Rajasthan NEET UG 2026: Round-2 Seat Resignation Window (2–3 Oct)

Rajasthan State Counselling Board opens a 2-day window (2–3 Oct, 10 AM–5 PM) for candidates who got MCC AIQ Round-3 seats to resign their joined Round-2 state seats. Physical reporting to college is mandatory; manual resignations are void. Resigning forfeits your deposit and bars you from all future state counselling rounds.

The Rajasthan State NEET UG Medical/Dental Counselling Board has opened a narrow, time-critical window for a specific group of candidates: those who joined a seat in Round-2 of state counselling AND have now been allotted a seat in MCC All India Quota (AIQ) Round-3. If you are in this situation and want to upgrade to your AIQ seat, you must resign your state seat in person at your college on 2nd or 3rd October 2026 between 10 AM and 5 PM. This is not optional—the process has strict rules, and missing the deadline or failing to follow the exact procedure will result in your resignation being rejected. Critically, resigning also means you lose your security deposit and can never participate in any future rounds of Rajasthan state counselling.

If you got an MCC AIQ Round-3 seat and want to leave your joined Round-2 state seat, you must physically report to your college on 2–3 October (10 AM–5 PM) with your AIQ allotment letter and ensure the college generates your resignation slip online—manual resignations are void, and you forfeit your deposit and all future state counselling eligibility.

Who This Notice Applies To

This resignation window is ONLY for candidates who meet both of these conditions: (1) you have already joined and reported to a state medical or dental college in Round-2 of Rajasthan state counselling, AND (2) you have been newly allotted a seat in MCC All India Quota (AIQ) Round-3.

If you joined a state seat in Round-2 but did NOT get an AIQ Round-3 seat, this notice does not apply to you. If you got an AIQ seat but never joined a state seat, you also do not need to follow this procedure. This window exists only to allow the specific group of candidates who have both a state seat and an AIQ seat to upgrade to the AIQ seat by formally resigning the state seat.

Critical Dates and Timing

The resignation window is open on exactly two days: 2nd October 2026 and 3rd October 2026. On both days, you can report to your college between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Indian Standard Time). After 5:00 PM on 3rd October 2026, the window closes permanently. No requests, physical documentation, or reporting will be accepted after this deadline—not even one minute late.

Because today is 2nd October 2026, you have only today and tomorrow to complete this process. If you are eligible and wish to resign, do not delay. Plan to visit your college during business hours on one of these two days.

  • Resignation window opens: 2nd October 2026, 10:00 AM
  • Resignation window closes: 3rd October 2026, 5:00 PM (strict, no extensions)
  • Hours available each day: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST

What You Must Do: Step-by-Step Procedure

The resignation process has three mandatory steps, and you must follow each one exactly. Skipping any step or doing it incorrectly will result in your resignation being rejected.

Step 1: Physical Reporting. You must physically go to the state medical or dental college where you currently joined and reported in Round-2. You cannot resign by email, phone, post, or any remote method. You must be present in person at the college during the window (2–3 October, 10 AM–5 PM).

Step 2: Present Your MCC Round-3 Allotment Letter. When you arrive at the college, you must show the college authorities your official MCC Round-3 Allotment Letter. This is your proof that you have been allotted an AIQ seat and are eligible to resign your state seat. Do not lose this letter; bring the original or a certified copy.

Step 3: Online Generation of Resignation Slip. This is the most critical step. It is YOUR responsibility—not the college's—to ensure that the college generates your resignation letter or seat withdrawal slip ONLINE via the official counselling portal. The college will help you, but you must verify that the slip has been generated online. Manual, handwritten, or offline resignations are treated as null and void and will not be accepted. If the college generates a handwritten slip or you sign a paper form without an online slip being generated, your resignation will be invalid.

  • Go physically to your joined state college
  • Bring your official MCC Round-3 Allotment Letter
  • Ask the college to generate your resignation slip online via the official counselling portal
  • Verify that the online slip has been generated before you leave
  • Do NOT accept a manual, handwritten, or offline resignation slip

Documents You Must Bring

You need only one document to complete the resignation process: your official MCC Round-3 Allotment Letter. This is the letter issued by the Medical Counselling Committee confirming that you have been allotted a seat in All India Quota Round-3. Bring the original or a certified photocopy. The college will verify this document to confirm your eligibility to resign.

  • Official MCC Round-3 Allotment Letter (original or certified copy)

The Trap: Manual Resignations Are Void

This is the single most important trap in this notice. Many candidates may assume that signing a resignation form at the college is enough. It is not. The notice explicitly states: 'Manual, handwritten, or offline resignations will be treated as null and void.' This means if the college gives you a handwritten form to sign, or if you sign a paper resignation without an online slip being generated on the counselling portal, your resignation will NOT be accepted. You will remain joined to the state seat, and you will lose your AIQ seat.

The college is responsible for generating the slip online, but YOU are responsible for ensuring it happens. Before you leave the college, ask the college staff to show you the online slip on the portal. Get a copy or screenshot if possible. Do not leave until you have confirmation that the online slip has been generated. If the college says 'we will do it later' or 'we will send it to you', do not accept that. It must be done while you are there.

What Happens After You Resign: Penalties and Consequences

If you successfully resign your Round-2 state seat using this window, two major consequences follow. First, your security deposit (the money you paid when you joined the state seat) will be completely forfeited. You will not get this money back. This is in line with MCC guidelines and is non-negotiable.

Second, and more serious: you will be permanently barred from participating in any subsequent rounds of Rajasthan State NEET UG 2026 Counselling. This means if your AIQ seat does not work out for any reason, or if you change your mind later, you cannot go back to state counselling. You cannot participate in Round-3, Round-4, or any future round of state counselling. Your exit from state counselling is permanent and irreversible. Think very carefully before you resign.

Who Should Resign and Who Should Not

You should resign your Round-2 state seat ONLY if you are confident that you want to join the MCC AIQ seat you have been allotted. The AIQ seat should be in a course (MBBS or BDS), college, and location that you genuinely prefer over your current state seat. Remember: once you resign, you cannot go back to state counselling.

You should NOT resign if: (1) you are unsure about the AIQ seat or the college, (2) the AIQ seat is in a course or location you do not want, (3) you are worried about the quality or reputation of the AIQ college, or (4) you think you might get a better state seat in a future round. If any of these apply, keep your state seat and skip this resignation window.

Important: This Is a Rajasthan State Process

This resignation window is managed by the Rajasthan State NEET UG Medical/Dental Counselling Board, based at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. It applies only to candidates who joined state seats in Rajasthan state counselling. If you joined a seat in a different state's counselling, this notice does not apply to you. Each state has its own counselling process and rules.

The notice references MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) guidelines because MCC manages All India Quota seats, but the resignation procedure itself is a Rajasthan state requirement. If you have questions, contact the Rajasthan Counselling Board at chairmanneetug2026@gmail.com.

What If You Miss the Deadline?

If you do not resign by 5:00 PM on 3rd October 2026, you will remain joined to your Round-2 state seat. You will not be able to join your MCC AIQ Round-3 seat. The notice is explicit: 'No requests, physical documentation, or reporting will be entertained after 5:00 PM on 3rd October 2026.' There are no exceptions, no extensions, and no appeals. The deadline is absolute.

If you miss the deadline, your only option is to remain in the state seat you joined in Round-2. You cannot upgrade to the AIQ seat after the window closes.

Frequently asked questions

I joined a state seat in Round-2 and got an AIQ seat in Round-3. Can I resign my state seat and join the AIQ seat?

Yes, but only if you do so within the resignation window: 2nd and 3rd October 2026, between 10 AM and 5 PM. You must physically report to your state college with your MCC Round-3 Allotment Letter and ensure the college generates your resignation slip online via the counselling portal. Manual resignations are not accepted. After you resign, you will lose your security deposit and can never participate in future rounds of Rajasthan state counselling.

What documents do I need to bring to resign?

You need only your official MCC Round-3 Allotment Letter (the letter from the Medical Counselling Committee confirming your AIQ seat allotment). Bring the original or a certified copy. The college will verify this to confirm you are eligible to resign.

Can I resign by email, phone, or post, or do I have to go to the college in person?

You must go to the college in person. The notice explicitly states that you must 'physically report' to your joined state college. Remote resignations (email, phone, post) are not accepted. You must be present at the college during the window (2–3 October, 10 AM–5 PM).

What if the college gives me a handwritten resignation form to sign instead of generating an online slip?

Do not accept it. The notice is clear: 'Manual, handwritten, or offline resignations will be treated as null and void.' You must ensure the college generates your resignation slip online via the official counselling portal. If the college only offers a handwritten form, ask them to generate the online slip. Do not leave the college until the online slip has been generated.

What happens to my security deposit if I resign?

Your security deposit will be completely forfeited. You will not get this money back. This is in line with MCC guidelines and is non-negotiable.

If I resign my state seat, can I go back to state counselling if my AIQ seat doesn't work out?

No. Once you resign, you will be permanently barred from participating in any subsequent rounds of Rajasthan State NEET UG 2026 Counselling. Your exit from state counselling is permanent and irreversible. You cannot rejoin state counselling under any circumstances.

What is the deadline for resigning, and what happens if I miss it?

The deadline is 5:00 PM on 3rd October 2026. After this time, no resignations will be accepted—not even one minute late. There are no extensions or exceptions. If you miss the deadline, you will remain joined to your Round-2 state seat and will not be able to join your AIQ seat.

I got an AIQ seat but never joined a state seat. Do I need to follow this procedure?

No. This resignation window is only for candidates who have already joined a state seat in Round-2. If you never joined a state seat, there is nothing to resign, and this notice does not apply to you.

Does this apply to candidates from other states, or only Rajasthan?

This applies only to candidates who joined state seats in Rajasthan state counselling. If you joined a seat in a different state's counselling, this notice does not apply to you. Each state has its own counselling process and rules.

Can I resign on any day, or only on 2nd and 3rd October?

You can resign only on 2nd October 2026 and 3rd October 2026, between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. These are the only two days the window is open. After 5:00 PM on 3rd October, the window closes permanently.

Who should I contact if I have questions about this process?

You can email the Rajasthan State NEET UG Medical/Dental Counselling Board at chairmanneetug2026@gmail.com. However, given the tight deadline (only 2 days), it is faster to visit your college directly and complete the resignation in person.

What if my college is far away and I cannot reach it in time?

You must make the effort to reach your college during the window (2–3 October, 10 AM–5 PM). The notice allows no exceptions or extensions. If you cannot reach your college in time, you will miss the deadline and will not be able to resign. Plan your travel now if you are eligible and wish to resign.

If you joined a state seat in Round-2 and have been allotted an MCC AIQ seat in Round-3, and you want to upgrade to the AIQ seat, you must act immediately. Visit your joined state college on 2nd or 3rd October 2026 between 10 AM and 5 PM with your MCC Round-3 Allotment Letter. Ensure the college generates your resignation slip online via the counselling portal—do not accept a handwritten slip. Remember: resigning forfeits your deposit and permanently bars you from all future rounds of Rajasthan state counselling. Make this decision carefully. The deadline is 5:00 PM on 3rd October 2026, and there are no extensions.
