Bihar NEET UG 2026 Round 3: Counselling Fee & Security Deposit Rates

Bihar UGMAC corrects Round 3 counselling fee and security deposit amounts for MBBS/BDS. Check your category and college type to pay the right amount by the deadline.

MedAdmit News Desk 3 Oct 2026 8 min read

Bihar's UGMAC (Undergraduate Medical Admission Counselling) board has issued a correction to the Round 3 counselling fee and security deposit amounts. This corrigendum fixes typographical errors in the earlier advertisement and clarifies exactly how much each category of candidate must pay, depending on whether they are applying to government or private medical, dental, veterinary, or fisheries colleges. The corrected fee structure is now live for Round 3 online application and choice filling. If you are a NEET UG 2026 qualified candidate eligible for Bihar counselling, you must pay the correct amount during online registration — paying the wrong amount will result in your application being rejected and you will not be able to participate in counselling.

Counselling fees and security deposits vary by your category (UR/EWS/BC/EBC vs. SC/ST/DQ) and the type of college you are applying to; paying the wrong amount will get your application rejected.

BCECEB — Corrigendum for Online Registraion and Choice filling for UGMAC-2026 Round-3 (Adv. No. BCECEB(UGMAC)-2026/11 Dated 03.10.2026)Official PDF notice published by BCECEB. Always confirm details against the official document.

What This Corrigendum Changes

On 30 September 2026, Bihar UGMAC released Advertisement No. BCECEB(UGMAC)-2026/09 with the original Round 3 counselling procedure. On 2 October 2026, a second advertisement (2026/11) was issued. However, both contained typographical errors in the column headings and fee tables for counselling fees and security deposits.

This corrigendum, issued on 3 October 2026, corrects those errors and provides the final, accurate fee structure. The corrected fees are now the official amounts you must pay. All other terms and conditions of the earlier advertisements remain unchanged — this notice only fixes the fee amounts and payment instructions.

Who Must Pay and When

Every NEET UG 2026 qualified candidate who wishes to participate in Bihar UGMAC Round 3 counselling must pay both a counselling fee (non-refundable) and a security deposit (refundable) during online registration and choice filling.

Payment must be made online only — through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. You will also be charged a processing fee by the payment gateway (Billdesk or ICICI Bank) in addition to the counselling fee and security deposit. There is no offline or cash payment option.

If your payment is debited from your account but the transaction fails, you must re-pay the full amount immediately and ensure it goes through. If the required fees do not appear in the board's account by the deadline, your application will be marked incomplete and rejected — you will not be eligible for counselling. Failed transactions will be refunded to your account later.

Counselling Fee by Category and College Type

The counselling fee is a non-refundable registration fee. The amount you pay depends on two things: (1) your category (Unreserved/EWS/BC/EBC, or SC/ST/DQ), and (2) the type of college you are applying to (government or private, and which course).

For government medical, dental, veterinary, or fisheries colleges: candidates in the UR/EWS/BC/EBC category pay Rs. 1,200, while SC/ST/DQ candidates pay Rs. 600.

For private medical colleges, private dental colleges, or any combination of private colleges: all candidates, regardless of category, pay Rs. 1,200.

When applying to both government and private colleges together, the fee depends on which private college type is included. See the table below for the complete breakdown.

College TypeUR / EWS / BC / EBC CategorySC / ST / DQ Category

Security Deposit by Category and College Type

The security deposit is a refundable amount you must pay at the time of online registration. It is held by the board and returned to you after you complete the admission process or withdraw. The amount varies significantly depending on your category and the type of college you are applying to.

Important: Self-Financed Seats in B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc.

If you are applying to self-financed (private) seats in B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry) or B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fishery Science) courses, you must pay a security deposit of Rs. 50,000, even if you are also applying to government veterinary or fisheries colleges (which would normally require only Rs. 10,000 or Rs. 5,000).

This higher deposit applies only to self-financed seats in these two courses. If you are unsure whether a seat is self-financed, check the college's prospectus or contact the board's helpdesk before paying.

How to Pay: Step-by-Step

During online registration and choice filling, after you have entered all your details and selected your college choices, you will see a button labeled 'Final Submit & Proceed to Payment'. Click this button.

The system will display payment instructions on your screen. You will be directed to the payment gateway (either Billdesk or ICICI Bank). Select your payment method: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Enter the exact amount shown (counselling fee + security deposit + processing charge). The processing charge is added by the payment gateway and is not part of the counselling fee or security deposit — it is a separate charge for using online payment.

Complete the payment. Once successful, you will receive a confirmation on screen and via email. Your application will then be considered complete and you will be eligible for counselling.

  • Click 'Final Submit & Proceed to Payment'
  • Select payment method (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI)
  • Enter the full amount including processing charge
  • Complete the transaction
  • Receive and save your payment confirmation

What Happens If Your Payment Fails

If the amount is debited from your account but the payment transaction fails (for example, due to a network error or bank issue), the board will not receive the payment. In this case, you must immediately re-pay the full amount and ensure the transaction goes through successfully.

If your required counselling fee and security deposit do not appear in the board's account by the application deadline, your application form will remain incomplete and will be rejected. You will not be eligible to participate in counselling.

Failed transactions are refunded to your account automatically, but this may take several days. Do not wait for the refund — re-pay immediately to avoid missing the deadline.

Processing Charge

In addition to the counselling fee and security deposit, you will be charged a processing fee by the payment gateway (Billdesk or ICICI Bank). This is a separate charge for using online payment and is not refundable.

The exact processing charge amount will be displayed on the payment screen before you confirm the transaction. It varies depending on your payment method and the gateway used. Make sure you have enough funds in your account to cover the counselling fee, security deposit, AND the processing charge.

Refund of Security Deposit

The security deposit is refundable. It will be returned to you after you complete the admission process or if you withdraw from counselling. The refund will be processed according to the board's refund policy, which will be detailed in the main counselling advertisement.

The counselling fee, however, is non-refundable under all circumstances. Once paid, it cannot be returned.

Understanding Your Category

Your category for fee purposes is determined by your NEET UG 2026 registration and the category certificate you submitted. The board recognizes the following categories: Unreserved (UR), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Backward Class (BC), Extremely Backward Class (EBC), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Differently Abled/Disabled (DQ).

SC, ST, and DQ candidates pay lower counselling fees and security deposits at government colleges. All other categories (UR, EWS, BC, EBC) pay the higher rate. At private colleges, all categories pay the same amount.

If you are unsure of your category, check your NEET UG admit card or your registration confirmation from the board. Do not guess — paying the wrong fee will result in rejection.

Frequently asked questions

What is this corrigendum and why was it issued?

This corrigendum corrects typographical errors in the earlier Round 3 counselling advertisements (dated 30 September and 2 October 2026). The errors were in the column headings and fee tables for counselling fees and security deposits. This notice provides the final, accurate fee structure that all candidates must follow.

How much counselling fee do I have to pay?

It depends on your category and the type of college you are applying to. If you are applying to government medical/dental/veterinary/fisheries colleges only: UR/EWS/BC/EBC candidates pay Rs. 1,200, SC/ST/DQ candidates pay Rs. 600. If you are applying to any private college, all candidates pay Rs. 1,200. See the fee table in the article for combinations of colleges.

How much security deposit do I have to pay?

The security deposit varies widely. For government colleges: UR/EWS candidates pay Rs. 10,000, SC/ST/BC/EBC/DQ candidates pay Rs. 5,000. For private medical colleges: all candidates pay Rs. 2,00,000. For private dental colleges: all candidates pay Rs. 50,000. See the security deposit table for combinations of colleges.

Is the security deposit refundable?

Yes, the security deposit is refundable. It will be returned to you after you complete the admission process or withdraw from counselling. The counselling fee, however, is non-refundable.

What payment methods are accepted?

Only online payment is accepted. You can pay using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. There is no offline or cash payment option. You will also be charged a processing fee by the payment gateway in addition to the counselling fee and security deposit.

What happens if my payment fails?

If the amount is debited but the transaction fails, you must re-pay immediately. If your payment does not appear in the board's account by the deadline, your application will be rejected and you will not be eligible for counselling. Failed transactions are refunded automatically, but do not wait for the refund — re-pay right away.

I am applying to both government and private colleges. How much do I pay?

You pay the higher amount required for any college type in your choice list. For example, if you apply to both government medical colleges and private medical colleges, you pay Rs. 1,200 as counselling fee and Rs. 2,00,000 as security deposit (the private medical college amount). See the tables for your exact combination.

I am applying to self-financed B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.F.Sc. seats. Do I pay a different security deposit?

Yes. If you are applying to self-financed seats in B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.F.Sc., you must pay a security deposit of Rs. 50,000, even if you are also applying to government veterinary or fisheries colleges. This higher deposit applies only to self-financed seats in these two courses.

What is the processing charge and is it refundable?

The processing charge is a fee charged by the payment gateway (Billdesk or ICICI Bank) for using online payment. It is separate from the counselling fee and security deposit, and it is not refundable. The exact amount will be shown on the payment screen before you confirm.

What should I do if I have a payment problem?

If your payment fails or you have questions, contact the payment gateway provider: for Billdesk, email bangalorepgsd@billdesk.com; for ICICI Bank, email cmssupport@icici.bank.in. You can also call the board's helpdesk at 0612-2220230 or email helpdesk.bceceboard@bihar.gov.in.

When is the deadline to pay the counselling fee and security deposit?

This corrigendum does not specify the exact deadline. The deadline was mentioned in the earlier advertisements (dated 30 September and 2 October 2026). Check those advertisements or the online application portal for the exact last date and time to complete payment.

What happens if I pay the wrong amount?

If you pay the wrong amount, your application will be incomplete and will be rejected. You will not be eligible for counselling. Make sure you identify your correct category and college type combination before paying, and refer to the fee tables in this notice.

This corrigendum corrects the official fee structure for Bihar UGMAC Round 3 counselling. Before you begin online registration and choice filling, identify your category (UR/EWS/BC/EBC or SC/ST/DQ) and the type of colleges you are applying to (government, private, or both), then refer to the fee tables above to determine the exact counselling fee and security deposit you must pay. Pay online only, using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI, and ensure the payment goes through successfully by the deadline. If you have any doubts about the correct fee for your situation, contact the board's helpdesk before paying. Do not delay — incomplete applications will be rejected.
