What is Round 3 Counselling?

Round 3 is the final mop-up round of NEET UG 2026 counselling in Chhattisgarh. It is held to fill seats that remain vacant after Rounds 1 and 2. These may include seats in government medical colleges, government dental colleges, private medical colleges, and private dental colleges across Chhattisgarh.

This round is open to all eligible candidates — both those applying for the first time and those who registered in earlier rounds but were not allotted a seat or chose not to join. If you did not get a seat in Rounds 1 or 2, or if you rejected your allotted seat, Round 3 is your final opportunity to secure admission for the 2026–27 academic year.

Who Can Apply for Round 3?

All candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 and meet the eligibility criteria set by Chhattisgarh are eligible to apply. This includes candidates from all categories (General, OBC, SC, ST) and all reservation quotas.

Importantly, candidates who were declared ineligible for counselling under Rule 7(c)(3) of the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental and Physical Therapy (Physiotherapy) Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025 will NOT be allowed to register in Round 3 or any future round. If you were marked ineligible in an earlier round, you cannot apply now.

Previously registered candidates must re-register and select institutions again, even if they registered in Rounds 1 or 2. Your earlier choices do not carry forward automatically.

  • New candidates applying for the first time
  • Previously registered candidates who were not allotted a seat
  • Previously registered candidates who rejected their allotted seat
  • Candidates from all categories and quotas (General, OBC, SC, ST)

Important Dates and Deadlines

Critical Rules: Seat Forfeiture and Re-Registration Fees

⚠️ **If you were allotted a seat in Round 2 but did not join (did not take admission), your registration fee has already been forfeited (cancelled).** To participate in Round 3, you must pay the registration fee again. Without this payment, you cannot be allotted a seat in Round 3.

⚠️ **If you were allotted a seat in Round 2 and your choice of college became vacant (you did not select a college or your selection was cancelled), you must select a college again in Round 3.** If you do not select a college in Round 3, you will not be allotted a seat, even if seats are available.

⚠️ **If you previously selected only government medical colleges and now want to select a private medical college, you must pay the difference between the private college registration fee and the government college registration fee you already paid.** You can select a private college only after making this additional payment.

⚠️ **If you are allotted a seat in Round 3 but do not join (do not take admission), your entire registration fee will be forfeited.** You will not be eligible for any future counselling round. Choose your college carefully — only select a college you are genuinely willing to join.

  • Round 2 non-joiners: pay registration fee again to participate in Round 3
  • Round 2 vacant choices: must re-select a college in Round 3 or lose your seat
  • Switching from government to private college: pay the fee difference
  • Round 3 non-joiners: entire fee forfeited, no future rounds

Editing Your Application: What You Can and Cannot Change

You can edit (change) your online application for free until the application deadline (6 October 11:59 PM). However, certain fields are locked and cannot be edited after submission.

⚠️ **Fields that CANNOT be edited:** Your mobile number and email address. These are provided by the central government's NEET exam database and are considered permanent. Make sure these are correct before you submit your application.

All other information in your application can be edited until the deadline. If you need to correct your name, address, category, or other details, you can do so without paying any fee.

  • Free editing allowed until 6 October 11:59 PM
  • Mobile number — CANNOT be changed
  • Email address — CANNOT be changed
  • All other fields — CAN be edited

Choosing Your College: Important Considerations

When you fill your choice of colleges, list them in order of your preference. The allotment algorithm will try to give you the highest-ranked college on your list for which you are eligible and where a seat is available.

⚠️ **Only select colleges you are genuinely willing to join.** If you are allotted a seat and do not join, your fee is forfeited and you lose all future counselling opportunities. Many candidates make the mistake of selecting colleges they do not intend to join, thinking they can reject later. This is a costly error.

If you previously selected only government colleges, you can now add private colleges to your list. However, you must pay the additional fee difference (private college fee minus government college fee) before you can select a private college.

The DME will allot seats based on your NEET rank, category, choices, and seat availability. You cannot negotiate or request a specific college. The allotment is done entirely by the online system.

The notice does not provide a detailed list of documents required for online registration. However, based on standard NEET UG counselling practice in Chhattisgarh, you will typically need to have the following ready before you begin your application:

Keep digital copies (scanned PDFs or photos) of all documents on your computer or phone. The online portal will ask you to upload these. Make sure files are clear, legible, and in the correct format (usually PDF or JPG).

If you are unsure about any document, visit the official websites www.cgdme.in or https://cgdme.admissions.nic.in/ for detailed instructions, or contact the DME office directly.

  • NEET UG 2026 result/score card

  • Caste/category certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Aadhar card or other government ID
  • Passport-size photograph
  • Email address and mobile number (for registration)

Where to Get Help and More Information

The official counselling is conducted entirely online. All information, updates, and results will be posted on the DME's official websites. Check these sites regularly for announcements.

**Official Websites:** - www.cgdme.in (Chhattisgarh DME) - https://cgdme.admissions.nic.in/ (NIC portal) Both sites have the same information. If one is slow or unavailable, try the other.

⚠️ **Important Warning:** Seat allotment is done ONLY through the official online portal by the DME's counselling committee. Do not trust anyone who claims to offer seats outside the official process. No individual, college, or agent can guarantee you a seat. If someone approaches you claiming to have 'connections' or offering to 'arrange' a seat, it is a scam. Report such attempts to the DME immediately.

  • www.cgdme.in — official DME website
  • https://cgdme.admissions.nic.in/ — NIC counselling portal
  • Check both sites regularly for updates and results
  • Do not trust unofficial sources or agents
  • Allotment is done ONLY through the official online system

Common Mistakes That Get Your Application Rejected

**Missing the deadline:** The portal closes automatically at 11:59 PM on the specified date. If you submit even one second late, your application will not be accepted. Do not wait until the last minute.

**Not selecting a college:** If you register but do not fill and lock your college choices by 7 October 11:59 PM, you will not be allotted a seat. Registration alone is not enough — you must also choose colleges.

**Ineligibility in earlier rounds:** If you were marked ineligible (Rule 7(c)(3)) in Round 1 or 2, you cannot apply in Round 3. Check your earlier round status before attempting to register.

**Not paying the re-registration fee:** If you did not join in Round 2, you must pay the registration fee again. Without payment, you cannot be allotted a seat in Round 3.

**Selecting a college you will not join:** If you are allotted and do not join, your fee is forfeited and you lose all future counselling. Only select colleges you genuinely intend to join.

**Incorrect or incomplete information:** Double-check all details before submitting. Some fields (mobile number, email) cannot be edited later.

**Trying to change your choice after locking:** Once you lock your choices on 7 October, you cannot change them. Choose carefully before locking.
