Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, has released the final seat allocation list for the MBBS/BDS stray round counselling based on NEET UG 2026. The list contains 33 candidates allocated to various government, private, and management-quota medical and dental colleges across Himachal Pradesh. This is the last round of counselling for the 2026-27 admission season. If your name appears on this list, you must report to your allotted college immediately — the deadline is 26 October 2026. This notice also contains critical warnings about category certificate validity that can cost you your seat if ignored.
If you are allocated a seat in this stray round, you must report to your college by 26.10.2026 with valid, updated category certificates in the prescribed format, or you will lose your seat.

Unlock My College ListWhat is the Stray Round and Why Does It Matter?
The stray round is the final counselling round in the NEET UG admission process. It is held after all regular rounds are complete, to fill any remaining vacant seats. Candidates who were not allocated a seat in earlier rounds, or who did not accept their earlier allocation, get one last chance to secure admission in this round.
This stray round is specific to Himachal Pradesh colleges affiliated with AMRU. The allocation is based on your NEET UG 2026 score, your category, and the quota you applied under (HP Quota, Management Quota, or NRI Quota). Once this round closes, no further counselling will be held for the 2026-27 session.
How to Check If You Are Allocated a Seat

Reporting Deadline: 26 October 2026 — Do Not Miss This

If you do not report by this date, your seat will be cancelled and given to the next candidate on the waiting list.
Do not delay. The deadline is just 2 days away from the notice date. Contact your college immediately to confirm the exact time and place for reporting, and the documents you must bring. Failure to report on time will result in automatic forfeiture of your seat.

Critical Trap: Category Certificate Validity and Format — This Can Cost You Your Seat
This is the most important warning in the notice. If you are claiming any reserved category (SC, ST, OBC) or special quota (Children of J&K Migrants, NRI), your category certificate MUST be valid, updated, and in the exact format specified in the AMRU prospectus. If your certificate is outdated, invalid, or in the wrong format, you will NOT be allowed to claim your category benefit, and your seat may be cancelled.
The notice explicitly states: 'In case of any discrepancy, outdated/invalid certificate, or non-submission of the prescribed document, the candidate shall not be entitled to claim the benefit of the respective category/quota.' This means if you applied under SC category but your SC certificate is expired or not in the prescribed format, the college will reject your category claim. You may then be placed in the general category, which could mean losing your seat if a general candidate has a higher score.
Before you report to the college, verify that every certificate you submitted is still valid (has not expired), is in the exact format the prospectus requires, and is an original or certified copy as specified. If any certificate is outdated or in the wrong format, get it updated or re-issued immediately — do not wait until you reach the college.
- ⚠️ Category certificates must be valid and not expired
- ⚠️ Certificates must be in the exact format specified in the AMRU prospectus
- ⚠️ Outdated or invalid certificates will result in loss of category benefit
- ⚠️ Get all certificates updated or re-issued BEFORE reporting to the college
- ✅ Carry original or certified copies as per prospectus requirements
What Documents You Must Carry When Reporting
When you report to your allotted college, you must carry all the documents you submitted during counselling, plus any additional documents the college may require. The notice does not list specific documents, but standard documents for medical/dental admission include your NEET admit card, NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates, your category certificate (if applicable), your provisional allotment letter from AMRU, and any other documents mentioned in the prospectus.
The college will verify all your documents and your category claim during the admission process. If any document is missing or invalid, your admission may be delayed or rejected. Contact your allotted college immediately to ask for the complete list of documents required for reporting.

- NEET scorecard
- 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/Children of J&K Migrants) if applicable
- NRI certificate if applying under NRI quota
- Any other documents specified in the AMRU prospectus
- Contact your college to confirm the exact list
Understanding the Allocation List: Quotas and Categories Explained
The allocation list shows three types of quotas: HP Quota (seats reserved for Himachal Pradesh residents), Management Quota (seats filled by private colleges), and NRI Quota (seats for Non-Resident Indians). Your 'Applied Quota' column shows which quota you applied under, and your 'Admission Type' column shows which quota you have actually been allocated under. In most cases these match, but in some cases (like row 9, where a candidate applied under HP Quota SC but was allocated under Management Quota), they may differ.
Your 'Category of Application' shows the category you applied under (General, OBC, SC, ST, Children of J&K Migrants, or NRI). Your final 'Category' column shows the category under which you have been admitted. Again, these usually match, but discrepancies can occur. If there is a mismatch between your applied quota/category and your allocated quota/category, contact AMRU immediately to clarify.
- HP Quota: seats for Himachal Pradesh residents
- Management Quota: seats filled by private/deemed colleges
- NRI Quota: seats for Non-Resident Indians
- General: open to all candidates
- OBC: Other Backward Classes
- SC: Scheduled Caste
- ST: Scheduled Tribe
- Children of J&K Migrants: special category for children of migrants from Jammu & Kashmir

Important: Provisional Allotment Does Not Guarantee Admission
The notice makes a critical point: 'Provisional allotment of a seat, if any, shall not confer any right of admission, and the final eligibility/category claim shall be subject to verification and approval by the Admission Committee of the concerned Institute.' This means that even though you have been allocated a seat, your admission is not final until the college's Admission Committee verifies all your documents and approves your category claim.
If the college finds that your category certificate is invalid, outdated, or in the wrong format, or if any of your documents are missing or fraudulent, the college can reject your admission. Therefore, it is absolutely critical that you verify the validity and format of all your documents BEFORE reporting to the college, not after.
- Allocation is provisional only — not a guarantee of admission
- Final admission depends on document verification by the college
- The college's Admission Committee has the final say on your eligibility
- Invalid or outdated certificates can result in rejection of your admission
What Happens If You Don't Report by 26 October 2026?
If you do not report to your allotted college by 26 October 2026, your seat will be automatically cancelled. The college will then offer your seat to the next candidate on the waiting list. You will have no further opportunity to claim this seat or appeal the cancellation.
If you have a genuine emergency and cannot report by the deadline, contact AMRU and your college immediately to request an extension. However, extensions are rarely granted, and there is no guarantee that your request will be approved. It is far safer to report on time.
- Non-reporting by 26.10.2026 = automatic seat cancellation
- Your seat will be offered to the next candidate
- No further counselling rounds will be held
- Contact AMRU and your college immediately if you have an emergency

See My CollegesFrequently asked questions
I am on the final seat allocation list. What do I do now?
Download your provisional allotment letter from your AMRU candidate login immediately. Check the letter for your allotted college, course (MBBS or BDS), and quota/category. Then contact your college to confirm the exact date, time, and place for reporting. Verify that all your category certificates are valid and in the prescribed format. Finally, gather all required documents and report to the college by 26 October 2026.
What is the deadline for reporting to the college?
The deadline is 26 October 2026. You must report in person at your allotted college on or before this date. If you do not report by this deadline, your seat will be automatically cancelled and offered to the next candidate. There are no extensions.
My category certificate is 5 years old. Will it be accepted?
The notice does not specify an age limit for category certificates, but it states that certificates must be 'valid, updated and in the prescribed format as specified in the Prospectus.' If your certificate is outdated or expired, the college may reject it. Contact AMRU or your college to ask if your certificate is acceptable, or get a fresh certificate issued to be safe.
I applied under SC category but my allotment shows General category. Why?
This can happen if your SC certificate was not accepted by the system during counselling, or if there was an error in data entry. Check your provisional allotment letter carefully. If there is a discrepancy, contact AMRU immediately to clarify. Do not report to the college until this is resolved.
What documents must I carry when I report to the college?
The notice does not list specific documents, but you should carry your provisional allotment letter, NEET admit card, NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th certificates, your category certificate (if applicable), and any other documents mentioned in the AMRU prospectus. Contact your allotted college to ask for the complete list of documents required for reporting.
If I get allocated a seat, is my admission guaranteed?
No. The notice states that 'provisional allotment of a seat shall not confer any right of admission.' Your final admission depends on the college's Admission Committee verifying all your documents and approving your category claim. If your certificates are invalid or outdated, the college can reject your admission.
What happens if I don't report by 26 October 2026?
Your seat will be automatically cancelled. The college will offer your seat to the next candidate on the waiting list. No further counselling rounds will be held, so you will lose your chance at admission for the 2026-27 session.
Can I get an extension if I cannot report by 26 October 2026?
The notice does not mention extensions. However, if you have a genuine emergency, contact AMRU and your college immediately to request one. Extensions are rarely granted, and there is no guarantee your request will be approved. It is safer to report on time.
I am allocated under Management Quota but applied under HP Quota. Is this normal?
Yes, this can happen. Your allocation depends on the available seats and your merit rank. If you were allocated under a different quota than you applied for, it means that quota had available seats and your rank qualified for it. Check your provisional allotment letter to confirm the details. If you have concerns, contact AMRU.
How do I download my provisional allotment letter?
Log in to the AMRU candidate portal using your application number and password. Your provisional allotment letter will be available in your login. Download it and print a copy. This letter is mandatory proof of your allocation and must be carried to the college when you report.
What if my name is not on the allocation list?
If your name is not on the list, you have not been allocated a seat in this stray round. This means either your rank was not high enough for any available seat, or you did not meet the eligibility criteria for the seats available. No further counselling rounds will be held for 2026-27. You may consider applying in the next admission cycle.
Can I change my allotted college or course?
The notice does not mention any option to change your allocation. Your allocation is final. If you wish to decline your seat, you must inform the college in writing before the reporting deadline. However, once you decline, you cannot claim the seat again.
If your name is on the final seat allocation list, act immediately. Download your provisional allotment letter from the AMRU portal, verify that all your category certificates are valid and in the prescribed format, contact your college to confirm reporting details, and report in person by 26 October 2026. Do not delay — the deadline is just 2 days away, and missing it will result in automatic cancellation of your seat. For any questions, contact AMRU at coemedicaluniv.mandi@gmail.com or 01905-243967.
