What is the Stray Round and who is eligible?

The Stray Round is the final round of counselling for NEET UG admissions in Puducherry. It is open to all NEET-qualified candidates who have paid the full tuition fee and have not yet been allotted a seat in earlier rounds (Round 1, Round 2, or Round 3). This round fills any remaining seats in MBBS, BDS and BAMS courses across Government and Management colleges in Puducherry.

To be considered for Stray Round allotment, you must have paid the complete tuition fee as per the fee structure uploaded on the CENTAC website. Only candidates who have made this payment are included in the allotment process. If you have not paid the full fee, you will not appear in this list.

How to check if you are allotted and download your allotment order

Log in to the CENTAC dashboard using your credentials (the same login you used during earlier counselling rounds). Once logged in, you can check the status of your allotment and see which college and course you have been allotted. The allotment order is available for download immediately after you log in.

Keep your allotment order safe — you will need to print it and carry it with you when you report to your college. The allotment order is your proof of admission and must be presented to the college Principal along with all your original certificates.

  • Visit www.centacpuducherry.in
  • Log in with your NEET registration number and password
  • Check your allotment status on the dashboard
  • Download and print your allotment order
  • Keep it safe for college reporting

Critical: The joining deadline is 26 October 2026, 5 PM

This is the most important date. You must report to the Principal of your allotted college on or before 26 October 2026 at 5 PM. After this deadline, your seat will be considered forfeited and you will lose your admission. There is no extension or grace period — the deadline is absolute.

Do not delay. If you are allotted a seat, make arrangements immediately to travel to your college and complete the joining formalities. Waiting until the last moment risks missing the deadline due to travel delays, document issues, or administrative hold-ups at the college.

What documents you must carry when you join

When you report to your allotted college, you must bring ALL original certificates. Admission is strictly subject to the production of all requisite original certificates and completion of admission formalities. The college will not admit you without these documents, even if you arrive before the deadline.

Original certificates typically include your NEET admit card, NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), income certificate (if applicable), medical fitness certificate, and any other documents specified in the admission brochure. Do not bring photocopies — the college will verify originals.

  • NEET admit card (original)
  • NEET scorecard (original)
  • 10th mark sheet and certificate (original)
  • 12th mark sheet and certificate (original)
  • Caste certificate if applicable (original)
  • Income certificate if applicable (original)
  • Medical fitness certificate (original)
  • Allotment order (downloaded and printed)
  • Any other documents mentioned in the admission brochure

Fee payment and what you need to know

The fee structure for MBBS, BDS and BAMS courses for 2026-27 has been uploaded on the CENTAC website. Only candidates who have paid the full tuition fee have been considered for Stray Round allotment. If you are allotted a seat, you have already paid this fee, so you can directly report to the college without making any additional payment at this stage.

The tuition fee you paid during the counselling process will now be transferred to your allotted college. If you paid more than the tuition fee for your allotted course, the balance amount will be refunded to you as per the refund schedule mentioned in the admission brochure.

  • Full tuition fee must have been paid to be allotted
  • Fee is transferred to your allotted college
  • Any balance fee will be refunded
  • Check the fee structure on www.centacpuducherry.in

Refund and forfeiture rules: what happens to your fee

The rules for refund and forfeiture of your registration and tuition fees depend on what you do after receiving your allotment. It is critical to understand these rules before making any decision about joining or declining your seat.

  • If you are NOT allotted any seat: Your full tuition fee will be refunded as per the refund schedule in the brochure.
  • If you ARE allotted and JOIN the course: Your tuition fee for that course will be transferred to the college. Any balance fee you paid will be refunded.
  • If you ARE allotted but DECLINE or DO NOT JOIN: Your tuition fee for the allotted course will be forfeited (you lose it completely). You will not get any refund.
  • For Puducherry EBC/SC/ST/GSS candidates: Registration fee will be refunded ONLY if you join the allotted seat. If you decline, the registration fee is also forfeited.
  • If you were admitted in Round 1, Round 2 or Round 3: You CANNOT withdraw or resign from your admitted seat. You are locked into that admission.

Important trap: Candidates from earlier rounds cannot withdraw

If you were already admitted in Round 1, Round 2, or Round 3, you are NOT eligible to participate in the Stray Round. You cannot withdraw from your earlier admission to try for a different seat in Stray Round. Your admission in the earlier round is final and binding.

This rule exists to prevent candidates from gaming the system by withdrawing from a confirmed seat to chase a 'better' college in the final round. If you are already admitted, you must join that seat.

Important legal note: One seat is subject to court proceedings

The notice states: 'Admission to one allotted seat will be subject to outcome of W.A.No.2674 of 2026 pending on the file of the Hon'ble High Court at Madras.' This means one specific seat in the allotment list is currently under legal challenge in the High Court. If you have been allotted this particular seat, your admission may be affected depending on the court's decision.

If you are unsure whether your allotted seat is the one under legal challenge, contact CENTAC immediately using the helpline or the grievances option in your dashboard. Do not assume your seat is safe without clarification.

  • One seat is under High Court review (W.A.No.2674 of 2026)
  • Admission to that seat is conditional on the court's outcome
  • Contact CENTAC if you are unsure whether your seat is affected

How to contact CENTAC if you have questions or problems

If you have any doubts, grievances, or technical issues, CENTAC provides multiple ways to reach them. You can submit queries directly through the Grievances option in your login dashboard — this is the fastest way to get a response. You can also call the helpline numbers provided.

  • Website: www.centacpuducherry.in
  • Grievances option: Use the 'Grievances' tab in your login dashboard
  • Helpline: 0413-2655570 or 0413-2655571
  • SMS: You will also receive SMS updates about your allotment
