Phase-III is the final counselling round before stray vacancies. It is open to candidates whose names appear in the Final Merit Position (updated) as displayed on 2 October 2026, with addendums dated 5 October and 16 October 2026 on the Dr. NTR UHS website. Importantly, any candidate who held an All India Quota (AIQ) seat up to Round-3 has been weeded out and is NOT eligible for this phase.
This round covers four categories of seats: (1) Competent Authority (Self-financing) seats in new government medical colleges permitted from 2023–24 onwards; (2) Competent Authority (NRI Category) seats in the same colleges; (3) Management Quota (Category B1, B2, and Category C NRI) seats in private un-aided non-minority and minority medical colleges; (4) NRI Category seats at Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (under SVIMS), Tirupati; and (5) NRI Lapsed seats. If your name is on the merit list and you were not allotted a seat in Phase-I or Phase-II, or if you did not join an allotted seat, you are eligible to participate.
- You must be on the Final Merit Position (updated) list displayed on 2, 5, or 16 October 2026
- You cannot have held an All India Quota seat up to Round-3
- You are eligible if you did not join in Phase-I or Phase-II, or if you availed free exit
- Candidates who joined in earlier phases can slide to another college or category in this phase

The web options window is extremely tight. You have only 40 hours to submit your choices. The portal opens at 9:00 PM on 16 October 2026 and closes at 1:00 PM on 18 October 2026. After 1 PM on 18 October, the portal will shut down and no further options can be submitted. Mark these dates on your calendar and plan ahead—do not wait until the last moment.
The website for exercising options is https://drntr.uhsap.in. You will need your login credentials (username and password) to access the portal. One-Time Passwords (OTPs) will be sent to your registered mobile number and email address when you enter and submit your options. Security Deposit: ₹3 Lakh Refundable Amount (Management Quota Only)
If you are applying for Management Quota seats (Category B1, B2, or Category C NRI in private colleges), you must pay a refundable security deposit of ₹3,00,000 (three lakhs) through online mode BEFORE you exercise web options. This is a mandatory requirement. The payment must be made through the payment gateway using a debit card, credit card, or internet banking. Do not attempt to exercise options without paying this deposit—your options will not be accepted.
The security deposit is refundable under three conditions: (1) If you join the allotted seat, the deposit is refunded after closure of admissions. (2) If you are not allotted a seat, the deposit is refunded after closure of admissions. (3) If you do not join the allotted seat, the deposit is forfeited. Additionally, the deposit will be forfeited if your admission is cancelled due to any reason, such as providing false information at registration, failing to produce required documents at admission, or if your seat is cancelled by the admission authorities.
⚠️ **Critical trap:** The university is not responsible for failed payment transactions. Ensure you have a strong network connection, sufficient card/net banking transaction limits, and no bank restrictions before attempting payment. Multiple failed attempts may cause delays. The list of eligible and ineligible candidates for refund will be displayed only after closure of admissions.
- Amount: ₹3,00,000 (refundable)
- Applicable to: Management Quota candidates only (Category B1, B2, C NRI in private colleges)
- Payment method: Online (debit card, credit card, or internet banking)
- Timing: Must be paid BEFORE exercising web options
- Refund conditions: Refunded if you join or are not allotted; forfeited if you don't join or admission is cancelled
- Forfeiture reasons: Wrong information at registration, failure to produce documents, admission cancellation
University Fee: What You Pay to Download Your Allotment Order
Once you are allotted a seat, you must pay a University fee to download your allotment order. This fee varies by seat type and is paid through the payment gateway. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. After paying the University fee, you download your allotment order and report to the principal of your allotted college with the order and original certificates before the date specified in the order.
For MBBS, the University fees are: ₹35,100 for Competent Authority (Self-financing) seats in new government colleges; ₹70,100 for Competent Authority (NRI Category) seats in new government colleges; ₹35,100 for Private Non-Minority & Minority colleges (Category B1 & B2); and ₹70,100 for Private Non-Minority & Minority colleges including SVIMS Women (Category C NRI).
⚠️ **Important exception:** If you were allotted a seat in Phase-I or Phase-II under Management Quota and already paid the University fee, you do NOT pay again if your seat changes within the same category in Phase-III. However, you must download the new allotment order and report to the newly allotted college with a Custodian Certificate from your previous college.
- Competent Authority (Self-financing) in new govt colleges: ₹35,100
- Competent Authority (NRI Category) in new govt colleges: ₹70,100
- Private colleges (Category B1 & B2): ₹35,100

Tuition Fees: What You Pay to the College (Varies by College and Category)
Tuition fees are paid directly to the college at the time of admission and vary significantly by college, seat category, and whether it is a government or private institution. For government medical colleges (Eluru, Machilipatnam, Nandyal, Rajahmundry, Vizianagaram, Paderu, Piduguralla), Competent Authority (Self-financing) seats cost ₹12,00,000 per annum, while Competent Authority (NRI Category) seats cost ₹20,00,000 per annum. These fees are for the academic year 2023–24 onwards as per Government Order Ms.No.108, HM & FW (C1) Dept., dated 19 July 2023.
For private colleges, tuition fees for Management Quota seats are interim fees fixed as per G.O.Ms.No.785, HM & FW (C1) Dept., dated 29 August 2026, and are subject to the outcome of pending court cases (W.P.Nos.32975, 33162 & 35090 of 2022). Category B seats (Management Quota) in private colleges cost ₹14,52,000 total (for the full course), while Category C (NRI) seats cost up to ₹43,56,000 total. However, individual colleges have reported different fees for NRI seats—ranging from ₹23,75,000 per annum (Nimra Institute, Vijayawada) to ₹43,56,000 per annum (most other colleges). ⚠️ **Critical detail:** According to the National Medical Commission (NMC) circular, you must pay tuition fees for 4½ years at the respective college, not just one year. The fees listed are either per annum or total for the course—check the specific college's fee structure carefully. The tuition fee structure for 2026–27 is subject to government orders and pending court outcomes, so fees may change. Always verify the exact fee with the college before reporting for admission.

Important Restrictions and Rules You Must Know

Your name will be deleted before processing allotments for Management Quota.
**Muslim Minority Rule:** Only Muslim minority candidates are eligible to exercise web options for Management Quota seats in un-aided private minority medical colleges. If Muslim minority candidates are not available, the seats will be allotted to non-Muslim minority candidates in the stray vacancy round. The stray round will cover: (1) unfilled seats in Phase-III, if any; and (2) seats not reported or not joined after Phase-III. Eligibility and other conditions for the stray round are detailed in the 'Information on Counselling Procedure' notification dated 11 September 2026, which you should review on the Dr. NTR UHS website.
If you do not get a seat in Phase-III, you may be eligible for the stray round depending on your merit position and the availability of seats. However, Phase-III is your last chance to exercise options and secure a seat through the main counselling process.
- Stray round covers unfilled Phase-III seats and not-reported/not-joined seats
