The rank card is your official document confirming your eligibility and ranking for Round 3 seat allocation. It is issued after the board has processed all registrations and payments from candidates who chose to participate in this round. The rank card does not determine your final seat; instead, it qualifies you to participate in the choice-filling process and subsequent allotment.
Round 3 operates on vacancies left after Rounds 1 and 2. This means the available seats and colleges may differ from earlier rounds. Your rank card will reflect your position among all Round 3 candidates, which influences the order in which your preferences are considered during allotment.

Critical Deadline: Choice Filling Closes October 9, 2026, at 11:59 PM

Official 2023–2025 closing ranks and fees, matched to your rank.
Once you have downloaded your rank card, you must proceed to fill, edit, and lock your college and course preferences. The board has set a single, non-negotiable deadline: October 9, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. After this time, the choice-filling portal will close, and no further changes will be allowed.
This deadline applies to all candidates, regardless of when they downloaded their rank card. Waiting until the last moment is risky—technical issues, internet outages, or server congestion near the deadline could prevent you from submitting your choices. It is strongly advisable to complete this step at least 24 hours before the deadline.
How to Approach Your College and Course Selection
Before you log in to fill your choices, take time to research the colleges and courses available in Round 3. Your rank determines the order in which your preferences are processed—the system will try to allocate your first choice, then your second, and so on, based on seat availability and your rank.
Arrange your preferences strategically. Place colleges and courses you genuinely want at the top, in order of preference. Do not leave choices blank; fill as many as possible to maximize your chances of receiving a seat. Once you lock your choices, they cannot be edited, so review them carefully before finalizing.
What Happens After You Lock Your Choices?
After the choice-filling deadline, the board will process all submissions and generate the provisional seat allotment result. This result is scheduled to be released on October 14, 2026. You will be able to download your allotment order from the portal during the window of October 14 to 17, 2026.
If you are allotted a seat, you must then complete document verification and admission formalities on October 16 to 17, 2026. Failure to report during this window may result in forfeiture of your seat. Bring all original documents (10th and 12th certificates, NEET admit card, rank card, and any other documents specified by the board) to the allotted college.

What If You Did Not Register for Round 3?
If you participated in Rounds 1 or 2 but did not register for Round 3, you cannot participate in this round. The registration window for Round 3 closed on October 6, 2026. However, if you were allotted a seat in an earlier round and have already completed admission, you are not eligible to participate in subsequent rounds.
If you are still waiting for a seat and missed Round 3 registration, check whether the board will conduct additional rounds. Some states conduct a stray round or spot round after the main counselling rounds to fill any remaining vacancies. Monitor the official website for announcements.
Common Mistakes to Avoid During Choice Filling
Many candidates make preventable errors that cost them their preferred seats. Being aware of these pitfalls will help you navigate the process smoothly.
- Waiting until the last hour to fill choices—server congestion and technical glitches are common near deadlines
- Not researching colleges and courses beforehand—rushing through choices without understanding the options
- Leaving choice fields blank—always fill as many options as possible to increase your chances
- Arranging choices randomly instead of strategically—place your genuine preferences in order of priority
- Forgetting to lock your choices—submitting without locking means your preferences are not finalized
- Not saving a copy of your submitted choices—keep a screenshot or PDF for your records
- Ignoring the document verification date—missing this step forfeits your seat even if allotted

If you encounter problems downloading your rank card or filling your choices, contact the BCECEB helpline or visit the official website for support.
