Rajasthan's NEET UG Medical & Dental Counselling Board has opened the Special Stray Round for MBBS and Round 5 for BDS on 04 November 2026. This is a final opportunity for eligible candidates who did not secure a seat in earlier rounds (Rounds 1–3 for MBBS, or earlier BDS rounds) to apply for remaining vacant seats. The entire process—from registration to reporting at college—must be completed between 04 and 16 November 2026. If you are eligible and did not get a seat before, or exited without forfeiture, this round is your chance; but the deadlines are tight and the rules are strict about who can participate.

Register by 05.11.2026 (8:00 PM), verify documents by 07.11.2026 (3:00 PM), deposit security fees by 10.11.2026 (5:00 PM), fill fresh choices by 10.11.2026 (11:45 PM), and report to college by 16.11.2026 (4:00 PM)—or you lose your seat.

What is the Special Stray Round and Round 5 for BDS?

The Special Stray Round for MBBS and Round 5 for BDS are final counselling rounds designed to fill seats that remain vacant after all earlier rounds of allotment. In Rajasthan, this is the last opportunity to secure a medical or dental seat for the 2026–27 academic session. The round is open to both fresh candidates (those registering for the first time) and re-registered candidates (those who exited earlier under specific conditions).

This round is different from earlier rounds because it operates on a 'stray' basis—meaning seats are filled only from candidates who actively apply and fill choices. There is no automatic carry-forward of choices from earlier rounds; every eligible candidate must fill fresh choices in this round, or they will not be considered for allotment, even if they were registered before.

Who is Eligible to Apply in the Special Stray Round?

Eligibility for this round is strictly defined. You can apply if you fall into one of the following categories. Read carefully—if you do not fit any of these, you cannot participate, no matter how many times you register.

The board has explicitly listed who is NOT eligible: candidates who have already joined a seat after Round 3 or the stray vacancy round cannot apply. Candidates who were allotted or upgraded a seat in Round 3 or the stray vacancy round but did not join are also barred. This is a critical trap—if you were allotted a seat earlier and simply did not report, you are locked out of this round.

  • Registered candidate who did not get allotment in Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, or the stray vacancy round
  • Registered candidate who got allotment in Round 1, exited without forfeiture or resigned without forfeiture of security amount (by 16.09.2026, 5:00 PM) on not upgrading in Round 2, and did not get any allotment in Round 3 or stray vacancy round
  • Registered candidate who got allotment/upgraded in Round 2, did not join, and was not allotted any seat in Round 3 (on re-registration)
  • Newly registered candidate (first time applying)
  • Re-registered candidate (as per norms—typically those who exited with forfeiture in Round 2 and did not register in Round 3)
  • Candidate who falls under clause XI 'Other' of Other Eligibility Criteria (All India candidates, considered for vacant seats after state merit list is exhausted)
  • Non-domicile candidates (out of Rajasthan state) who are not covered under clauses I to X of other eligibility criteria

Important Eligibility Traps: Who Cannot Apply

The board has explicitly barred certain candidates. These are not edge cases—they are common situations that disqualify you. If any of these apply to you, do not waste time registering; you will be rejected.

First trap: If you have a 'joined status' after Round 3 or the stray vacancy round (as shown on the MCC website), you cannot participate. This means if you reported to a college and joined the course, you are locked in and cannot apply for another seat. Second trap: If you were allotted or upgraded a seat in Round 3 or stray vacancy round but did not join, you are barred. The board treats non-joining as a form of exit and does not allow a second chance in the same session. Third trap: If you exited with forfeiture of security in Round 2 and then registered in Round 3, you cannot apply in the special stray round—you had your re-registration chance in Round 3 and must not have used it.

  • Candidates with joined status after Round 3 or stray vacancy round
  • Candidates allotted/upgraded in Round 3 or stray vacancy round but not joined
  • Candidates who exited with forfeiture in Round 2 and registered in Round 3 (they already had their re-registration chance)

Important Dates and Deadlines

All dates and times are strict. The board will not extend deadlines or accept late submissions. Mark these on your calendar and set phone reminders—missing even one deadline will disqualify you.

The process runs in parallel tracks: registration and fee payment happen first (by 05.11.2026), then document verification (06–07.11.2026), then security deposit (by 10.11.2026), then choice filling (by 10.11.2026, 11:45 PM), then allotment (11.11.2026), and finally reporting to college (by 16.11.2026). Each step is dependent on the previous one. If you miss document verification, you cannot proceed to choice filling. If you do not deposit security fees, you will not be considered for allotment.

Application Fee and How to Register

All fresh candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee to register. The fee depends on your category. SC, ST, ST-STA category candidates domiciled in Rajasthan pay a reduced fee; all others pay the full amount. Transaction charges are additional and will be added by the payment gateway.

Candidates who were already registered in earlier rounds (Round 1, 2, or 3) do not need to pay the registration fee again—they can proceed directly to document verification if they are eligible. However, if you exited with forfeiture in Round 2 and did not register in Round 3, you are considered a fresh candidate and must pay the fee.

Registration happens online at https://ug.neetrajasthan.com. You must complete both Part 1 and Part 2 of the application form and submit them by 05.11.2026, 8:00 PM. The fee must be deposited by 05.11.2026, 4:00 PM—note that the fee deadline is 4 hours earlier than the form submission deadline.

  • Fresh candidates: INR 2,500 (INR 1,500 for SC, ST, ST-STA category candidates of Rajasthan state domicile) + transaction charges
  • Already registered candidates eligible for stray round: No registration fee required
  • Payment method: Online only, via the official website
  • Both Part 1 and Part 2 of the application form must be completed and submitted

Document Verification: What You Must Submit and When

Document verification is mandatory. If you do not verify your documents in person at SMS Medical College, Jaipur, you cannot proceed to choice filling and will not be considered for allotment. This is not optional. You must bring all original documents and a prescribed bond (available on the website) to the Academic Block, SMS Medical College, Jaipur, between 06 and 07 November 2026, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The board will keep your original documents after verification. You will not get them back until you join a college or the round ends. This is standard practice in Rajasthan counselling. You must also sign a bond at the time of document submission; if you do not submit the bond, you will be declared ineligible for the special stray round.

Bring all documents listed in the Information Booklet (available on the website). The notice does not list every document here, so you must download the Information Booklet from https://ug.neetrajasthan.com and check the complete list. Common documents include NEET admit card, NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets, caste certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate, and any other eligibility documents specified in the booklet.

  • Attend document verification in person at Academic Block, SMS Medical College, Jaipur
  • Dates: 06–07.11.2026, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Bring all original documents as listed in the Information Booklet
  • Bring the prescribed bond (download from website) and sign it at the time of submission
  • Bring 2 copies of your application form and 2 sets of photocopies of all relevant documents (as per Information Booklet)
  • The board will retain your original documents after verification
  • Failure to verify documents or submit the bond will result in ineligibility for the special stray round

Security Deposit: Amounts and Who Must Pay

A security deposit is a sum of money you must deposit to be considered for allotment. It is not a fee—it is refundable if you join a seat and complete the course, or if you do not get allotted. However, if you are allotted a seat and do not join, the deposit is forfeited. The amount depends on the type of seat and course you are applying for.

All newly registered and re-registered candidates must deposit the applicable security amount. If you deposited security in Round 1 or Round 2 and were not allotted a seat, you do not need to deposit again—but you must deposit the applicable difference amount if you are now applying for a different type of seat (e.g., if you deposited for a government seat but now want to apply for a private seat). If your security was forfeited in Round 2 because you did not join, you must deposit the full amount again.

Deposit the security amount online between 07 and 10 November 2026, by 5:00 PM on 10.11.2026. If you do not deposit by this deadline, you will not be considered for allotment on any seat type in any college.

  • Rs. 2,00,000 for candidates opting for Management Seat (MBBS) in Government Society Colleges or RUHS CMS
  • Rs. 5,00,000 for candidates opting for MBBS in Private Medical Colleges

  • Candidates depositing Rs. 2,00,000 or Rs. 5,00,000 are automatically eligible to fill choices for Government Medical/Dental Colleges, Government Society Medical Colleges, RUHS CMS, RUHS CDS, ESIC MC, and Private Dental Colleges
  • Deposit window: 07–10.11.2026, by 5:00 PM on 10.11.2026
  • Payment method: Online only

Choice Filling: The Critical Step You Must Not Skip

This is the most important step and the one where most candidates make mistakes. You must fill fresh choices in the special stray round. Any choices you filled in earlier rounds (Round 1, 2, 3, or stray vacancy round) will be automatically deleted and will not be considered. If you do not fill fresh choices in this round, you will not be considered for allotment, even if you are eligible and have verified your documents and deposited security.

Choice filling opens on 07.11.2026 and closes on 10.11.2026 at 11:45 PM. After 11:45 PM on 10.11.2026, the system will auto-lock and you will not be able to change your choices. You can fill, save, and change your choices as many times as you want before the auto-lock, but once it locks, your last saved choices are final.

  • You must fill fresh choices; earlier choices are automatically deleted
  • You can fill, save, and change choices multiple times before auto-lock
  • After auto-lock, your last saved choices are final and cannot be changed
  • Choice filling is enabled only for candidates whose documents are verified and bond is deposited
  • If you do not fill fresh choices, you will not be considered for allotment

Allotment, Printing, and Fee Deposit

The allotment result (provisional) will be published on 11.11.2026. You must check the website to see if you have been allotted a seat. If you have been allotted, you will need to print your allotment letter online. Printing is available from 12–16.11.2026 and will be disabled at 2:00 PM on 16.11.2026. Do not delay—print your letter as soon as possible.

After printing your allotment letter, you must deposit the prescribed one-year tuition fee at the allotted college. This fee is separate from the security deposit and is the actual course fee for the first year. The fee deposit window is 12–16.11.2026, and it closes at 2:00 PM on 16.11.2026. The exact fee amount depends on the college and course; refer to the college fee structure on the website or the order dated 19.05.2022 of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in civil appeal no. 3978-3995/2017.

After depositing the fee, you must report to your allotted college desk at the Academic Block, SMS Medical College, Jaipur, with your allotment letter printout, all original documents, required bonds, 2 copies of your application form, 2 sets of photocopies of all relevant documents, and 4 copies of your allotment letter and fee receipt. Reporting must be done between 13 and 16 November 2026, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. If you do not report by this deadline, your seat will be cancelled and your security deposit will be forfeited.

  • Allotment result published: 11.11.2026
  • Print allotment letter: 12–16.11.2026, disabled at 2:00 PM on 16.11.2026
  • Deposit one-year tuition fee: 12–16.11.2026, closes at 2:00 PM on 16.11.2026
  • Report to college: 13–16.11.2026, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at Academic Block, SMS Medical College, Jaipur
  • Bring: allotment letter printout, all original documents, bonds, 2 copies of application form, 2 sets of photocopies of all documents, 4 copies of allotment letter and fee receipt

What Happens If You Do Not Join or Resign After Joining

If you are allotted a seat in the special stray round but do not join (do not report to the college by 16.11.2026, 4:00 PM), you must fulfill the bond conditions and your security deposit will be forfeited. The bond is a legal document that binds you to certain conditions; read it carefully before signing.

If you join the course after allotment in the special stray round, you are not allowed to resign or return your original documents on or before the last date of admissions as scheduled by MCC/NMC/DCI. In other words, once you join, you must stay in the course for the full duration. Resignation is not permitted during the admission period. The bond conditions will apply to you.

  • Non-joining: Security deposit forfeited, bond conditions apply
  • Joining and then resigning: Not permitted on or before the last date of admissions; bond conditions apply
  • You cannot join two colleges at the same time; if you have joined another college through All India Counselling or any other counselling, you are ineligible for allotment in this round

Common Mistakes That Get Your Application Rejected

The board has listed several conditions that will result in rejection or ineligibility. These are not edge cases—they are common situations. Read them carefully and make sure you do not fall into any of these traps.

First mistake: Not filling fresh choices. If you were registered in an earlier round and filled choices then, those choices are automatically deleted in the special stray round. You must fill new choices, or you will not be considered for allotment. Second mistake: Missing document verification. If you do not attend document verification on 06–07.11.2026, you cannot proceed. Third mistake: Not submitting the bond. The bond is mandatory; if you do not submit it at the time of document verification, you are ineligible. Fourth mistake: Not depositing security by the deadline. If you do not deposit security by 10.11.2026, 5:00 PM, you will not be considered for allotment. Fifth mistake: Applying when you are barred. If you have already joined a seat after Round 3 or stray vacancy round, or if you were allotted a seat in Round 3 or stray vacancy round but did not join, you cannot apply.

  • Not filling fresh choices in the special stray round (earlier choices are deleted)
  • Missing document verification (06–07.11.2026, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)
  • Not submitting the prescribed bond at document verification
  • Not depositing security by 10.11.2026, 5:00 PM
  • Applying when you have already joined a seat after Round 3 or stray vacancy round
  • Applying when you were allotted a seat in Round 3 or stray vacancy round but did not join
  • Applying when you have joined another college through All India Counselling or any other counselling
  • Not reporting to college by 16.11.2026, 4:00 PM (results in forfeiture of security and seat cancellation)
