What is Management Quota and Who Can Apply

Management Quota seats are reserved for private un-aided medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh and are filled through merit-based counselling conducted by Dr. NTR University. These seats are divided into three sub-categories: S1A/S1B (25% of total intake), S2 NRI (15%), and S3 Institutional (10%). Unlike Competent Authority (government) seats, Management Quota seats are offered by private colleges and are open to candidates who meet NEET PG 2026 eligibility and score requirements.

To be eligible, you must have completed your MBBS degree (recognized by MCC), finished internship by 30 September 2026, and scored at least the minimum NEET PG cutoff for your category. Foreign medical graduates must have passed the FMGE (Screening Test) and hold permanent registration with a State Medical Council. All candidates must be registered with a State Medical Council in India.

NEET PG 2026 Cutoff Scores by Category

Your NEET PG score determines eligibility. The University has set minimum cutoff scores (out of 720) for each category. These are the absolute minimum; scoring above the cutoff does not guarantee a seat—merit ranking and your choice of college/specialty also matter. Note that lower cutoffs for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD are for eligibility only; there are no reserved seats for these categories in Management Quota.

Important Dates: Application Window and Late Fee

The online application portal opens on 19 October 2026 at 4:00 PM and closes on 23 October 2026 at 10:00 PM. During this period, you can submit your application without paying a late fee. If you miss this window, a second opportunity exists on 24 October 2026 only, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, but you must pay an additional late fee of ₹10,000.

After 24 October, the application portal closes completely. No new applications are accepted after this date, and you cannot apply again until Phase III (Mop-Up) counselling, which will have its own separate notification. All dates are tentative and subject to change by the University without notice.

  • Application without late fee: 19 October 2026, 4:00 PM to 23 October 2026, 10:00 PM
  • Application with late fee (₹10,000): 24 October 2026, 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM
  • Portal closes after 24 October; no further applications accepted until Phase III

Registration and Processing Fees

When you submit your online application, you must pay a registration and processing fee. The amount depends on where you completed your MBBS and whether you apply during the regular window or with a late fee. Additionally, if you completed MBBS outside India, you must pay an equivalency verification fee. All fees are non-refundable and will not be adjusted to any future date or round of counselling.

Pay attention to your location category: 'within A.P.' means you completed MBBS in Andhra Pradesh; 'outside A.P.' means another Indian state; 'outside country' means a foreign medical school. Choose the correct category or your fee calculation will be wrong.

Quota Categories Explained: S1A, S1B, S2, and S3

Management Quota seats are divided into three main categories. S1A (15% of 25% = 3.75% of total intake) is open to candidates from anywhere in India and is filled by merit. S1B (85% of 25% = 21.25% of total intake) is reserved exclusively for local candidates from Andhra Pradesh (those from Andhra University or Sri Venkateswara University areas). Any unfilled S1B seats may be opened to all-India candidates only in Phase III (Mop-Up) counselling, after all eligible local candidates have been considered.

S2 (NRI Quota, 15% of total intake) is for foreign students, actual NRI candidates, OCI/PIO cardholders, and children or blood relatives of NRI. S3 (Institutional Quota, 10% of total intake) is for MBBS alumni of the college, employees of the college with at least 6 months service, or children of such employees. All seats are filled by merit based on NEET PG 2026 rank, subject to eligibility and availability.

  • S1A: 15% of Management Quota seats, open to all-India candidates, filled by merit
  • S1B: 85% of Management Quota seats, reserved for local (Andhra Pradesh) candidates, filled by merit
  • S2 (NRI): 15% of total intake, for foreign students, NRI, OCI/PIO, and NRI blood relatives
  • S3 (Institutional): 10% of total intake, for college alumni, employees, or children of employees

Tuition Fee Structure for Management Quota Seats

Once you are allotted a seat, you must pay the tuition fee prescribed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The fee varies by course type (clinical, para-clinical, or pre-clinical) and by quota category (S1 vs. S2/S3). Clinical courses are the most expensive; pre-clinical courses are the least. S2 (NRI) and S3 (Institutional) seats have significantly higher fees than S1 seats. Additionally, all selected candidates must pay a non-refundable University fee of ₹54,600 to download their allotment order.

These are annual fees; you must pay them for each year of your course (3 years for MD/MS, 2 years for Diploma). The fees are non-refundable and will not be adjusted if you leave the course early. If you discontinue your course after joining, you must pay a discontinuation penalty of ₹3,00,000 and will be debarred from PG admissions in Andhra Pradesh for three years.

Four-Phase Counselling Process and Your Path to Admission

After the application deadline, the University will release a provisional merit list based on your NEET PG 2026 rank and eligibility. You will then exercise web options (choices of college and specialty) in Phase I counselling. Seats will be allotted based on merit, your choices, and seat availability. If you are allotted a seat in Phase I and join, you can upgrade to a better option in Phase II or Phase III (Mop-Up). If you are not allotted in Phase I, you can participate in Phase II. If you are still not allotted, you can participate in Phase III (Mop-Up), but you must pay a refundable security deposit of ₹3,00,000 to prevent seat blocking.

In Phase III (Mop-Up), if NRI (S2) seats remain vacant, they are converted to general (S1) seats and filled by merit. If Institutional (S3) seats remain vacant, they are also converted to S1 seats. A final Stray Round is held for any remaining vacancies. Once you join a seat in any phase, you cannot participate in further rounds. If you are allotted in Phase III (Mop-Up) or Stray Round but do not join, you forfeit your security deposit and are barred from future counselling for one year.

  • Phase I: Merit list released; candidates exercise web options; seats allotted by merit and choice
  • Phase II: Candidates who joined Phase I can upgrade; candidates not allotted in Phase I can participate
  • Phase III (Mop-Up): Refundable security deposit of ₹3,00,000 required; unfilled S2 and S3 seats converted to S1; candidates must join or forfeit deposit and face 1-year debarment
  • Stray Round: Final vacancies filled; security deposit required; non-joining results in 1-year debarment

Criminal proceedings may be initiated. ⚠️ **Missing NRI Documents**: If you apply for NRI quota but do not upload the Declaration (Annexure-I) signed by both you and the NRI, or the Family Tree Certificate from the Revenue Authority, your NRI application will be rejected. ⚠️ **No Sponsorship Letter for S3**: If you apply for Institutional Quota (S3) but your college does not issue a sponsorship letter, you cannot be allotted. Ensure your college issues this before the deadline. ⚠️ **Internship Not Completed by 30 September 2026**: If you have not completed your internship by this date, you are ineligible, and your application will be rejected during verification.
