If you're a NEET UG 2026 candidate hoping for an MBBS seat under Tripura's state quota, the next 24-48 hours matter a lot. The Tripura Medical Counselling Committee (TRMCC) has released the Round 1 provisional merit list and, in a helpful move for candidates still deciding, extended the choice-filling window to August 30. This is the stage where your rank turns into an actual list of colleges you're willing to accept — get it wrong and you could lose a seat you were otherwise eligible for. Tripura runs a small counselling ecosystem with just three participating institutions, so understanding the seat matrix here is quicker than in bigger states, but no less important.

Tripura NEET UG 2026 candidates must check their category-wise rank on the TRMCC portal and lock their Round 1 choices by 11:59 PM on August 30, 2026, since unlocked lists get auto-locked by the system with whatever choices were entered.

What TRMCC has announced

TRMCC released the Round 1 provisional merit list for NEET UG 2026 state-quota counselling on its official portal, trmcc.admissions.nic.in. The list is split category-wise, covering General, SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD candidates separately, and includes only those candidates whose registration and documents have already been verified by the committee.

Along with the merit list, TRMCC extended the choice-filling deadline to August 30, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. This gives candidates a little extra time to compare colleges and arrange their preference order before the system locks it automatically.

Which colleges are in play

Only three institutions accept admissions through TRMCC's state-quota counselling this year — one government college and two private colleges. Since the pool is small, candidates ranked lower in the merit list should study the detailed seat matrix on the portal carefully to understand exactly how many MBBS seats exist per category at each college before finalising their choice order.

  • Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) — Government
  • Tripura Medical College and Dr BRAM Teaching Hospital, Hapania — Private
  • Tripura Santiniketan Medical College — Private

Who can take part, and what documents are needed

Only candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 and meet Tripura's domicile conditions, as laid down by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), are eligible for this counselling round. Full eligibility criteria are spelt out in the official Information Bulletin available on the TRMCC portal, and candidates should read it rather than rely on rumour or hearsay about domicile rules.

Before reporting, keep both digital and physical copies of your key documents ready — verification at the allotted college is where admissions actually get finalised, and a missing certificate can hold up your seat confirmation even after allotment.

  • NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and pass certificates
  • Tripura permanent residence certificate
  • Category certificate, where applicable
  • PwD certificate, if claiming that reservation
  • Recent passport-size photograph and signature
  • Valid ID proof such as Aadhaar
  • TRMCC registration slip and fee payment receipt

How to fill and lock your choices

Choice filling is done entirely online through the TRMCC portal using your NEET UG roll number and password. The order in which you arrange your college preferences matters — allotment is based on your rank and the sequence you set, so put colleges you would genuinely accept higher up rather than listing every option indiscriminately.

One point candidates often miss: if you do not lock your list manually before the deadline, the system will auto-lock whatever choices you have entered at that point, and no further edits are possible after the window shuts. So it is safer to review and lock your list well before 11:59 PM on August 30 rather than at the last minute.

  • Log in at trmcc.admissions.nic.in with your NEET roll number
  • Open the choice filling section and select your preferred colleges
  • Arrange choices strictly in order of genuine preference
  • Lock the final list before the deadline — don't leave it to auto-lock

After choices close: allotment and reporting

Once choice filling ends, TRMCC will process seat allotment for Round 1. Candidates who are allotted a seat will get a provisional allotment letter through the portal, which they must download and carry while reporting to the allotted college. Admission becomes final only after physical document verification at the institution — so allotment alone doesn't complete the process.
