Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Telangana, has opened the Mop Up phase of web-based counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions under Management Quota (B & C/NRI categories) for the 2026–27 academic year. This is the final round of seat allocation for private medical and dental colleges affiliated to KNRUHS, as well as Army College of Dental Sciences and Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences. Eligible candidates on the final merit list must exercise their web-options (choose colleges in order of preference) between 2:00 PM on October 16 and 4:00 PM on October 17, 2026. This is a critical window—if you do not exercise options now, you lose your chance to secure a seat, and you will be barred from future counselling rounds.

Exercise your web-options for MBBS/BDS Management Quota seats between 2 PM on Oct 16 and 4 PM on Oct 17, 2026, or you will be permanently ineligible for further counselling rounds.

What is the Mop Up Phase and Who Can Apply?

The Mop Up phase is the final round of counselling for Management Quota seats. It is open only to candidates whose names appear in the final merit list for Management Quota (B & C/NRI categories) published on the KNRUHS website. This is your last opportunity to secure a seat in this admission cycle.

You are eligible to exercise web-options in the Mop Up phase ONLY if: (1) your name is on the final merit list for Management Quota, (2) you exercised web-options in the first phase of counselling (even if you were not allotted a seat), and (3) you were either not allotted a seat in previous phases, or you were allotted a seat but did not report/join the course. If you were allotted a seat in an earlier phase and have already joined and are continuing the course, you are also eligible to exercise options in this phase (to potentially slide to a better college).

  • Your name must appear in the final merit list for Management Quota on the KNRUHS website
  • You must have exercised web-options in the first phase of counselling
  • You must not have been allotted and joined a seat in a previous phase (unless you are continuing and wish to slide)
  • You must not be admitted under MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) counselling up to the third phase
  • You must not have been allotted a seat under Competent Authority Quota (CQ) in the Mop Up phase

Important Dates: When to Exercise Web-Options

The web-option exercise window is extremely tight. You have exactly 26 hours to log in and submit your choices. The portal opens at 2:00 PM on October 16, 2026, and closes at 4:00 PM on October 17, 2026. After 4:00 PM on October 17, the portal will shut down and you will not be able to exercise options. There is no extension or grace period.

You must exercise options from a computer with an internet connection. The official portal is https://tspvtmedadm.tsche.in/. Do not delay—log in early to avoid last-minute technical issues or internet problems.

  • Web-option exercise opens: 2:00 PM on October 16, 2026
  • Web-option exercise closes: 4:00 PM on October 17, 2026
  • Portal: https://tspvtmedadm.tsche.in/
  • Access method: Computer with internet connection (not mobile app)
  • No extension or re-opening after the deadline

Who Is NOT Eligible—Critical Exclusions

Several categories of candidates are explicitly barred from exercising web-options in the Mop Up phase. Read this section carefully, as missing one of these conditions can result in your application being rejected without notice.

If you were allotted a seat in any previous phase of counselling and you have already reported to the college and joined the course, you cannot exercise web-options in the Mop Up phase—unless you are continuing the course and wish to slide to another college. If you were allotted a seat but did not report or discontinued the course, you are ineligible. If you did not exercise web-options in the first phase of counselling (even if you were on the merit list), you are permanently barred from all subsequent phases, including this Mop Up phase. This rule exists to prevent 'seat blocking'—candidates holding seats they do not intend to join.

If you have been admitted under MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) counselling up to the third phase, you are ineligible. If your name appears in the college-wise allotment list under Competent Authority Quota (CQ) in the Mop Up phase, you are also ineligible for Management Quota web-options.

  • You were allotted a seat in a previous phase and did not report or discontinued—ineligible
  • You did not exercise web-options in the first phase of counselling—permanently ineligible for all future phases
  • You are admitted under MCC counselling (up to third phase)—ineligible
  • Your name is in the CQ allotment list for Mop Up phase—ineligible for Management Quota options
  • You are not on the final merit list for Management Quota—ineligible

How to Exercise Web-Options: Step-by-Step Process

Log in to the portal https://tspvtmedadm.tsche.in/ using your registration credentials (the same username and password you used during the first phase of counselling). Once logged in, you will see a list of all MBBS and BDS colleges affiliated to KNRUHS, as well as Army College of Dental Sciences and Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences. You can also see the current seat matrix showing vacant seats in each college and category.

Select the colleges and courses (MBBS or BDS) you wish to join, in order of your preference. You can exercise options for an unlimited number of colleges and courses—there is no limit on the number of choices. Arrange them in the exact order of your preference, because allotments are made strictly according to the order you specify. If you are eligible for both B and C/NRI categories, exercise options for B category first, then C/NRI, in order of your priority for each college.

After you have entered all your choices, save them. You will receive a one-time password (OTP)—a six-letter code in English capital letters (A–Z)—on your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP to confirm and submit your web-options. Take a printout of your saved options for your records. You will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number confirming that your options have been submitted.

After the Mop Up phase closes, allotments will be made based on your web-options and your merit rank. You will receive an SMS notification if you are allotted a seat. Log in to the portal to check your allotment status and download your allotment order.

  • Log in to https://tspvtmedadm.tsche.in/ with your registration credentials
  • View the seat matrix and list of available colleges
  • Select colleges and courses in order of preference (unlimited choices allowed)
  • If eligible for both B and C/NRI, list B category options first, then C/NRI options
  • Save your choices
  • Receive OTP (six-letter code) on your registered mobile
  • Enter OTP to confirm and submit
  • Print your saved options
  • Receive SMS confirmation
  • Check allotment status on the portal after allotment is announced

University Fee and Payment

If you are allotted a seat in the Mop Up phase, you must pay the University fee to download your allotment order and complete the admission process. The fee varies by category and course. Payment is made online through a payment gateway using a debit card, credit card, or internet banking. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

If you have already paid the University fee in a previous phase of counselling, you do not need to pay again. However, if this is your first allotment, you must pay before you can download your allotment order and report to the college.

After paying the University fee, you must also pay the tuition fee at the respective college. Tuition fees are set by the Government of Telangana and vary by college. For Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences, the tuition fee is Rs. 16,50,000 per annum for B Category and Rs. 24,75,000 per annum for C/NRI category. For other colleges, refer to the Government Order G.O.Ms.No. 98, HM&FW(C1) Dept., dated 07.08.2026.

  • University fee must be paid online (debit card, credit card, or internet banking)
  • Fee is non-refundable
  • If you paid in a previous phase, no need to pay again
  • Tuition fee is paid separately at the college
  • Tuition fee is set by the Government of Telangana

Seat Reservations and Category-Specific Rules

In Management Quota B Category, 85% of seats are reserved for local candidates of Telangana, and 15% are open to candidates from all over India. The 15% unreserved (all-India) seats are allotted first, followed by the 85% reserved seats for Telangana locals. This means if you are a non-Telangana candidate, you will be considered only for the 15% all-India seats; if you are a Telangana local, you can be considered for both the 15% all-India seats and the 85% reserved seats, depending on your merit rank.

In private minority medical colleges, Management Quota seats (B & C/NRI) are reserved exclusively for Muslim Minority candidates. If Muslim Minority candidates are not available, up to 30% of these seats may be filled with non-minority students during the final phase of counselling.

At Army College of Dental Sciences, Management Quota seats are reserved for the wards (children) of Army personnel only, as per AWES (Army Welfare Education Society) regulations. If you are not a ward of Army personnel, you cannot apply for seats at this college.

MBBS seats at Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences are distributed in accordance with the Telangana State Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) Act, 2018, and may have different rules. Refer to the prospectus for details.

  • B Category: 85% reserved for Telangana locals, 15% open to all-India candidates
  • 15% all-India seats allotted first, then 85% Telangana-reserved seats
  • Private minority medical colleges: seats reserved for Muslim Minority candidates only (up to 30% non-minority in final phase)
  • Army College of Dental Sciences: seats reserved for wards of Army personnel only
  • Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences: follows Telangana State Private Universities Act, 2018

Enhanced Seats: New Opportunities at Two Colleges

Two colleges have increased their MBBS intake for 2026–27. TRR Institute of Medical Sciences and Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences have each increased their MBBS seats from 150 to 200 seats. This means 50 additional seats are now available at each college.

Of the total enhanced seats at each college, 50% are allocated to Competent Authority Quota (CQ—the state's own counselling) and 50% are allocated to Management Quota (MQ—private management seats). This means 25 additional Management Quota seats are available at each of these two colleges. These seats are shown in the seat matrix on the portal, and you can exercise options for them if you are interested.

  • TRR Institute of Medical Sciences: MBBS seats increased from 150 to 200
  • Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences: MBBS seats increased from 150 to 200
  • 50% of enhanced seats = Competent Authority Quota (CQ)
  • 50% of enhanced seats = Management Quota (MQ)
  • 25 additional Management Quota seats available at each college

Critical Trap: The 'No First Phase Options' Rule

This is the single most important rule to understand, and it catches many candidates off guard. If you did not exercise web-options in the first phase of counselling, you are permanently ineligible for the Mop Up phase and all future phases. This rule exists to prevent 'seat blocking'—candidates holding seats they do not intend to join.

Even if you were on the merit list in the first phase, even if you were waiting for the Mop Up phase, even if you had a valid reason for not exercising options earlier—if you did not submit your web-options in the first phase, you cannot participate in the Mop Up phase. There is no exception, no appeal, no second chance. Check the KNRUHS website now to confirm that your name appears in the first phase merit list and that you exercised options then. If you did not, you are ineligible for this Mop Up phase.

  • ⚠️ Did not exercise web-options in first phase? You are permanently ineligible for Mop Up and all future phases
  • ⚠️ This rule applies even if you were on the merit list but chose not to exercise options
  • ⚠️ No exceptions, no appeals, no second chance
  • ✅ Check the KNRUHS website now to confirm you exercised options in the first phase

If you are allotted a seat in the Mop Up phase, you must report to the Principal of the allotted college before the joining date specified in your allotment order. You must submit all original certificates (10th, 12th, NEET admit card, NEET result, caste certificate if applicable, domicile certificate if applicable, and any other documents required by the college), or a custodian certificate if originals are with another institution. You must also pay the tuition fee and any other college fees on or before the joining date.

If you do not report by the joining date, or if you do not submit all required documents and pay fees, your admission will be automatically cancelled. You will then face a penalty of Rs. 20 lakhs and will be debarred from MBBS/BDS admissions under KNRUHS for 3 years. This is a severe penalty—do not take it lightly.

If you slide to another college during the Mop Up phase (i.e., you are allotted a better college in the Mop Up phase after being allotted a different college in an earlier phase), your original certificates will be sent to the new college after admissions close. You must obtain a custodian certificate from your previous college, collect any fees you paid, and report to the new college before the joining date. You cannot discontinue from the course after the Mop Up phase allotment.

  • ✅ Report to the Principal before the joining date on your allotment order
  • ✅ Submit all original certificates or custodian certificate
  • ✅ Pay tuition fee and college fees by the joining date
  • ⚠️ Failure to report or submit documents = automatic cancellation of admission
  • ⚠️ Penalty for non-joining: Rs. 20 lakhs + 3-year debarment from KNRUHS admissions
  • ⚠️ If you slide to another college, you cannot discontinue after Mop Up phase

Discontinuation and Withdrawal: Heavy Penalties

Once you are admitted in the Mop Up phase, you are not permitted to withdraw or discontinue from the course. If you discontinue after the Mop Up phase, you will face a penalty of Rs. 20 lakhs and will be debarred from MBBS/BDS admissions under KNRUHS for 3 years. This penalty applies even if you have a valid reason for discontinuation.

The only exception is a 'free exit' period, which may be defined in the prospectus or regulations. If you discontinue during the free exit period, you may still be required to pay the Rs. 20 lakhs penalty to retrieve your original certificates. After the free exit period ends, discontinuation is not permitted at all.

This rule is designed to prevent seat blocking and ensure that admitted candidates actually join and complete their courses. Before you exercise web-options, be absolutely certain that you intend to join the college and complete the course. Do not exercise options for colleges you are not genuinely interested in.

  • ⚠️ No withdrawal or discontinuation permitted after Mop Up phase allotment
  • ⚠️ Penalty for discontinuation: Rs. 20 lakhs + 3-year debarment
  • ⚠️ Penalty applies even during 'free exit' period
  • ⚠️ University fee is non-refundable under any circumstances
  • ✅ Exercise web-options only for colleges you genuinely intend to join

NRI Quota: Special Requirements and Documents

If you are allotted a seat under the NRI (Non-Resident Indian) quota, you must produce additional documents at the college to complete your admission. These documents are required to verify your NRI status and the sponsorship of your education by an NRI relative.

You must bring: (1) a sponsorship letter from your NRI relative in original, (2) a copy of the NRI relative's passport, (3) a copy of the NRI relative's VISA or residence proof, (4) a copy of the NRI relative's bank statement or passbook showing financial capacity to sponsor your education. These documents must be submitted at the college during the joining process. If you do not have these documents, you will not be able to complete your admission, and your seat will be cancelled.

The candidate and parent/guardian are solely responsible for any false claims regarding NRI quota admission. If discrepancies are found during verification, your admission will be cancelled and criminal action may be initiated against you.

  • ✅ Sponsorship letter from NRI relative (original)
  • ✅ Copy of NRI relative's passport
  • ✅ Copy of NRI relative's VISA or residence proof
  • ✅ Copy of NRI relative's bank statement or passbook
  • ⚠️ False claims regarding NRI status can result in criminal action
  • ⚠️ Candidate and parent/guardian are solely responsible for NRI quota claims

Certificate Verification and Fraud Prevention

After you are allotted a seat and report to the college, the college will conduct a final verification of all your original certificates. This includes your 10th and 12th mark sheets, NEET admit card, NEET result, caste certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate (if applicable), and any other documents required. If any discrepancy is found—such as a forged certificate, incorrect information, or a certificate that does not match your application—your provisional allotment will be cancelled immediately.

If discrepancies are found at any stage, including after the closure of admissions, your admission will be cancelled and criminal action may be initiated against you. The university takes fraud very seriously. Do not submit false or forged documents. Ensure that all your certificates are genuine and that the information on them matches your application exactly.

  • ⚠️ Final certificate verification conducted at the college
  • ⚠️ Any discrepancy = cancellation of allotment and possible criminal action
  • ⚠️ Forged or false certificates will result in criminal prosecution
  • ✅ Ensure all certificates are genuine and information matches your application

Frequently asked questions

I was on the merit list in the first phase but did not exercise web-options then. Can I exercise options in the Mop Up phase?

No. If you did not exercise web-options in the first phase of counselling, you are permanently ineligible for the Mop Up phase and all future phases. This rule applies even if you were on the merit list. There is no exception or appeal. Check the KNRUHS website now to confirm whether you exercised options in the first phase.

I was allotted a seat in the first phase but did not report to the college. Am I eligible for the Mop Up phase?

Yes, you are eligible. If you were allotted a seat in a previous phase but did not report or discontinued the course, you can exercise web-options in the Mop Up phase. However, if you were allotted a seat, reported to the college, and are continuing the course, you are also eligible to exercise options in the Mop Up phase to potentially slide to a better college.

What is the deadline for exercising web-options?

The deadline is 4:00 PM on October 17, 2026. The portal opens at 2:00 PM on October 16, 2026. You have exactly 26 hours to log in and submit your choices. After 4:00 PM on October 17, the portal will close and you will not be able to exercise options. There is no extension.

How many colleges can I choose in my web-options?

There is no limit on the number of colleges or courses you can choose. You can exercise web-options for any number of MBBS/BDS colleges and courses you are interested in, in order of your preference. Allotments will be made strictly according to the order you specify.

If I am allotted a seat but do not join the college, what happens?

If you are allotted a seat and do not report to the college by the joining date, your admission will be automatically cancelled. You will face a penalty of Rs. 20 lakhs and will be debarred from MBBS/BDS admissions under KNRUHS for 3 years. Do not exercise web-options for colleges you do not genuinely intend to join.

Can I discontinue from the course after I join in the Mop Up phase?

I am a non-Telangana candidate. Can I apply for B Category seats?

Yes, but only for the 15% all-India seats. In Management Quota B Category, 85% of seats are reserved for Telangana locals and 15% are open to all-India candidates. The 15% all-India seats are allotted first. If you are a Telangana local, you can be considered for both the 15% all-India seats and the 85% reserved seats.

Do I need to pay the University fee if I was allotted a seat in the first phase?

What documents do I need to submit when I report to the college?

You must submit all original certificates: 10th mark sheet, 12th mark sheet, NEET admit card, NEET result, caste certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate (if applicable), and any other documents required by the college. These documents must be submitted at the college during joining. False claims regarding NRI status can result in criminal action.

What happens if discrepancies are found in my certificates during verification?

If discrepancies are found at any stage, including after the closure of admissions, your admission will be cancelled and criminal action may be initiated. Ensure all your certificates are genuine and information matches your application exactly.

I am interested in two colleges but can only join one. Should I exercise options for both?

Yes, exercise options for both colleges in order of your preference. If you are allotted your first-choice college, you will join that one. If you are allotted your second-choice college instead, you will join that one. However, do not exercise options for a college you do not genuinely intend to join, as non-joining will result in a Rs. 20 lakhs penalty and 3-year debarment.
