Freeze, Float and Upgrade — what they mean
- Freeze: you accept your allotted seat and exit the upgrade process; you keep this seat.
- Float: you join/hold your current seat but stay in the running for a better one in the next round.
- Upgrade: in a later round, if a higher-preference seat is allotted to you, your previous seat is cancelled automatically and released to the next candidate on merit.
- You only get an upgrade if you chose 'float' (not 'freeze') — freezing ends your participation in further rounds.
