Telangana BDS Counselling Phase 2: Web Options Open 16–18 Sept 2026

Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Telangana, has opened Phase 2 of web-based counselling for BDS admissions under Competent Authority Quota for the 2026–27 academic year. This is the second and final round of seat allocation for BDS courses in government, private, and Army dental colleges across Telangana. Eligible candidates who participated in Phase 1 and either joined a seat or did not exercise options in Phase 1 can now rank their college preferences online. The web-option window is open for just 2 days (16–18 September 2026), and candidates who miss this deadline will lose eligibility for all future counselling rounds.

What is Phase 2 BDS Counselling and Why It Matters

Phase 2 is the second round of seat allocation in Telangana's BDS counselling process. In Phase 1, the first batch of seats were allotted to candidates based on their merit rank and college choices. Phase 2 allows candidates who already have a Phase 1 seat to 'slide' to a better college if one becomes available, or allows those who did not exercise options in Phase 1 to now participate for the first time.

This round is critical because it is the last opportunity to secure a BDS seat in Telangana for the 2026–27 academic year. After Phase 2, if you do not join the seat allotted to you, you will be permanently barred from all future counselling rounds. This rule exists to prevent 'seat blocking'—where a candidate holds a seat but does not join, wasting it for others.

Who Is Eligible to Participate in Phase 2

To participate in Phase 2 web-option counselling, you must meet ALL of the following conditions:

First, your name must appear in the final merit list for Competent Authority Quota (CQ) published on the KNRUHS website on 28 August 2026 or in any subsequent addendum. This means you must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and been verified as eligible by the university.

Second, your certificates must have been uploaded during online registration and verified by the concerned department staff. If your certificates were not uploaded or were rejected during verification, you are not eligible.

Third, and most importantly, you must have exercised web-options in Phase 1 of counselling. If you did not participate in Phase 1 at all, you cannot participate in Phase 2. This rule is absolute and applies even if you were eligible in the merit list.

• Your name is in the final CQ merit list (published 28.08.2026 or later addendum)

Important Eligibility Traps: Who Cannot Participate

The notification lists three specific groups who are NOT eligible for Phase 2, and these rules are strictly enforced:

**Trap 1: You were allotted a seat in Phase 1 but did not report or discontinued.** If you received a Phase 1 seat, reported to the college, but then dropped out or never showed up, you cannot participate in Phase 2. The university considers this a form of seat blocking.

**Trap 2: You did not exercise web-options in Phase 1.** Even if your name is in the merit list, if you simply did not submit any college choices in Phase 1, you are permanently barred from Phase 2. There is no exception to this rule.

**Exception: You joined Phase 1 and are still continuing.** If you were allotted a seat in Phase 1, joined the college, and are currently enrolled, you ARE eligible to slide to a different college in Phase 2. This is the only scenario where a Phase 1 seat holder can participate.

Important Dates and Deadlines

The Phase 2 web-option window is extremely short—only 2 calendar days. Mark these dates clearly in your calendar:

**Start:** 2:00 PM (14:00 hours) on 16 September 2026 **End:** 11:00 AM (11:00 hours) on 18 September 2026

The portal closes at 11:00 AM on 18 September, not at midnight. If you attempt to submit options after 11:00 AM on 18 September, the system will reject them. There is no extension, no grace period, and no manual submission option. Once the deadline passes, you cannot participate in Phase 2 or any future round.

After you submit your options, the university will process them and allot seats. You will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number informing you of the allotment result. You must then log in to https://tsbdsadm.tsche.in/ to check your allotment status and download your allotment order.

How to Exercise Web-Options: Step-by-Step Process

**Step 1: Log in to the portal.** Go to https://tsbdsadm.tsche.in/ using a computer with a stable internet connection. Use your registration credentials (roll number and password) to log in. Do not use a mobile phone for this process, as the form may not display correctly.

**Step 2: Review the seat matrix.** Before you rank colleges, check the seat matrix on http://knruhs.telangana.gov.in to see how many BDS seats are available at each college. However, note that the seat matrix shows only currently vacant seats. During Phase 2, additional seats may become available as candidates who were allotted Phase 1 seats slide to other colleges. So even if a college shows zero vacant seats, you should still rank it if you are interested, because vacancies may arise.

**Step 3: Rank colleges in order of preference.** You can rank ANY NUMBER of colleges—there is no limit. Rank every college you would be willing to join, in the order you prefer them. If you are not interested in a college, do not rank it. The system will allot you the highest-ranked college for which you are eligible and where a seat becomes available.

**Step 4: Save your options.** After ranking all your preferred colleges, save your options. The system will send a ONE-TIME PASSWORD (OTP) consisting of a 6-letter code (A–Z capital letters) to your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP to confirm your submission.

**Step 5: Print your saved options.** After successful submission, immediately print a copy of your saved options for your records. This is your proof of participation.

**Important:** Once you submit your options, you cannot change them. Think carefully before submitting.

Fees You Must Pay: University Fee and Tuition Fee

If you are allotted a seat in Phase 2, you must pay two separate fees to complete your admission:

**University Fee: ₹12,000 (non-refundable).** This is a one-time fee paid to KNRUHS through the online payment gateway. You must pay this fee BEFORE you can download your allotment order. Payment methods accepted: Debit Card, Credit Card, or Internet Banking. This fee is NOT refundable under any circumstances, even if you later decide not to join.

**Tuition Fee (varies by college).** This is the college's own fee and varies depending on whether you are admitted to a government or private dental college. For Government Dental College & Hospital, Hyderabad, check the college website for the exact amount. For private dental colleges, the fee is set according to Government Order G.O.Ms.No. 98, HM&FW(C1) Department, dated 07.08.2026. You pay this fee directly to the college when you report for admission.

**Important: Double Payment Trap.** If your online payment fails but is later processed successfully (resulting in two charges), you must email knruhs.doublepayments@gmail.com with proof. The university will verify and refund the duplicate amount to your bank account, but only AFTER the entire admission process closes. Do not assume the money is lost; follow the refund process.

What Happens After You Are Allotted a Seat

**Allotment notification.** You will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number informing you that a seat has been allotted. You must also log in to https://tsbdsadm.tsche.in/ to check your allotment status and download your allotment order. The allotment order will specify the college you have been allotted and the last date by which you must report to the college.

**Payment and download.** After receiving your allotment, you must pay the University fee (₹12,000) through the online payment gateway. Only after successful payment can you download your allotment order from the website.

**Reporting to the college.** You must report to the Principal of your allotted dental college ON OR BEFORE the date specified on your allotment order. When you report, you must bring:

All original certificates (10th, 12th, NEET admit card, NEET result, caste certificate if applicable, etc.)

Any relevant bonds (if applicable)

Proof of payment of the University fee

You must also pay the tuition fee to the college at this time.

**Critical rule: If you do not join, you lose all future chances.** If you are allotted a seat in Phase 2 but do not report to the college by the deadline, your admission will be automatically cancelled. You will then be permanently barred from participating in any future counselling rounds. This is a strict rule with no exceptions.

The 'Sliding' Rule: What Happens If You Already Have a Phase 1 Seat

If you were allotted a seat in Phase 1 and joined that college, you can now 'slide' to a different college in Phase 2 if you rank a better college and a seat becomes available there.

**How sliding works:** When you exercise Phase 2 options, if you are allotted a seat at a college you ranked higher than your Phase 1 college, your Phase 1 seat is automatically cancelled and that seat is given to the next eligible candidate. You must then get relieved from your Phase 1 college, collect all your original certificates and any tuition fee paid, and report to your new Phase 2 college by the deadline.

**Critical warning:** If you slide to a new college in Phase 2 but then do not join that new college, you will be permanently barred from all future counselling rounds. The rule is: once you are allotted a seat in Phase 2, you MUST join it, or you lose all future chances. Do not rank a college in Phase 2 unless you are genuinely willing to join it.

**Vacancies arise during sliding.** The seat matrix shown before Phase 2 may show zero vacant seats at some colleges. However, as candidates slide from Phase 1 to Phase 2, vacancies will open up. This is why the notification advises you to rank colleges even if they currently show no vacant seats.

Certificate Verification and Admission Cancellation Risk

Your certificates will be verified twice: once during the initial registration phase (which has already happened), and again at the college when you report for admission.

**Final verification at college.** When you report to your allotted dental college, the college will conduct a final verification of all your original certificates. This includes your 10th and 12th mark sheets, NEET admit card, NEET result, caste certificate (if applicable), and any other documents you submitted.

**What can go wrong.** If there is any discrepancy between the certificates you submitted online and the original certificates you bring to the college, your provisional allotment will be cancelled. For example, if your caste certificate shows a different caste than what you claimed during registration, or if your 10th mark sheet shows a different date of birth than your 12th mark sheet, your admission can be cancelled.

**Action after cancellation.** If your allotment is cancelled due to a certificate discrepancy, the university may initiate action against you as per its regulations. This could include a ban from future counselling rounds or other penalties. Therefore, ensure that all your certificates are accurate and consistent before you submit them.
