The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has issued a comprehensive admission notice for allotted candidates in NEET-PG 2026 counselling. This notice sets out the exact documents you must bring, the bonds and fees you must pay, the rules for participating in Round 2 and Round 3, and critical procedures for document verification and seat surrender. If you have been allotted a seat in Round 1, this notice contains the step-by-step instructions you must follow to secure your admission and avoid rejection at the college gate.
Allotted candidates must report to their college on the scheduled date with all original documents, a self-attested photocopy set, 4 passport photos, the allotment letter, and the verified slip—and must understand that failing to report, not submitting willingness for future rounds, or not producing required certificates can result in seat cancellation.

Unlock My College ListWhat This Notice Is About
This is an official admission procedure notice from the West Bengal Directorate of Medical Education. It applies to every candidate who has been allotted a seat in NEET-PG 2026 counselling Round 1 and is now required to report for admission at their allotted college. The notice explains what documents you must bring, what bonds and fees you must pay, how the multi-round counselling process works, and what happens if you do not report or do not provide the required certificates.
The notice also clarifies the rules for candidates who wish to participate in Round 2 or Round 3 (the subsequent counselling rounds), and what happens if you get a better seat in a later round. It addresses special cases such as candidates applying for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), candidates with disabilities (PwD), and candidates who cannot produce required certificates at the time of admission.
How to Generate Your Allotment Letter and Verified Slip
After the provisional allotment result is published, you must log in to the WB counselling website using your individual login credentials. From there, you can download your allotment letter. You will be able to do this until the counselling website closes for that round—the exact closing time is mentioned in the Counselling Schedule published on the WB counselling website (dated 14.10.2026, Memo No. HFW-23099/320/2026/M/3791).
You must also download the verified slip from the same website. Both the allotment letter and verified slip are essential documents you must bring to the college on the day of admission. Keep one original copy and one self-attested photocopy of each. The college will not admit you without these documents.
- Log in to the WB counselling website with your credentials
- Download your allotment letter before the website closes for the round
- Download your verified slip from the same portal
- Print one original and one self-attested photocopy of each document
- Keep these safe—you must bring them on admission day
Mandatory Documents You Must Bring on Admission Day
The college will not admit you unless you bring every document listed below. All documents must be originals, and you must also bring one complete set of self-attested photocopies. This is not optional. The college will verify each document and keep the originals on file.
In addition to the documents listed, you must bring 4 recent passport-size photographs. The college will use these for your admission records. If you are missing even one document, the college may refuse to admit you on that day, and you may lose your seat.
- NEET PG 2026 Admit Card
- NEET PG 2026 Rank Card
- Original final MBBS mark sheet
- MBBS degree certificate (or provisional degree certificate if the final certificate is not yet issued)
- Permanent Registration Certificate issued by the appropriate Medical Council (the council of the state where you did your MBBS, or the state where you are now registered)
- PwD (Person with Disability) successfully verified certificate from NRS Medical College, Kolkata, OR from any center designated by MCC, New Delhi (if you are applying as a PwD candidate)
- Proof of any previous degree or diploma (if applicable—for example, if you have a diploma in a medical specialty before pursuing MD/MS)
- Successfully verified slip (downloaded from the counselling website)
- Allotment letter (downloaded from the counselling website)
- 4 recent passport-size photographs
- One complete set of self-attested photocopies of all the above documents
Undertaking: Proof That You Are Not Already Admitted Elsewhere
Before admission, you must provide a written undertaking (a signed statement) confirming that you are not currently admitted to any postgraduate medical course anywhere in India. This includes any MD, MS, PG Diploma, or DNB course. The undertaking must state that you have not been admitted through any NEET-PG counselling held in 2026 or earlier, and that you have not been admitted through any state CET or private college admission process.
This undertaking is mandatory. If you are found to have provided false information—for example, if you are already admitted to another course and did not disclose it—your admission will be cancelled and you may face legal consequences. The college will keep a copy of this undertaking in your file.

- You must sign and submit a written undertaking at the time of admission
- The undertaking must confirm you are not admitted to any other PG medical course in India
- It must cover all counselling rounds held in 2026 or earlier
- False information in the undertaking can result in cancellation of admission and legal action
Bonds and Fees You Must Pay at Admission
When you report for admission, the college will require you to pay a discontinuation bond. This is a financial commitment that ensures you will complete your course. The amount depends on whether you are joining a government college or a private college, and whether you are joining a degree course (MD/MS) or a diploma course.
If you are joining a government college in West Bengal for a degree seat (MD/MS), you must pay a discontinuation bond of Rs. 5 lakh (50,00,000 rupees). If you are joining a government college for a diploma seat, the bond is Rs. 2 lakh (2,00,000 rupees). Both bonds must be notarized on non-judicial stamp paper with a demy paper of at least Rs. 100 denomination.
If you are joining a private college, trust college, or central institute, you must submit a bond or bank guarantee as required by that college. The college will specify the amount and format. You should ask the college for its preference—some colleges prefer a bond, others prefer a bank guarantee. If you are opting for upgradation (moving to a better seat in Round 2 or Round 3), you may be allowed to defer submission of the bond for the current round, but you must submit the course fee during admission to the college latest by Round 3, or during the last hour of the Round 3 admission process.
- Government college, degree seat (MD/MS): Rs. 5 lakh discontinuation bond
- Government college, diploma seat: Rs. 2 lakh discontinuation bond
- Both bonds must be notarized on non-judicial stamp paper (minimum Rs. 100 demy paper)
- Private/trust/central college: bond or bank guarantee as per college requirement (candidate's choice preferred)
- If opting for upgradation: you may defer bond submission for the current round, but must pay course fee by Round 3 latest
- All bonds and fees must be submitted during the admission process
Willingness for Round 2 and Round 3: What You Must Know
After you are admitted in Round 1, you will have the option to indicate whether you wish to participate in Round 2 and/or Round 3 (the subsequent counselling rounds). This is called 'willingness for participation.' You must submit this willingness online during the admission process at your allotted college. The college will also provide you with a server-generated admission letter that shows your willingness status—check this letter carefully to confirm your choice.
If you do NOT provide willingness for a subsequent round, you cannot participate in that round and cannot fill fresh choices. However, you will retain the seat you were allotted in Round 1. If you DO provide willingness and participate in a later round but do not get a fresh allotment, you will also retain your Round 1 seat. But if you provide willingness, participate in a later round, and get a new allotment at a different college, your earlier seat is automatically cancelled and you must move to the new college within the time schedule provided.
Important: If you surrender your seat after admission (by physically appearing before the college authority and requesting seat surrender), you are out of the counselling process entirely and cannot participate in any further rounds. Seat surrender is only allowed until Round 2 as per the schedule published on the counselling website. If you do not report for admission in Round 1, you become a 'not reported' candidate but can still participate in Round 2 with fresh choices.
- Willingness for Round 2 and Round 3 is optional and submitted online during admission
- Check your server-generated admission letter to confirm your willingness status
- If you do NOT provide willingness: you retain your Round 1 seat and cannot participate in later rounds
- If you provide willingness but do NOT get a fresh allotment: you retain your Round 1 seat
- If you provide willingness and GET a fresh allotment: your earlier seat is automatically cancelled; you must move to the new college within the time schedule
- If you surrender your seat after admission: you are out of counselling entirely (allowed only until Round 2)
- If you do not report in Round 1: you are 'not reported' but can still participate in Round 2 with fresh choices
Special Rules for Reserved Category Candidates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
If you applied for a reserved category seat (SC, ST, OBC, or EWS) and were allotted an unreserved seat because your NEET-PG score met the unreserved cutoff, you will be admitted to the unreserved seat. However, if you cannot produce a valid caste certificate (or EWS certificate, as applicable) at the time of admission, the college will still admit you but will edit your candidature in the NIC software to 'unreserved' status. This means you will be treated as an unreserved candidate in the software for all future rounds.
If you have obtained the unreserved cutoff score, you can participate in subsequent rounds as an unreserved candidate if you wish. However, if you have NOT obtained the unreserved cutoff score, you will be removed from the counselling process entirely. Therefore, it is critical that you bring your valid caste/EWS certificate to admission. If you do not have it yet, contact the issuing authority immediately and obtain it before your admission date.
- If allotted unreserved seat but cannot produce caste/EWS certificate: admission granted, but candidature edited to unreserved in NIC software
- If you have unreserved cutoff: you can participate in later rounds as unreserved
- If you do NOT have unreserved cutoff: you will be removed from counselling
- Obtain your caste/EWS certificate BEFORE admission day if you are applying under a reserved category
Special Rules for PwD (Person with Disability) Candidates
If you are a PwD candidate and were allotted a non-PwD seat (because you were eligible for a non-PwD seat based on your score), you will be admitted to that seat. However, if you cannot produce a valid PwD certificate from NRS Medical College, Kolkata, or from any center authenticated by MCC, New Delhi, the college will still admit you but will edit your candidature to 'non-PwD' status in the NIC software. This means you will be treated as a non-PwD candidate in all future rounds.
Every kind of PG seat, one rank
See the real seats your NEET-PG rank can reach.
If you have obtained the non-PwD cutoff score, you can participate in subsequent rounds as a non-PwD candidate. However, if you have NOT obtained the non-PwD cutoff score, you will be removed from the counselling process. If you are a PwD candidate, ensure you have your PwD certificate verified by NRS Medical College, Kolkata, or an MCC-authenticated center BEFORE your admission date. Bring the verified certificate to admission.
- If allotted non-PwD seat but cannot produce valid PwD certificate: admission granted, but candidature edited to non-PwD in NIC software
- If you have non-PwD cutoff: you can participate in later rounds as non-PwD
- If you do NOT have non-PwD cutoff: you will be removed from counselling
- Get your PwD certificate verified by NRS Medical College, Kolkata, or MCC-authenticated center BEFORE admission
Final Document Verification at the College: A Second Round of Checks
Even if your documents were verified during the pre-admission choice-filling stage, there will be another round of final physical document verification at the college during the admission process. This is a mandatory step. The college will physically examine all your original documents, compare them with your photocopies, and verify that everything is genuine and matches your application.
Do not assume that pre-admission verification means you are safe. Bring all original documents and ensure they are in order. If the college finds any discrepancy or any document is missing or invalid, your admission can be rejected at this stage.
- A second round of document verification happens at the college during admission
- The college will physically examine all original documents
- Discrepancies or missing documents can result in rejection at this stage
- Bring all originals and self-attested photocopies to the college
NIC Server Admission: The Only Valid Way to Secure Your Seat
All admissions must be processed through the NIC (National Informatics Centre) server provided to the college by the counselling committee. This is mandatory. If you are admitted through any other method or if the college does not use the NIC server, your admission will not be considered valid and your seat will be treated as vacant in the next round.
You must ensure that the college generates an admission letter through the NIC server and provides you with a copy. You must also obtain a server-generated cancellation letter if you later decide to surrender your seat. Without these server-generated documents, your admission or seat surrender will not be recognized. If the college fails to process your admission through the NIC server within the scheduled time frame, your seat will be forfeited.
- All admissions MUST be processed through the NIC server
- Admission through any other method is not valid
- The college must generate a server-generated admission letter for you
- If you surrender, the college must generate a server-generated cancellation letter
- Without NIC server documents, your admission or surrender is not recognized
- Admission must be completed within the scheduled time frame
Seat Surrender: How to Do It and What Happens
If you are not satisfied with your allotted seat and wish to surrender it, you must physically appear before the college authority in person and request seat surrender. This must be done strictly according to the seat surrender schedule published on the counselling website. Seat surrender is allowed only until Round 2 as per the published schedule—after that, you cannot surrender.
When you surrender, the college must generate a server-generated seat surrender slip through the NIC software. Without this slip, your seat surrender will not be accepted and your seat will not appear as vacant in the next round. If you attempt to surrender without following this process, your seat will remain with you and you cannot participate in further rounds. Once you surrender, you are out of the counselling process entirely and cannot participate in any subsequent rounds.
- Seat surrender must be done in person at the college authority
- Surrender is allowed only until Round 2 (as per published schedule)
- The college must generate a server-generated surrender slip through NIC software
- Without the NIC slip, your surrender is not valid
- After surrender, you are out of counselling entirely
- Surrendered seats appear as vacant in the next round
Private Medical College Admission Desks in Kolkata

You must report to the correct government college location for your private college admission.
The following private colleges have their admission desks at the specified government medical colleges in Kolkata:
- NRS Medical College, Kolkata: admission desk for SRIMS and Sanaka Hospital

See My CollegesFrequently asked questions
What documents must I bring on the day of admission?
You must bring: NEET PG 2026 Admit Card and Rank Card, original final MBBS mark sheet, MBBS degree certificate (or provisional if final is not issued), Permanent Registration Certificate from your Medical Council, PwD certificate if applicable (from NRS Medical College, Kolkata or MCC-authenticated center), proof of any previous degree/diploma if applicable, the allotment letter and verified slip downloaded from the counselling website, 4 passport-size photographs, and one complete set of self-attested photocopies of all documents. The college will not admit you without all of these.
What is the discontinuation bond and how much must I pay?
The discontinuation bond is a financial commitment you must make to ensure you complete your course. For government colleges in West Bengal: Rs. 5 lakh for degree seats (MD/MS) and Rs. 2 lakh for diploma seats. Both must be notarized on non-judicial stamp paper with at least Rs. 100 demy paper. For private colleges, the amount and format depend on the college's requirement—ask the college whether it prefers a bond or bank guarantee.
Can I participate in Round 2 and Round 3 after being admitted in Round 1?
Yes, but only if you provide 'willingness for participation' online during your Round 1 admission. If you provide willingness and get a better seat in Round 2 or Round 3, your Round 1 seat is automatically cancelled and you must move to the new college. If you provide willingness but do not get a fresh allotment, you retain your Round 1 seat. If you do not provide willingness, you cannot participate in later rounds but you keep your Round 1 seat.
What happens if I cannot produce my caste certificate at the time of admission?
If you were allotted an unreserved seat because your score met the unreserved cutoff, the college will still admit you but will edit your candidature to 'unreserved' in the NIC software. You can then participate in later rounds as unreserved. However, if your score does NOT meet the unreserved cutoff, you will be removed from counselling entirely. Obtain your caste certificate before admission day.
What is the difference between the pre-admission document verification and the college-level verification?
Pre-admission verification happens during the choice-filling stage before allotment. However, there is a second round of final physical document verification at the college during the admission process itself. The college will physically examine all your original documents and compare them with photocopies. Discrepancies or missing documents at this stage can result in rejection of your admission.
How do I download my allotment letter and verified slip?
Log in to the WB counselling website using your individual credentials. You can download both your allotment letter and verified slip from your account. You must do this before the website closes for that round (the closing time is mentioned in the Counselling Schedule published on 14.10.2026). Print one original and one self-attested photocopy of each and bring them to the college.
Can I surrender my seat after admission?
Yes, but only if you physically appear before the college authority and request surrender strictly according to the seat surrender schedule published on the counselling website. Seat surrender is allowed only until Round 2. The college must generate a server-generated surrender slip through the NIC software—without this slip, your surrender is not valid. Once you surrender, you are out of counselling entirely.
I am allotted a private college seat. Where do I report for admission?
Private college admission desks are located at government medical colleges in Kolkata, not at the private colleges themselves. Check the notice to find which government college has the admission desk for your private college. For example, if you are allotted SRIMS or Sanaka Hospital, report to NRS Medical College, Kolkata.
What if I do not report for admission in Round 1?
If you do not report in Round 1, you become a 'not reported' candidate. However, you can still participate in Round 2 by filling fresh choices. You are not automatically out of counselling. But if you surrender your seat after admission, you are out of counselling entirely and cannot participate in any further rounds.
What is the undertaking I must provide at admission?
You must sign a written undertaking confirming that you are not currently admitted to any other postgraduate medical course in India (MD, MS, PG Diploma, or DNB) through any counselling held in 2026 or earlier. False information in this undertaking can result in cancellation of your admission and legal consequences. The college will keep a copy in your file.
I am a PwD candidate but was allotted a non-PwD seat. What happens if I cannot produce my PwD certificate?
The college will still admit you but will edit your candidature to 'non-PwD' in the NIC software. If you have the non-PwD cutoff score, you can participate in later rounds as non-PwD. If you do NOT have the non-PwD cutoff, you will be removed from counselling. Get your PwD certificate verified by NRS Medical College, Kolkata, or an MCC-authenticated center before admission.
What if I want to defer payment of the bond because I am opting for upgradation?
If you are opting for upgradation (participating in Round 2 or Round 3 for a better seat), you may be allowed to defer submission of the bond for the current round. However, you must submit the required course fee during admission to the college latest by Round 3, or during the last hour of the Round 3 admission process. Do not assume you can defer indefinitely.
If you have been allotted a seat in NEET-PG 2026 Round 1, download your allotment letter and verified slip from the counselling website immediately, gather all required documents, and report to your allotted college on the scheduled date with the allotment letter, verified slip, all original documents, self-attested photocopies, 4 passport photos, and the bond/fee payment. Understand the rules for Round 2 and Round 3 participation before admission, and ensure you have valid caste, EWS, or PwD certificates if applicable. Do not miss your admission date—seats are forfeited if you do not report within the scheduled time frame.
