Unlock My College ListWhat is the Stray Vacancy Round?
The Stray Vacancy Round is the final counselling round for NEET UG 2026 in Bihar. It fills seats that remain empty after the first three regular counselling rounds (held 16–17 October 2026). These vacancies arise when candidates do not report for admission, withdraw, or their allotted seats are cancelled for other reasons.
This round is open to candidates who: (1) never registered in any earlier round; (2) registered but never submitted their application with payment; (3) submitted an application but did not fill choices; or (4) had their allotted seat cancelled and are now eligible to try again. Seats are filled on a merit-cum-choice basis using your NEET UG 2026 All India Rank (AIR).
Who is Eligible to Apply?
You are eligible for the Stray Vacancy Round if you meet ALL of the following conditions:
You must be a NEET UG 2026 qualified candidate. You must NOT have been admitted to any medical or dental college in India (government or private) through any counselling round so far. You must NOT have taken admission on an All India Quota (AIQ) seat. You must NOT have been allotted an AIQ Stray Vacancy Round seat already. You must be a permanent resident of Bihar (for private college seats, if you filled UR/EWS category but are actually BC/EBC/SC/ST, you are still eligible if you are Bihar-resident and NEET-qualified).
- NEET UG 2026 qualified candidate
- Not admitted to any medical/dental college in India
- Not admitted on AIQ (All India Quota) seat
- Not allotted AIQ Stray Vacancy Round seat
- Permanent resident of Bihar
- Not already participating in a later round of counselling
Who is NOT Eligible?
Do NOT apply if any of the following apply to you: You have already been admitted to an MBBS or BDS seat through UGMAC Round-1, Round-2, or Round-3. You have been admitted through AIQ (All India Quota) in any round. You have already been allotted an AIQ Stray Vacancy Round seat. You have been admitted to any medical or dental college anywhere in India. You were allotted a seat in Round-3 and took admission (even if it was for B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.F.Sc.).
If you are in the weeding-out list shared by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee), you are ineligible and your Round-3 seat (if any) will be cancelled with forfeiture of your security deposit. The board will not entertain any appeal on this.

- Already admitted through AIQ
- Already allotted AIQ Stray Vacancy Round seat
- Admitted to any medical/dental college in India

Counselling Fees & Security Deposit — What You Must Pay
You must pay two amounts: a non-refundable counselling fee and a refundable security deposit. The amounts depend on which colleges you are applying to (government, private, or both) and your category (UR/EWS/BC/EBC or SC/ST/DQ). Payment is online only — by debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. You will also pay a processing charge on top of these amounts.
For government colleges, SC/ST/DQ candidates pay half the fee of UR/EWS/BC/EBC candidates. For private colleges, all candidates pay the same fee. The security deposit is refunded after all counselling rounds end, provided you either get a seat or do not get any seat. If you take admission, the deposit is also refunded. If you do not report for document verification or do not take admission, your deposit is forfeited.

Step-by-Step: How to Register and Apply Online
Know the exact MBBS/BDS colleges your rank can get
Official 2023–2025 closing ranks and fees, matched to your rank.
The application process has seven steps. You must complete all of them by 21 October 2026, 11:59 pm. Do not skip any step or your application will be rejected.
**Step 1: Registration.** Go to the UGMAC 2026 online portal (bceceboard.bihar.gov.in). Enter your NEET UG 2026 Roll Number, your name, and date of birth exactly as they appear on your NEET admit card. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number and email (the ones you used when applying for NEET). Enter the OTP to verify your identity. Create a password — keep it confidential. After successful registration, you will receive a UGMAC ID. Save this ID; you will need it for all future steps and correspondence.
**Step 2: Fill Your Application Form.** Log in using your Roll Number and password. Fill in your personal information (name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, gender). Then fill your contact details (permanent and correspondence address). Then fill your educational information (12th marks, qualifying exam details). Then upload a high-contrast colour photograph and your signature as scanned PDFs. If you are applying for B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.F.Sc. seats and are a ward of Bihar Animal Science University, you must upload your Ward quota certificate. Click 'Save & Continue' after each section.
**Step 3: Review and Final Submit.** Check all your entries on the preview page. If you find any errors, click 'Back to Edit' and correct them. Once everything is correct, click 'Final Submit & Proceed to Payment'. You will be asked to give a declaration. Do not proceed unless you are sure all information is correct — you cannot change name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, or email after this.
**Step 4: Pay Your Fees.** After final submission, you will be directed to the payment page. Pay your counselling fee and security deposit using your debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. You will also pay a processing charge. The payment must be completed by 21 October 2026, 11:59 pm. If the payment is debited from your account but fails (e.g., due to a technical error), you must re-pay immediately — do not wait for a refund. If your payment does not reflect in the board's account by the deadline, your application will be rejected.
**Step 5: Fill Your Choices.** After successful payment, log in again and fill your choices of courses and colleges in order of preference. You can choose MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H., or B.F.Sc. seats at any government or private college listed by the board. Click 'Save Choices', then click 'Choice Locking' to lock your choices before 22 October 2026, 11:59 pm. If you lock your choices and want to change them, click 'Unlock Choices' (you will need to enter your password and OTP). After locking, you can download and print your choice list.
**Step 6: Download Your Confirmation Page.** After payment, download your confirmation page and fee receipt. Check all details. If you find any discrepancy, correct it during the application editing window (see next section). Download the confirmation page for your records.
**Step 7: Download Your Choice Slip.** After locking your choices, download your choice slip by clicking 'View Filled Choices' on the portal dashboard. Print it for your records.
- Step 1: Register with NEET Roll No., name, DOB; receive UGMAC ID
- Step 2: Fill personal, contact, educational info; upload photo & signature
- Step 3: Review all entries; click Final Submit
- Step 4: Pay counselling fee + security deposit online by 21 Oct 11:59 pm
- Step 5: Fill choices in order of preference; lock by 22 Oct 11:59 pm
- Step 6: Download confirmation page & fee receipt
- Step 7: Download choice slip after locking
Editing Your Application & Choices — What You Can Change
After you submit your application and pay your fees, you can edit your application data and choices — but only if you do so before the deadline (21 October 2026, 11:59 pm for application; 22 October 2026, 11:59 pm for choices). To edit, log in with your Roll Number and password, click 'Edit your Online Filled Application Form', and authenticate using your password and OTP.
**What you CAN edit:** Your personal information (except name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, gender), contact details, educational information, uploaded documents, and your choices.
**What you CANNOT edit:** Your name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, gender, DQ status, mobile number, email ID, proof of identity, and identity number. These are locked.
**Important:** If editing causes your fee category to change (e.g., you change from applying to government colleges only to applying to private colleges too), you must pay the additional fee. Your previous payment will be refunded to your bank account after all counselling ends. If you edit your application, you must re-lock your choices before the deadline. If your Round-3 allotted seat was cancelled and your choices became 'Null & Void', you MUST fill fresh choices — you cannot use your old choices.
- Edit your application by 21 Oct 11:59 pm
- Edit your choices by 22 Oct 11:59 pm
- Cannot edit: name, DOB, gender, mobile, email, DQ status
- If editing changes your fee category, pay additional fee
- If Round-3 seat was cancelled, fill fresh choices (mandatory)
- Re-lock choices after editing
Documents You Must Upload & Submit
You must upload scanned copies of all required documents when you download your provisional seat allotment order (after 24 October). You must then submit the original documents in person during document verification (25–26 October). If any document is missing, blurred, incorrect, or does not match your application data, your seat will be cancelled and your security deposit forfeited.
Below is the complete list of documents. Every candidate must upload and submit items (i) through (vii). Items (viii) onwards are required only if they apply to you.
- NEET UG 2026 Admit Card
- NEET UG 2026 Score Card
- UGMAC 2026 Stray Vacancy Round Rank Card
- Passing Certificate / Mark sheet / Admit Card of 10th (Matric) or equivalent

- DQ Certificate (if applicable) — must be issued by an authorized centre on the prescribed proforma, along with UDID Card and Affidavit; merge all three into one PDF
- NRI Certificate (if claiming NRI quota) — issued by Indian Embassy/Consulate, along with valid passport, NEET score card, and notarized affidavit of sponsorship with NRE bank passbook
- Ward Quota Certificate (if applicable) — issued by Registrar of Bihar Animal Science University

- All certificates required by your private college (if admitted to private college)
- Six passport-size photographs (same as on NEET admit card)

Critical Traps: What Gets Your Application Rejected
**Payment not reflecting by deadline:** If you pay your counselling fee and security deposit but the payment does not appear in the board's account by 21 October 2026, 11:59 pm, your application will be rejected — even if the money was deducted from your bank account. The board will not wait for the payment to be credited later. If this happens, you must re-pay immediately to save your application.
**Not locking your choices:** If you fill your choices but do not click 'Choice Locking' by 22 October 2026, 11:59 pm, your choices will be automatically locked — but you will not have a printout. You must lock your choices yourself to download and print them.
**Changing your mobile number or email:** Your registered mobile number and email (from your NEET application) cannot be changed at any point. All OTPs and communications will go to these numbers/addresses. If you no longer have access to them, you cannot proceed.
**Missing or incorrect documents:** If any required document is missing, blurred, corrupted, or does not match your application (e.g., caste certificate shows a different name spelling), your seat will be cancelled during document verification. You will have a chance to re-upload corrected documents, but if you miss the deadline, your seat is gone and your deposit is forfeited.
Every kind of MBBS/BDS seat, one rank
See the real seats your NEET rank can reach.
**DQ candidates:** If you are claiming DQ (Disability Quota), you must upload THREE documents: DQ Certificate (from authorized centre on prescribed form), UDID Card, and Affidavit. If any one is missing, you will not be eligible for DQ quota. Merge all three into a single PDF.
**NRI candidates:** If you are claiming NRI quota, you must upload your NEET score card, valid passport, NRI Certificate from the Indian Embassy/Consulate, and a notarized affidavit of sponsorship with NRE bank passbook. Missing any one disqualifies you.
**Not reporting for document verification:** If you are allotted a seat but do not report physically to the college for document verification by 26 October 2026, your seat is cancelled and your security deposit is forfeited. There are no exceptions.
**Filling choices after Round-3 seat cancellation:** If your Round-3 allotted seat was cancelled (e.g., you did not report, or there was a data discrepancy), your old choices become 'Null & Void'. You MUST fill fresh choices for the Stray Vacancy Round. If you do not, you will not be eligible for seat allotment.
- ⚠️ Payment must reflect in board account by 21 Oct 11:59 pm — no extensions
- ⚠️ Must lock choices by 22 Oct 11:59 pm to get printout
- ⚠️ Cannot change mobile number or email after registration
- ⚠️ Missing or incorrect documents = seat cancelled, deposit forfeited
- ⚠️ DQ candidates must upload all three documents (certificate, UDID, affidavit)
- ⚠️ NRI candidates must upload all required documents
- ⚠️ Must report physically for document verification by 26 Oct
- ⚠️ If Round-3 seat cancelled, must fill fresh choices (old choices are void)

**If your MBBS/BDS seat was cancelled:** You can apply for B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.F.Sc. seats only. You must pay fresh counselling fees and security deposit. Your old choices are void; you must fill fresh choices.
**If your B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.F.Sc. seat was cancelled:** You can apply for MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H., or B.F.Sc. seats. You must pay fresh counselling fees and security deposit. Your old choices are void; you must fill fresh choices.

You can edit your old choices but cannot remove your Round-3 allotted choice — you can only swap its position. You cannot edit your application data.
- Round-3 MBBS/BDS cancelled → apply for B.V.Sc./B.F.Sc. only
- Round-3 B.V.Sc./B.F.Sc. cancelled → apply for any course
- Round-3 B.V.Sc./B.F.Sc. admitted → can try for MBBS/BDS but cannot remove old choice
- All cases: must fill fresh choices (if old choices void) and pay fresh fees
After You Get Your Seat: Document Verification & Admission
On 24 October 2026, the board will publish the provisional seat allotment result. Log in to the portal, download your allotment order, and upload scanned copies of all required documents (see Documents section above) in PDF format. The allotted college will verify your documents online.
Between 25–26 October 2026, you must visit the allotted college in person with all original documents. The college will verify your documents against what you uploaded. If everything matches, you will be admitted. If any document is missing, blurred, or incorrect, the college will send you a discrepancy slip via SMS/email. You must re-upload corrected documents within the deadline. If you miss the deadline or do not report, your seat is cancelled and your security deposit is forfeited.
After successful document verification and admission, you will receive an online Document Verification Slip from the college. If there are discrepancies, you will receive a Discrepancy Slip instead. Keep both for your records.
- 24 Oct: Download allotment order & upload documents
- 25–26 Oct: Report physically to college with original documents
- College verifies documents online
- If discrepancy: re-upload corrected documents by deadline
- If no discrepancy: receive Document Verification Slip & admission confirmed
- If you don't report: seat cancelled, deposit forfeited
Security Deposit Refund
Your security deposit will be refunded to your bank account after all counselling rounds end. If you get a seat and take admission, your deposit is refunded. If you do not get any seat, your deposit is also refunded. If you do not report for document verification or do not take admission, your deposit is forfeited.
The refund will be credited to the bank account you provided during registration. The account holder's name must match the name you provided during registration. If the refund does not appear within a reasonable time due to a technical issue, contact the board's helpdesk.
- Refunded if you get a seat and take admission
- Refunded if you do not get any seat
- Forfeited if you don't report for verification or don't take admission
- Credited to bank account provided during registration
- Account holder name must match registration name
