Unlock My College ListWhat is Stray Round 2 and who should apply?
Stray Round 2 is the final counselling round for unfilled Management Quota seats at Dr. NTR University. It is open to candidates who have not yet been allotted or joined a seat in any earlier round of MBBS or BDS counselling at this university or any other state.
For MBBS: Only Category-C (NRI Lapsed) seats are available in this round. For BDS: Both Category-B and Category-C (NRI Lapsed) seats are open. This is a common application form for both courses — you can apply for either or both, but your application will be processed based on your eligibility and the category you select.
A total of 112 MBBS seats across 16 colleges (both government and private) are available. The full list of colleges and seat counts is provided in Annexure-I of the notification.
Who is NOT eligible to apply?
The university has clearly listed candidates who cannot participate in Stray Round 2. Understanding these rules is critical — if you fall into any of these categories, your application will be rejected even if you submit it.
You are ineligible if: (1) you joined MBBS in Phase-1 or Phase-2 counselling (either Competent Authority Quota or Management Quota); (2) you were allotted an MBBS seat in Phase-III (Mopup) or any earlier Stray Round; (3) your name appears on the Medical Counselling Committee's list up to Stray Round, or you have already joined MBBS in another state; (4) you joined BDS in Phase-1 or Phase-2 counselling, or were allotted a BDS seat in Phase-III Mopup; (5) your name is on the Medical Counselling Committee's list and you have joined MBBS elsewhere.
If you are unsure whether you are eligible, check the university website or contact the helpline before applying. Submitting an application when ineligible will result in automatic rejection and loss of your application fee.
- Already joined MBBS in Phase-1 or Phase-2 (any quota)
- Already allotted MBBS in Phase-III Mopup or earlier Stray Rounds
- Name on Medical Counselling Committee list up to Stray Round
- Already joined MBBS in another state
- Already joined BDS in Phase-1 or Phase-2 (any quota)

Documents required — mandatory and file specifications
You must upload scanned copies of all required documents in PDF or JPG format. Every document must meet the file size limit (usually 500 KB, except the NRI Lapsed affidavit which is 2000 KB). If any mandatory document is missing or exceeds the file size, your application will be automatically rejected. Do not attempt to submit without all documents.
The following documents are mandatory for all applicants: (1) NEET UG 2026 Rank Card (PDF, 500 KB); (2) Birth Certificate or SSC Marks Memo (PDF, 500 KB); (3) Qualifying Exam Certificate — this must be your Intermediate Marks Memo or equivalent. Grade certificates are NOT accepted (PDF, 500 KB); (4) Transfer Certificate or Migration Certificate for 10+2 (PDF, 500 KB); (5) Candidate's latest passport-size photo (JPG/JPEG, 100 KB); (6) Specimen signature of the candidate (JPG/JPEG, 100 KB).
Additional documents depend on your category and circumstances: If you are claiming Category-B2 seats and are a local candidate of Andhra Pradesh, you must upload Study Certificates from 6th class to 10+2 (PDF, 500 KB). If you belong to a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe, upload your Caste Certificate (PDF, 500 KB). If you are Muslim and claiming minority status, upload your Minority Certificate (PDF, 500 KB). If you are applying under NRI Lapsed category, you must upload a Notarized Affidavit of Parental Financial Status signed by both parent and candidate (PDF, 2000 KB) — see Annexure-II for the template. If you have a disability, upload your PwD Certificate (PDF, 500 KB). For all applicants, upload a photo identity proof (Aadhar) (PDF, 500 KB).

Critical trap: Qualifying exam certificate must be marks memo, not grade certificate
This is a common reason for application rejection. The university explicitly states that your Qualifying Exam Certificate must be your Intermediate Marks Memo or an equivalent marks document. Grade certificates are NOT accepted. If you upload a grade certificate instead of a marks memo, your application will be automatically rejected.
If you have only a grade certificate, contact your school or board immediately to obtain your marks memo. Many boards issue marks memos on request. Do not attempt to apply with a grade certificate — it will be rejected and your fee will not be refunded.
- ⚠️ Marks memo required — grade certificates are rejected
- ⚠️ Obtain your marks memo from your board before applying
- ⚠️ Missing this document = automatic rejection
NRI Lapsed category: Notarized affidavit requirement
If you are applying under the NRI Lapsed category (for MBBS or BDS), you must upload a Notarized Affidavit of Parental Financial Status. This is not optional — without it, your application will be rejected. The affidavit must be notarized (certified by a notary public) and signed by both your parent/guardian and yourself.
The affidavit must declare your family's total annual income from all sources for the financial year 2025–2026, the specific sources of that income (e.g., salary, business, agriculture), details of liquid assets or bank support used for funding, and a certification that you have the financial capacity to pay the full tuition and fees for the entire course duration (4.5 years for MBBS, 4 years for BDS) without default. A template is provided in Annexure-II of the notification. Fill it out completely, have it notarized, and upload it as a PDF (maximum 2000 KB). False or misleading information in the affidavit can result in cancellation of your admission and legal action.
- Notarized affidavit is mandatory for NRI Lapsed category
- Must be signed by both parent and candidate
- Must declare family income for 2025–2026
- Must list all sources of income and funds
- Must certify financial capacity for full course duration
- False information = admission cancellation + legal action
How to apply: Step-by-step process
Applications are submitted online only. You must use a desktop or laptop with a stable internet connection — mobile phones are not supported. The application portal is: https://apuhs-ugadmissions.aptonline.in/MBBSMQ/Home/StudentLogin.
Step 1: Visit the portal and log in with your credentials (typically your NEET roll number and password). Step 2: Fill in all required information in the online form. Step 3: Upload all scanned documents in the correct file format and size. Ensure every mandatory document is uploaded — if any is missing, the form will be rejected. Step 4: Review all information carefully. Any false or incorrect information can lead to cancellation of admission later. Step 5: Pay the application fee (Rs. 31,000 for new registration, or Rs. 6,000 for Category-B to NRI Lapsed conversion) through the payment gateway using a debit card, credit card, or internet banking. Step 6: Submit the form. You will receive a confirmation message. Save this confirmation for your records.
After submission, eligible candidates will be displayed on the portal at 8:00 PM on 24 October. If you are eligible, you can then log in and exercise your web options (rank your preferred colleges and categories) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on 25 October. Allotment will be released on 25 October. If you are allotted a seat, you must report to the college by 26 October with all original certificates and pay the university fee of Rs. 70,100 and the college's tuition fee.

What happens after allotment: Reporting and fees
If you are allotted a seat in Stray Round 2, you must report to your allotted college by 26 October. This is compulsory — failure to report will result in forfeiture of your seat. You cannot resign from a seat allotted in Stray Round 2. Bring all original certificates, your provisional allotment order, and a final copy of your application.
You must pay two fees: (1) University fee of Rs. 70,100, which you pay online through the payment gateway (debit card, credit card, or internet banking) to download your allotment order; (2) College tuition fee and other college fees, which you pay directly to the college at the time of reporting. The exact tuition fee depends on the college and course. Classes for MBBS have already commenced from 15 September 2026, so you will join mid-session.
- Reporting is compulsory by 26 October
- Bring all original certificates and allotment order
- Cannot resign from seat allotted in Stray Round 2
- Pay university fee of Rs. 70,100 online to download allotment order
- Pay college tuition and other fees at the college
- MBBS classes already started (15 Sept 2026)
Common mistakes that get applications rejected
The university automatically rejects applications that do not meet its strict requirements. Understanding these traps can save your seat.
Missing mandatory documents: If you do not upload your NEET rank card, birth certificate, qualifying exam certificate, passport photo, or specimen signature, your application is automatically rejected. Do not submit without all of these. Incorrect file format or size: Documents must be in PDF (except photo and signature, which are JPG/JPEG). If a file exceeds the size limit (500 KB for most documents, 2000 KB for NRI affidavit, 100 KB for photo and signature), it will not upload or will be rejected. Uploading a grade certificate instead of marks memo: The university explicitly rejects grade certificates. You must upload your Intermediate Marks Memo or equivalent. Incomplete or false information: If you leave fields blank or provide false information, your application is rejected. If false information is discovered later, your admission can be cancelled. Missing NRI Lapsed affidavit: If you apply under NRI Lapsed category without the notarized affidavit, you are rejected. Applying when ineligible: If you have already joined MBBS or BDS in an earlier round or in another state, you are ineligible. Submitting anyway results in rejection and loss of fees. Applying for Competent Authority Quota seats: Applications submitted for Competent Authority (Convenor) Quota seats will NOT be considered for Management Quota seats. Choose your quota carefully.
- ⚠️ Missing any mandatory document = automatic rejection
- ⚠️ File format or size incorrect = rejection
- ⚠️ Grade certificate instead of marks memo = rejection
- ⚠️ Incomplete or false information = rejection and possible admission cancellation
- ⚠️ NRI Lapsed applicants without notarized affidavit = rejection
- ⚠️ Already joined MBBS/BDS elsewhere = ineligible, rejection
- ⚠️ Applying for wrong quota = not considered for Management Quota
Important warnings and legal consequences
The university takes fraud and false information very seriously. If you provide false or forged documents, or if any information in your application is found to be incorrect or misleading during or after admission, the university will cancel your seat without notice and take legal action against you. This can include criminal prosecution.
Additionally, the university does not support or entertain seat blocking or cancellation of MBBS seats. If you are found involved in seat blocking (attempting to hold a seat without joining or to cancel it unfairly), legal action will be initiated against you. Do not engage with touts, brokers, or middlemen who claim to guarantee seats through unfair means — all counselling is conducted strictly according to NEET merit and your prioritized options. Any information about counselling is published only on the official university website.
- ⚠️ False or forged documents = admission cancellation + legal action
- ⚠️ Seat blocking = legal action
- ⚠️ Do not trust touts or brokers claiming to guarantee seats
- ⚠️ All official information is on the university website only

See My CollegesFrequently asked questions
I was allotted a seat in Phase-2 counselling but did not join. Can I apply for Stray Round 2?
No. The notification explicitly states that candidates who were allotted MBBS seats in Phase-III (Mopup) or any earlier Stray Round are not eligible. Additionally, if your name appears on the Medical Counselling Committee's list up to Stray Round, you cannot apply. Contact the university helpline to confirm your eligibility before applying.
I have a grade certificate from my board, not a marks memo. Can I upload the grade certificate?
No. The university explicitly states that grade certificates are NOT accepted. You must upload your Intermediate Marks Memo or an equivalent marks document. If you only have a grade certificate, contact your board immediately to request your marks memo. Do not attempt to apply with a grade certificate — your application will be automatically rejected and your fee will not be refunded.
What is the NRI Lapsed category, and do I need the notarized affidavit?
NRI Lapsed refers to candidates whose parents were previously Non-Resident Indians (NRI) but are no longer NRI status. If you are applying under this category, you must upload a notarized affidavit of parental financial status signed by both your parent and yourself. The affidavit must declare your family's annual income, sources of funds, and your financial capacity to pay the full course fees. Without this affidavit, your application will be rejected. A template is provided in Annexure-II of the notification.
I applied for Competent Authority Quota seats. Will my application be considered for Management Quota seats?
No. The notification clearly states that applications submitted for Competent Authority (Convenor) Quota seats will NOT be considered for Management Quota seats. If you want to apply for Management Quota, you must submit a separate application for Management Quota seats only.
What happens if I am allotted a seat but do not report by 26 October?
If you do not report to your allotted college by 26 October with all original certificates and required fees, you will forfeit your seat. Reporting is compulsory. Additionally, you cannot resign from a seat allotted in Stray Round 2 — once allotted, you must join.
Can I apply if I have already joined MBBS in another state?
No. The notification states that candidates whose names are found on the Medical Counselling Committee's list up to Stray Round and candidates who have joined MBBS in other states are not eligible. If you have already joined MBBS elsewhere, you cannot apply for Stray Round 2.
Will my application fee be refunded if I am not allotted a seat?
No. The notification explicitly states that the application and processing fee, once paid, will not be refunded or adjusted to any future date under any circumstances. The fee is non-refundable. You are advised to verify your eligibility and read the full prospectus before paying.
Can I apply using my mobile phone?
No. The notification clearly states that you must use a desktop or laptop only. Mobile phones are not supported for the online application. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and use a desktop or laptop to submit your application.
What is the deadline for applying, and is there any extension?
The application window is from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on 24 October 2026 only. There is no extension. If you miss this window, you cannot apply. This is a same-day deadline, so apply immediately.
If I am allotted a seat, what fees do I need to pay?
You must pay two fees: (1) University fee of Rs. 70,100, which you pay online through the payment gateway (debit card, credit card, or internet banking) to download your allotment order; (2) College tuition fee and other college fees, which you pay directly to the college at the time of reporting. The exact tuition fee depends on the college and course. Both fees are mandatory.
Can I withdraw from the course after joining?
No. The notification states that no candidate is permitted to withdraw from the course till closure of the admissions schedule. Once you join, you must complete the course. Additionally, the university does not support seat blocking or cancellation of MBBS seats, and legal action will be taken against candidates involved in such activities.
What if I provide false information in my application?
If any information in your application is found to be false, incorrect, or misleading during or after admission, the university will cancel your seat without notice and take legal action against you. This can include criminal prosecution. Ensure all information is accurate and truthful before submitting.
