The Maharashtra CET Cell has released the Stray Round 2 allotment list for MBBS and BDS seats on 23 October 2026. If you have been allotted a seat, you must report physically at your assigned college by 5:30 PM on 24 October—missing this deadline means your seat will be forfeited and moved to the next stray round. This is a critical window for candidates who did not secure a seat in earlier counselling rounds and are now getting their first opportunity to join a medical college in Maharashtra.

Allotted candidates in Maharashtra Stray Round 2 must report at their college by 5:30 PM on 24 October 2026, or they will lose the seat permanently.

What is Stray Round 2 and who can participate?

Stray rounds are the final opportunity for NEET UG candidates who remain without a seat after the main counselling process concludes. In Maharashtra, Stray Round 2 covers only vacant MBBS and BDS seats (Group A) that were not filled during the regular Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds. These vacancies exist across government colleges, corporation-run institutions, aided colleges, unaided private colleges, and minority institutions across the state.

To be eligible for Stray Round 2, you must not have secured any seat in CAP Round 1, CAP Round 2, CAP Round 3, or Stray Round 1. If you were allotted a seat in any of these earlier rounds, you cannot participate in Stray Round 2. All candidates who participated in Stray Round 2 had to fill fresh college and course preferences; choices made in CAP 3 and Stray Round 1 were automatically cancelled and do not carry forward.

How to check your Stray Round 2 allotment result

This is the most important date in your admission timeline. All candidates allotted a seat in Stray Round 2 must report physically at their assigned college by 5:30 PM on 24 October 2026. Reporting means presenting yourself at the college's admission office with all required documents and completing the initial admission formalities. Simply downloading the allotment letter is not enough—you must physically appear at the college.

If you do not report by the deadline, your seat will be cancelled automatically. The vacant seat will then be added to the Stray Round 3 pool and offered to other candidates. There is no grace period, no extension, and no exceptions to this deadline. Once your seat is cancelled, you lose your place in the Maharashtra counselling process for 2026.

What documents and fees to bring for college reporting

Before you travel to your allotted college, prepare all original documents and self-attested photocopies. You will need your NEET admit card, NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets, caste certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate, and any other documents specified in the allotment letter. Colleges will verify these documents during admission.

You must also arrange the course fee in advance. Most colleges accept payment via demand draft (DD) made in the college's name or through online bank transfer. Check your allotment letter or the college's website for the exact fee amount and payment method. Arriving at the college without the fee ready may delay your admission and put you at risk of missing the reporting deadline.

  • NEET admit card and scorecard
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate
  • Self-attested photocopies of all documents
  • Course fee ready (demand draft or online transfer)

Why the schedule was revised and how it affects you

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) in New Delhi, which manages the All India Quota (AIQ) seats for NEET UG, delayed its final stray round allotment list. The MCC released its updated AIQ stray list on 20 October 2026, which was later than originally planned. Because Maharashtra's state counselling is coordinated with the MCC's national process, the Maharashtra CET Cell had to revise its own Stray Round 2 and Round 3 dates to align with the central delay.

This revision means the reporting deadline for Stray Round 2 was set as 24 October, and Stray Round 3 will follow immediately after. The final joining deadline across all stray rounds remains 26 October 2026 as per MCC rules. If you are allotted in Stray Round 3, you will have only one day (25–26 October) to report at your college. This compressed timeline makes it even more critical to act quickly if you are allotted in Round 2.

What happens if you are not allotted in Round 2?

If your name does not appear in the Stray Round 2 allotment list, you still have one final chance: Stray Round 3. The CET Cell has opened fresh choice filling for Round 3 on 23 October and will accept preferences until 10:00 AM on 24 October. All your previous choices from CAP 3 and Stray Round 1 are now null and void, so you must enter completely new college and course preferences for Round 3.

When filling choices for Round 3, be strategic. Rank colleges and courses in order of your genuine preference, keeping in mind that this is your last opportunity to secure an MBBS or BDS seat in Maharashtra for 2026. The Round 3 allotment list will be released on 24 October, and if you are allotted, you must report at your college between 25 and 26 October. After 26 October, the counselling process closes entirely.
