What This Notice Means for You

This is the official timetable for Round 1 of West Bengal's NEET PG 2026 counselling process. It tells you when to register, when to pay your fee, when to fill your choice of colleges and specialties, when the allotment result will come out, and when you must report to your allotted college. Every date and time in this notice is binding — if you miss a deadline, you lose your chance in that round.

The notice covers three quota categories: State Quota (seats the state fills), Private Management Quota (seats in private colleges), and NRI Quota (seats for non-resident Indians). All three follow the same schedule. If you qualified in NEET PG 2026, you are eligible to participate in this round.

West Bengal NEET PG 2026 Round 1 Counselling Schedule

Step 1: Online Registration (22–28 October)

Registration opens on 22 October at 11 am and closes on 28 October at 6 pm. You must register online through the official West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) portal. Registration is the first step — without it, you cannot proceed to fee payment or verification.

During registration, you will enter your NEET PG 2026 roll number, personal details, and other information as requested by the portal. Keep your NEET admit card and any other documents the portal asks for ready before you start. Registration is free; the fee comes next.

  • Registration window: 22 October 11 am to 28 October 6 pm
  • Do not wait until the last day — the portal may be slow
  • You must have your NEET PG 2026 qualification to register

Step 2: Online Fee Payment (22–28 October)

Fee payment must be completed by 28 October at 12 Midnight (one day after registration closes). You can pay online through the portal using a debit card, credit card, or net banking. The notice does not specify the fee amount — check the official WBMCC website or the portal for the exact fee.

Payment must be done after registration but before verification. If you do not pay the fee by the deadline, you will not be allowed to proceed to verification, and you will lose your chance in Round 1.

  • Payment deadline: 28 October 2026, 12 Midnight
  • Pay online only through the official portal
  • Keep your payment receipt for your records
  • Fee payment is mandatory to proceed

Step 3: Verification at Your Designated College (26–29 October)

After you register and pay the fee, you must attend verification at a designated college on one of four days: 26, 27, 28, or 29 October, between 11 am and 4 pm. The notice states that the software will assign you a specific college and time slot — you cannot choose. You must report to that college at that time with your original documents.

Verification is a physical check of your documents and eligibility. The college will confirm that your NEET PG 2026 qualification is genuine, that you meet the eligibility criteria for the quota you are applying under, and that all your documents are in order. Only after successful verification will your name appear on the verified candidates list on 30 October.

The notice mentions that for NRI candidates, verification details will be published separately on the WBMCC website. If you are an NRI candidate, watch the website for your specific verification instructions.

  • Verification dates: 26, 27, 28, 29 October 2026, 11 am to 4 pm
  • You will be assigned a college and time slot — check the portal after registration
  • Bring all original documents as requested
  • Attend on your assigned date and time — no changes allowed
  • NRI candidates: check the website for separate instructions

Step 4: Check the Verified Candidates List (30 October)

On 30 October after 2 pm, the WBMCC will publish the list of all candidates whose verification was successful. Your name must appear on this list to proceed to choice filling. The notice also states that the Seat Matrix for Round 1 will be published at the same time — this shows how many seats are available in each college, speciality, and quota category.

If your name does not appear on the verified list, your verification was unsuccessful, and you cannot participate in Round 1. In that case, you may be eligible for a subsequent round if one is held. Check the website immediately on 30 October to confirm your status.

  • Verified list published: 30 October 2026, after 2 pm
  • Seat Matrix also published on the same day
  • Your name must be on the verified list to fill choices
  • If your name is missing, contact the WBMCC immediately

Step 5: Fill Your Choices (30 October – 1 November)

Once your name appears on the verified list, you can fill your choices of colleges and specialties. Choice filling opens on 30 October at 4 pm and closes on 1 November at 12 Midnight. You must rank the colleges and specialties in order of your preference. The allotment algorithm will then match you to the highest-ranked choice for which you are eligible based on your NEET PG rank and the quota you are applying under.

This is a critical step. Think carefully about which colleges and specialties you want, and rank them in the order you truly prefer them. Once you lock your choices at 12 Midnight on 1 November, you cannot change them. The notice emphasizes that choice locking is final — there is no option to modify after the deadline.

  • Choice filling window: 30 October 4 pm to 1 November 12 Midnight
  • Rank colleges and specialties in order of preference
  • Lock your choices before 12 Midnight on 1 November
  • After locking, no changes are allowed
  • Do not leave this to the last minute — the portal may be slow

Step 6: Allotment Result (4 November)

The allotment result for Round 1 will be published on 4 November after 4 pm. This result shows which college and speciality you have been allotted based on your rank, your choices, and the availability of seats. Download and save your allotment letter immediately — you will need it for reporting.

If you are allotted a seat, you must report to that college between 5 and 11 November (see next section). If you are not allotted a seat in Round 1, you may be eligible for a subsequent round if one is held. The notice does not specify what happens to candidates not allotted in Round 1, so check the WBMCC website for information on further rounds.

  • Allotment result published: 4 November 2026, after 4 pm
  • Download your allotment letter immediately
  • Check which college and speciality you have been allotted
  • If not allotted, watch for announcements on further rounds

Step 7: Reporting and Admission (5–11 November)

If you are allotted a seat, you must report to your allotted college between 5 and 11 November, 10 am to 4 pm. The notice specifies four reporting dates: 5, 6, 7, 10, and 11 November (note that 8 and 9 November are not included — these are likely weekend days). You must bring your original documents, your allotment letter, and any other documents the college asks for.

The notice states that for all private medical colleges, the admission process will be in different government medical colleges in Kolkata, and related notices will be published on the WBMCC website. For private dental colleges at Dr. R Ahmed Dental College, you will need to bring original documents, pay the college requisite fee, and provide a bond after physical document verification. Once your documents are verified, you can be admitted to the allotted college.

This is your final step to secure your seat. If you do not report within the specified dates and times, your allotment will be cancelled, and your seat will be given to the next candidate. Do not miss this deadline.

Who Is Eligible to Participate

You are eligible to participate in Round 1 if you have qualified in NEET PG 2026. The notice does not list detailed eligibility criteria, but standard eligibility for NEET PG counselling includes holding an MBBS degree from a recognized medical college in India, having completed your internship, and meeting any other criteria set by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) or the state.

The round covers three quota categories: State Quota (for candidates with a domicile or other connection to West Bengal), Private Management Quota (for seats in private colleges), and NRI Quota (for non-resident Indians). Your eligibility for each quota depends on your status and the rules set by the state. If you are unsure which quota you fall under, contact the WBMCC or check the detailed counselling information bulletin.

  • Must have qualified in NEET PG 2026
  • Must hold an MBBS degree from a recognized college
  • Must have completed internship
  • Eligible for State Quota, Private Management Quota, or NRI Quota depending on your status

Documents You Will Need

The notice does not provide a detailed list of documents required for registration, verification, or reporting. However, standard documents for NEET PG counselling typically include your NEET admit card, MBBS degree certificate, internship completion certificate, category certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate (if applicable), and identity proof. The exact list will be specified in the detailed information bulletin or on the WBMCC portal.

For verification, bring all original documents as requested by the portal or the designated college. For reporting, bring your original documents again, along with your allotment letter and any other documents the college specifies. The notice emphasizes that for private colleges, original documents must be brought for physical verification before admission is finalized.

  • NEET PG 2026 admit card
  • MBBS degree certificate (original)
  • Internship completion certificate (original)
  • Category certificate if applicable (original)
  • Domicile certificate if applicable (original)
  • Identity proof (Aadhaar, passport, or PAN)
  • Check the portal for the complete list before verification

Common Mistakes That Get Applications Rejected

Missing the registration deadline (28 October 6 pm) is the most common mistake. If you do not register by this time, you cannot proceed, and you will lose your chance in Round 1. Similarly, if you do not pay the fee by 28 October 12 Midnight, you will not be allowed to verify, and your application will be rejected.

Failing to attend verification on your assigned date and time is another critical error. The notice states that the software assigns you a specific college and time slot — you cannot choose a different date or college. If you do not show up, your verification will be marked as unsuccessful, and your name will not appear on the verified candidates list.

Not locking your choices by 1 November 12 Midnight is a trap. If you fill choices but forget to lock them, they will not be saved, and you will not be allotted a seat. Similarly, if you do not report to your allotted college by 11 November 4 pm, your allotment will be cancelled.

Bringing incomplete or incorrect documents during verification or reporting can also lead to rejection. Ensure all your documents are original, valid, and match the requirements specified by the college or the WBMCC.

  • ⚠️ Missing registration deadline (28 Oct 6 pm) = no participation
  • ⚠️ Not paying fee by 28 Oct 12 Midnight = verification denied
  • ⚠️ Missing verification on assigned date/time = name not on verified list
  • ⚠️ Not locking choices by 1 Nov 12 Midnight = no allotment
  • ⚠️ Not reporting by 11 Nov 4 pm = seat cancelled
  • ⚠️ Incomplete or incorrect documents = rejection at verification or reporting

What Happens After Round 1

The notice covers only Round 1 of counselling. It does not specify whether there will be further rounds (such as Round 2, stray vacancy round, or mop-up round). If you are not allotted a seat in Round 1, or if you are allotted but do not report, you may be eligible for a subsequent round — but the WBMCC will announce this separately.

Watch the official WBMCC website and your registered email for announcements on further rounds. Do not assume there will be another round — some years, only one or two rounds are held. If you miss Round 1, you may lose your chance entirely.

  • Further rounds will be announced separately by WBMCC
  • Not allotted in Round 1 does not mean you are out — wait for Round 2 announcement
  • If you report in Round 1, you cannot participate in further rounds
  • Watch the WBMCC website daily for updates
