NTRUHS AP MBBS Phase-1 Counselling 2026-27: Web Options Notification, Schedule and College List

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada, has issued the notification for Phase-I of web-based counselling for MBBS admissions under the Competent Authority Quota (CAQ) — the seats the Andhra Pradesh government fills through its own state counselling — for the 2026-27 academic year. This follows the university's earlier notification of 05 August 2026 and the display of the Final Merit List on 29 August 2026. Every candidate whose name appears on that merit list can now log in and submit their prioritised college choices, called 'web options'. This is not a result or an allotment — it is the stage where you tell the university which colleges you want, in order of preference, before seats are actually allotted. The window is short, so candidates need to act quickly and carefully.

What this notification is and who it applies to

This is the Phase-I web options notification for MBBS admissions under Competent Authority Quota (CAQ) seats in Andhra Pradesh for 2026-27. It comes after NTRUHS released the Final Merit List on 29 August 2026.

Only candidates whose names appear in that Final Merit List are eligible to exercise web options in this round. If your name is on the list, you can log in and choose colleges; if it is not, you cannot participate in this phase.

Exercising web options is only a preference submission. The notification explicitly states that submitting options does not give any automatic right to a seat — actual allotment depends on your rank, category, and the availability of seats in the colleges you choose.

Which seats are covered in this round

This Phase-I round covers Competent Authority Quota seats — including special category seats such as PwBD, PMC, CAP, Scouts & Guides and Anglo-Indian — across five groups of colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

• Seats in Government Medical and Government Dental Colleges in AP, affiliated to Dr. NTRUHS, after 15% of seats have already been contributed to the All India Quota (AIQ).
• General category seats (50% of intake, after the 15% AIQ contribution) in the Government Medical Colleges permitted to admit students from 2023-24 onwards, under G.O.Ms.No.107, HM & FW (C1) Dept., dated 19.07.2023.
• Category 'A' seats (50% of intake) in Private Un-aided Non-Minority Medical and Dental Colleges in AP.
• Category 'A' seats (50% of intake) in Private Un-aided Minority Medical and Dental Colleges in AP.
• 126 MBBS seats in Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (under SVIMS), Tirupati.

Special category seats: PwBD, PMC, CAP, Scouts & Guides, Anglo-Indian

Candidates eligible under special categories — Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), Physically Meritorious Candidate (PMC), Children of Armed Personnel (CAP), Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), and Anglo-Indian — must exercise their prioritised options along with regular colleges in this same Phase-I round.

Before submitting options, these candidates must check the seat matrix published on the university website to confirm exactly which colleges have special category seats available, since not every college carries every special category seat.

Important exception: seats reserved for NCC and Sports & Games categories will NOT be filled in this Phase-I round. They will be filled later, after the university receives the final list of eligible candidates from the concerned departments.

How many colleges to choose and in what order

There is no limit on the number of web options a candidate can submit. The university strongly advises candidates to opt for the maximum number of colleges — preferably all eligible colleges — arranged strictly in the order of preference, to maximise the chance of getting a seat allotment.

The number of eligible colleges depends on gender and minority status, as shown below. Minority (Muslim) candidates have access to two additional colleges compared to non-minority candidates of the same gender, reflecting minority-quota seats.

Step-by-step: how to exercise web options

Follow these steps carefully — once you submit your final list, it locks and cannot be changed.

• Read the 'Instructions on Counselling Procedure' on the university website first — it explains area categorisation, candidate categorisation by area, and fee structure/upgradation rules.
• Check the area-wise seat matrix published on the website before choosing your colleges.
• Go through the prospectus and the relevant Government Orders on UG admission rules, also available on the website.
• Log in on the portal using your credentials; an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile and email for both login and final submission.
• Arrange your chosen colleges strictly in the order you actually prefer them — put your most-wanted college first.
• Submit your options before 4:00 PM on 1 September 2026. Options once submitted are final — no request for change of options or their order will be entertained after the deadline.
• Take a printout of your saved/submitted options for your own record.
• Never share your login ID, password, email, or OTP with anyone — the candidate is fully responsible for any misuse of options exercised from their own login.

After allotment: fee, reporting and upgrade rules

If you are allotted a seat, you will get an SMS on your registered mobile — but the university is not responsible if the message doesn't reach you due to network or phone issues. Always check the status yourself on https://drntr.uhsap.in after the options window closes.

Allotted candidates must download the allotment order, pay a University fee of Rs. 12,600 (which is non-refundable under any circumstances), and report at the allotted college with original certificates within the reporting schedule that will be announced separately.

If you do not join or report at your Phase-I allotted college, you lose eligibility to opt for that same college again in later phases.

Candidates who do join in Phase-I remain eligible for upgradation or 'sliding' to a better college only up to the Phase-III (Mop-Up) round — not beyond.

Tuition fee for the MBBS course is as fixed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for 2026-27; this is separate from the Rs. 12,600 university fee.

Allotment of seats is subject to the affiliation actually granted to each college for 2026-27, and web options must be exercised afresh before each phase of counselling as per G.O.102.

Traps that can cost you your seat

These are the points candidates most often overlook — pay close attention.

• Submitting options does NOT guarantee admission — it is only a preference statement. Seat allotment still depends on rank, category and seat availability.
• If a seat is allotted and you are later found ineligible, the allotment is cancelled automatically, without any prior notice.
• Original certificate verification happens at the college of admission itself. Any discrepancy or ineligibility found there also leads to cancellation of the provisional allotment, again without notice.
• No changes to your submitted web options or their priority order are allowed once the window closes at 4:00 PM on 1 September 2026 — double-check everything before final submission.
• If you don't report/join at your Phase-I allotted college, that specific college becomes unavailable to you in subsequent phases.
• Sharing your OTP, login, or email with anyone (including 'helpers' or agents) makes you responsible for any misuse of your own account.
