Unlock My College ListWhat is the 5th Round of BDS Counselling?
The 5th Round is the final counselling round for BDS admission in Punjab under NEET UG 2026. It is designed for candidates who have not yet been allotted a seat, or who were allotted a seat in an earlier round but did not report to the college. This round fills remaining vacant BDS seats across Punjab's dental colleges.
Unlike earlier rounds, the 5th Round does NOT allow upgradation — meaning if you are allotted a seat, you cannot later try to move to a 'better' college. This is a final-chance round, so your choice of college and category must be carefully considered.
Who is Eligible to Participate in the 5th Round?
You are eligible if you have a valid NEET UG 2026 score and have not already joined or been allotted a seat in any previous round of counselling. You must also meet the eligibility criteria set out in the Punjab NEET UG 2026 counselling prospectus.
You are NOT eligible if you fall into any of these categories:
- You have not registered for the 5th Round.
- You have already joined or are holding a seat allotted to you in any previous round (Rounds 1–4 or Stray Vacancy Round).
- You were allotted a seat in Round 3 or the Stray Vacancy Round but did not report to the allotted college — you cannot participate in Round 5.
- You have already surrendered or joined a seat in any earlier round — once you join, you cannot participate in any further round.

When you register, you must also submit your willingness to participate in the 5th Round along with a security deposit of ₹2,00,000 (two lakh rupees). This security deposit is mandatory for all eligible candidates, whether you are registering fresh or have already registered in an earlier round. The security deposit is refundable after the round concludes, provided you complete the admission process or formally withdraw.
- General Category: ₹5,900 (application fee only)
- SC Category: ₹2,950 (application fee only)
- All candidates: ₹2,00,000 security deposit (refundable)
The Critical Trap: Application Form Lock-In
Once you submit your application form, you can edit or correct it until 5 November 2026. After 5 November, the form is automatically locked and you cannot make any changes. This is a permanent lock — even in future rounds of counselling, no corrections will be allowed.
This means if you enter your name, category, quota, or any other detail incorrectly, you will be stuck with that error. Before you submit, triple-check every field: your name spelling, date of birth, category certificate details, quota (if applicable), and contact information. A single typo in your category or quota can result in your application being rejected or your allotment being cancelled.
- Last date to edit: 5 November 2026 (after this, form auto-locks permanently)
- No corrections allowed after lock-in, even in future rounds
- Check every detail before submitting: name, DOB, category, quota, contact info
How to Register: Step-by-Step Process
Registration is entirely online through the BFUHS University Payment Portal. Follow these steps carefully to avoid rejection.
- Visit the BFUHS admission portal (admission.bfuhsonline.ac.in or the official counselling website).
- Click on '5th Round BDS Counselling' or the relevant link.
- Enter your NEET UG 2026 roll number and password to log in.
- Fill in all required details: name, date of birth, category, quota (if applicable), contact number, email, and address.
- Upload any required documents (e.g., category certificate, if applicable).
- Review all information carefully — this is your last chance to edit.
- Pay the application fee (₹5,900 for General, ₹2,950 for SC) through the payment gateway.
- Submit your willingness to participate and pay the ₹2,00,000 security deposit.
- Take a screenshot or print your confirmation receipt — you will need it for college reporting.
Filling Your College & Course Choices
After your application is registered and the provisional merit list is displayed (6 November), you will be invited to fill your choices online. You have from 7 to 9 November 2026 to select your preferred colleges, courses (BDS), quotas, and categories. This is a critical step — your allotment will be based on your choices and your merit rank.
You can list multiple colleges in order of preference. The counselling system will allot you a seat at the highest-ranked college on your list for which you are eligible based on your NEET rank and category. Since this is the 5th Round and seats are limited, be realistic about your choices. Refer to the vacancy position displayed on 3 November to see which colleges have seats available.
- Choice filling window: 7–9 November 2026
- You can select multiple colleges in order of preference
- Allotment is based on your rank, category, and choice order
- Check the vacancy list (displayed 3 Nov) to see which colleges have seats
- No upgradation allowed — your allotted seat is final
Seat Allotment & How It Works
After you submit your choices, the university will process the allotment on 10 November 2026. The provisional seat allotment result will be displayed on the same day. You will be allotted a seat at one of the colleges you chose, based on your NEET rank, category, and the order of your preferences.

If you believe there is an error in your allotment (e.g., you were allotted a college you did not choose, or your category was wrongly applied), you can submit an objection. Objections must be submitted in person at the BFUHS Admission Branch, Faridkot, by 11 November 2026 at 3:00 PM. You must bring all relevant supporting documents (e.g., category certificate, NEET admit card, allotment letter). Objections by email, post, or any other mode will not be accepted. After objections are considered, a revised allotment will be displayed on 11 November.

Reporting to Your Allotted College
Once you receive your allotment, you must report to the allotted college between 12 and 16 November 2026. This is a mandatory step — if you do not report within this window, your seat will be cancelled and you will lose your admission.
When you report, you must bring all original documents for verification, undergo a medical examination, and pay the first six months' fee through the University Payment Gateway. The college will verify your NEET score, category certificate, educational qualifications, and other documents. Only after successful verification and medical clearance will your admission be confirmed.
- Reporting window: 12–16 November 2026 (strict deadline)
- Bring all original documents for verification
- Undergo medical examination at the college
- Pay six months' fee through University Payment Gateway
- Failure to report will result in cancellation of your seat
- Complete all joining formalities within the stipulated time
Documents You Must Bring to College
When you report to your allotted college for document verification, bring all original documents listed below. Missing even one document can delay or jeopardize your admission. Make photocopies as well — the college may ask for them.
- NEET UG 2026 admit card (original)
- NEET UG 2026 score card / result (original)
- Class 10 & 12 mark sheets and certificates (originals)
- Category certificate (if SC/ST/OBC) — issued by the competent authority (original)
- Caste validity certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile certificate (if required by Punjab)
- Medical fitness certificate (if required)
- Character certificate from your school/college
- Passport-size photographs (4–6 copies)
- Aadhaar card or any government-issued ID
- Allotment letter from BFUHS
- Proof of fee payment (application fee & security deposit receipt)
No Upgradation & No Seat Surrender
This is a critical rule for the 5th Round: upgradation of seats is NOT allowed. This means once you are allotted a seat at a college, you cannot later try to move to a different or 'better' college. Your allotted seat is final. If you are unhappy with your allotment, you must decide before reporting to the college — once you report and join, you cannot change your college.
Additionally, if you have already joined or been allotted a seat in any previous round, you cannot surrender that seat to participate in the 5th Round. The rule is strict: once you join, you are committed to that college for the entire course. This is to prevent seat wastage and ensure fair allocation to other candidates.
- No upgradation allowed in 5th Round — allotted seat is final
- Cannot move to a different college after allotment
- Cannot surrender a seat from a previous round to participate in Round 5
- Once you join, you are committed to that college for the entire course
Common Mistakes That Get Applications Rejected
Many candidates lose their seats due to preventable errors. Here are the most common mistakes — avoid them at all costs.
- Entering the wrong category or quota — the form locks on 5 Nov, so you cannot correct it later.
- Misspelling your name or entering the wrong date of birth — these must match your NEET admit card exactly.
- Uploading an invalid or expired category certificate — it must be issued by the competent authority and be current.
- Not paying the full application fee or security deposit — incomplete payment means your registration is invalid.
- Missing the registration deadline (5 Nov) — late registrations are not accepted.
- Not submitting objections in person at the BFUHS Admission Branch — email or post objections are rejected.
- Not reporting to the college by 16 November — your seat will be cancelled.
- Bringing incomplete documents to college — missing even one document can delay verification.
- Assuming you can edit your form after 5 November — the form auto-locks and no corrections are allowed.
- Trying to upgrade your seat or move to a different college — upgradation is not permitted in Round 5.

See My CollegesFrequently asked questions
Can I participate in the 5th Round if I was allotted a seat in Round 3 but did not report?
No. If you were allotted a seat in Round 3 or the Stray Vacancy Round but did not report to the college, you are not eligible for the 5th Round. The rule is designed to prevent candidates from repeatedly skipping allotments. You have forfeited your chance to participate further.
What is the security deposit of ₹2,00,000 and will I get it back?
The ₹2,00,000 security deposit is a mandatory payment to confirm your serious participation in the 5th Round. It is refundable after the round concludes, provided you complete the admission process or formally withdraw. If you join the college and complete the joining formalities, the deposit will be adjusted or refunded as per the university's policy. Do not confuse it with the application fee — both are separate payments.
I made a typo in my category while registering. Can I correct it after 5 November?
No. The application form auto-locks on 5 November 2026 at the stipulated time, and no corrections are allowed after that — not even in future rounds. This is a permanent lock. You must carefully verify all details, especially your category, before submitting. If you made an error, you may need to contact the BFUHS Admission Branch immediately (before 5 Nov) to request a correction, but there is no guarantee it will be granted.
Can I upgrade my seat to a better college after I am allotted one in the 5th Round?
No. Upgradation is not permitted in the 5th Round. Once you are allotted a seat, it is final. You cannot move to a different college, even if a better option becomes available. This is why you must carefully fill your college choices — think through your preferences before submitting.
What if I disagree with my allotment? How do I file an objection?
If you believe there is an error in your allotment (e.g., wrong college, wrong category applied), you must submit an objection in person at the BFUHS Admission Branch, Faridkot, by 11 November 2026 at 3:00 PM. Bring all relevant supporting documents (category certificate, NEET admit card, allotment letter, etc.). Objections by email, post, or any other mode will not be accepted. After objections are reviewed, a revised allotment will be displayed on 11 November.
What happens if I do not report to my allotted college by 16 November?
If you do not report to your allotted college between 12 and 16 November 2026, your seat will be cancelled. You will lose your admission and will not be eligible for any further counselling rounds. Reporting is mandatory and the deadline is strict — do not miss it.
I have already joined a college in Round 4. Can I participate in the 5th Round?
No. If you have already joined or been allotted a seat in any previous round (Rounds 1–4 or Stray Vacancy Round), you are not eligible for the 5th Round. Additionally, you cannot surrender your seat to participate in Round 5. Once you join, you are committed to that college for the entire course.
What documents do I need to bring when I report to the college?
Bring all original documents: NEET admit card and score card, Class 10 & 12 certificates, category certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate, medical fitness certificate (if required), character certificate, passport-size photographs, Aadhaar card, allotment letter, and proof of fee payment. Missing documents can delay or jeopardize your admission. Make photocopies as well.
Is the application fee different for SC candidates?
Yes. General Category candidates pay ₹5,900 (₹5,000 + 18% GST). SC category candidates pay ₹2,950 (₹2,500 + 18% GST). Both amounts include GST. Additionally, all candidates must pay a ₹2,00,000 security deposit, which is the same for all categories.
When will I know my allotment result?
The provisional seat allotment result will be displayed on 10 November 2026. If you submit an objection and it is upheld, a revised allotment will be displayed on 11 November 2026. Check the BFUHS admission portal regularly for updates.
Can I fill my college choices after 9 November?
No. The choice-filling window is strictly from 7 to 9 November 2026. After 9 November, the portal will close and you will not be able to submit or modify your choices. Plan ahead and submit your choices well before the deadline.
What if my category certificate is expired or invalid?
An expired or invalid category certificate will result in your application being rejected or your allotment being cancelled. Your category certificate must be issued by the competent authority (District Magistrate or equivalent) and must be current. If your certificate is about to expire, renew it before registering. Bring the original certificate when you report to the college for verification.
Register immediately on the BFUHS admission portal between 4 and 5 November 2026 — do not delay. Pay the application fee (₹5,900 for General, ₹2,950 for SC) and the ₹2,00,000 security deposit. Correct any errors in your form by 5 November, as the form will auto-lock after that and no further changes are allowed. Fill your college choices carefully between 7 and 9 November, keeping in mind that upgradation is not permitted. Check your allotment on 10 November, and if needed, file an objection in person at the BFUHS Admission Branch by 11 November at 3:00 PM. Finally, report to your allotted college between 12 and 16 November with all original documents for verification, medical examination, and fee payment. Missing any deadline will result in cancellation of your seat.
