Counselling Rounds: How Seats Are Allotted
There will be four rounds of counselling: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Round. All counselling is conducted online based on your NEET-PG 2026 rank and the rule of reservation (category-wise allocation). Mutual transfers and individual requests for college transfer are NOT permitted under any circumstances. In Round 1, if you do not register or lock your choices, you can still participate in subsequent rounds. If you are allotted a seat in Round 1 but do not join, or if you resign within the stipulated time, you remain eligible for Round 2.
In Round 2, re-allotment is permitted based on rank and reservation rules. If you were allotted a seat in Round 1 and joined, you can opt for re-allotment (upgrade) in Round 2. If you do not join a Round 2 allotment, you forfeit your registration fee but remain eligible for Round 3. In Round 3, if you are allotted a seat and join, you become ineligible for the Stray Round. The Stray Round is the final round for remaining vacancies. Once you join in any round, you cannot vacate the seat without paying a discontinuation penalty (₹10 lakhs for Diploma, ₹15 lakhs for Degree) plus forfeiting all fees.

Critical Traps: What Gets Your Application Rejected or Seat Cancelled
⚠️ **Incomplete or unclear documents**: If your uploaded documents are not clearly visible or if any mandatory field in the application is left blank, your application will be rejected. No correspondence or request for reconsideration will be entertained. Ensure all documents are self-attested photocopies with high visibility before uploading.
⚠️ **Wrong or missing certificates**: If you are from a university other than Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, you MUST upload an Eligibility Certificate from that university with your application. Without it, your application will be rejected. Community certificates must show the correct caste/community status and be issued by the competent authority. For Scheduled Tribe candidates, the certificate must be issued by a Revenue Divisional Officer.
⚠️ **False NRI documents**: If you are applying under NRI Quota and any of your documents (NRI status, relationship certificate, bank passbook) are found to be false or forged, your candidature will be rejected, your seat (if allotted) will be cancelled, criminal proceedings will be initiated against you, and you will be debarred for three years with NO refund of application fee, security deposit, or tuition fee.
⚠️ **Suppression of eligibility or non-eligibility facts**: If you hide or misrepresent any eligibility criterion (e.g., claiming you completed CRMI/CRRI when you haven't, or hiding a prior PG qualification), your allotment will be cancelled at any time during or after admission, and legal/disciplinary action will be taken. You are deemed to have read and accepted all terms by submitting your application.
⚠️ **Offline admission or resignation**: All admissions and resignations must be done online only. Any offline admission or resignation will not be accepted. Colleges that process offline admissions may face legal consequences.
- Incomplete applications rejected; no reconsideration
- Unclear or illegible documents rejected
- Eligibility Certificate mandatory for non-TN university graduates
- Community Certificate must show correct caste and be from competent authority
- False NRI documents result in rejection, seat cancellation, criminal action, 3-year debarment, no refund
- Suppression of facts results in allotment cancellation and legal action
- Offline admission/resignation not accepted
- No changes to application after submission
What Happens After You Join: Conduct and Ragging
Once you join a PG course, you must not indulge in any agitation, strike, or ragging activity inside or outside the college campus. Candidates found participating in such activities will be expelled from the course/college at any point during the study period, and criminal action will be taken against them. Ragging in all its forms is totally banned in medical colleges and includes all premises (academic, residential, sports, canteen) and all means of transportation, whether public or private.
At the time of admission, you will be required to give a self-declaration stating that you are liable for forfeiture of your selection/admission if suppression of facts or misinterpretation is found at any time during or after admission. You will also receive a printed leaflet detailing anti-ragging measures, your rights as a bonafide student, and the contact details of anti-ragging committees and authorities. Ragging is a cognizable offence under law and is treated at par with rape and other atrocities against women and ill-treatment of SC/ST persons.
- No agitation, strike, or ragging allowed
- Expulsion and criminal action for participation in prohibited activities
- Ragging banned in all forms and all locations
- Self-declaration required at admission
- Anti-ragging leaflet provided at admission
- Ragging is a cognizable offence under law
