Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Telangana has released the official seat matrix for Phase 4 counselling under the Management Quota for the 2026-27 academic year. This document lists exactly how many Management Quota seats (CAT-B and NRI) are available at each of the 28 private medical colleges and 11 private dental colleges in Telangana. If you are eligible for Management Quota counselling and have not yet been allotted a seat in earlier phases, this matrix shows you where seats remain available and how many. This is critical information before you apply in Phase 4.
Phase 4 Management Quota seats are now open across Telangana's private medical and dental colleges — check this matrix to see which colleges have seats in your category (CAT-B or NRI) before you apply.

Unlock My College ListWhat is Phase 4 and the Management Quota?
Phase 4 is the final round of NEET-UG counselling for Telangana, also called the 'stray vacancy' phase. It is held after Phases 1, 2, and 3 have been completed. In Phase 4, any seats that remain unfilled after earlier phases are opened for fresh applications. This includes seats that candidates rejected, seats that were not filled because no eligible candidate accepted them, and seats that were held back for this final phase.
The Management Quota refers to seats that private medical and dental colleges can fill directly, outside the main merit-based counselling. These seats are divided into two categories: CAT-B (Competent Authority Quota — seats the state government allocates to private colleges, which the colleges then fill) and NRI (Non-Resident Indian seats, which are filled at higher fees). CAT-B seats are further split into LOCAL (for Telangana residents) and UR (Unreserved, open to all Indians). This matrix shows you exactly how many of each type remain available at each college for Phase 4.
Medical Colleges: Available Seats by Category
The matrix lists 28 private medical colleges across Telangana. For each college, three numbers are shown: CAT-B LOCAL seats, CAT-B UR seats, and CAT-C/NRI seats. CAT-B LOCAL seats are reserved for candidates who are permanent residents of Telangana. CAT-B UR seats are open to any Indian candidate, regardless of state of residence. CAT-C/NRI seats are for Non-Resident Indians and are filled at significantly higher fees (typically ₹1.5–2 crore for the full course, compared to ₹25–30 lakh for CAT-B seats).
Some colleges show zero seats across all categories — this means all their Management Quota seats were filled in earlier phases and no stray vacancies remain. Other colleges have seats available. For example, Nova Institute of Medical Sciences, Hayathnagar has 5 CAT-B LOCAL, 3 CAT-B UR, and 34 NRI seats available. Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences has 0 LOCAL, 26 UR, and 10 NRI seats. Before you apply, identify which colleges have seats in the category you are eligible for.
- CAT-B LOCAL: for Telangana permanent residents only
- CAT-B UR: for any Indian candidate
- CAT-C/NRI: for Non-Resident Indians (higher fees)
- Zero seats = college is full; no Phase 4 vacancy

Dental Colleges: Available Seats by Category
The matrix also lists 11 private dental colleges in Telangana with their Phase 4 Management Quota seat availability. The same three categories apply: CAT-B LOCAL, CAT-B UR, and CAT-C/NRI. Dental seats are fewer in number than medical seats, so vacancies are more limited. For example, Meghana Institute of Dental Sciences, Mallaram, Nizamabad has 10 CAT-B LOCAL, 1 CAT-B UR, and 12 NRI seats. Thirumala Institute of Dental Sciences, Nizamabad has 8 LOCAL, 3 UR, and 15 NRI seats. Several dental colleges show zero seats, meaning they are full.
If you are a BDS candidate and did not secure a seat in Phases 1–3, check this matrix to see which dental colleges still have vacancies in your eligible category. Note that some colleges may have seats in only one or two categories, not all three.
- CAT-B LOCAL: for Telangana permanent residents only
- CAT-B UR: for any Indian candidate
- CAT-C/NRI: for Non-Resident Indians (higher fees)
- Dental seats are limited; check availability carefully

Who is Eligible for Phase 4 Management Quota Counselling?
To be eligible for Phase 4 Management Quota counselling, you must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and registered for Telangana counselling. You must not have been allotted a seat in Phases 1, 2, or 3, or you must have rejected your allotted seat and are now applying again. Your NEET score must meet the college's minimum eligibility criteria (this varies by college and is set by the institution).
If you are applying for CAT-B LOCAL seats, you must be a permanent resident of Telangana — this is verified through your domicile certificate. If you are applying for CAT-B UR seats, you can be from any state in India. If you are applying for NRI seats, you must hold a valid passport and be classified as a Non-Resident Indian as per the college's definition (typically, you or your parents must have lived outside India for a specified period). Check the college's prospectus for exact NRI eligibility rules, as they vary.
- Must have qualified NEET UG 2026
- Must be registered for Telangana counselling
- Must not have been allotted a seat in Phases 1–3, or must have rejected your Phase 1–3 allotment
- Must meet the college's minimum NEET score requirement
- For CAT-B LOCAL: must be a Telangana permanent resident (domicile certificate required)
- For CAT-B UR: can be from any state
- For NRI: must hold a valid passport and meet the college's NRI definition
Important Notes on Female-Only Colleges
Two colleges in the matrix are marked as 'for Female Candidates only': Raja Rajeshwari Institute Of Medical Sciences, Patancheru, Sangareddy (medical) and Dr. V.R.K. Women's Medical College, Aziz Nagar, Moinabad, Hyderabad (medical). These colleges accept applications only from female candidates. If you are a male candidate, you cannot apply to these colleges even if they have available seats. All other colleges in the matrix are open to both male and female candidates.
If you are a female candidate, you can apply to any college in the matrix, including the female-only colleges and all co-educational colleges. This gives you more options.
- Raja Rajeshwari Institute (RAJE): female candidates only
- Dr. V.R.K. Women's Medical College (VRKW): female candidates only
- All other colleges: open to both male and female candidates
- Female candidates can apply to any college, including co-ed and female-only
How to Use This Seat Matrix When Applying
This matrix is your reference document for Phase 4 application. Before you fill out your application form, identify which colleges have seats available in the category you are eligible for. For example, if you are a Telangana resident and have a NEET score of 450, look for colleges with CAT-B LOCAL seats available. If you are an NRI, look for colleges with NRI seats. Write down the college codes and names of colleges where you want to apply.
When you log into the KNRUHS counselling portal for Phase 4, you will be asked to list your preferred colleges in order of choice. You can apply to multiple colleges, but you can only be allotted one seat. The counselling system will match your NEET score and category to available seats and allot you the highest-ranked college on your preference list where you are eligible and where a seat is available. Therefore, arrange your preferences carefully: put your most-preferred college first, even if it has fewer seats, because the system respects your choice order.
Do not apply to colleges that show zero seats in your category — your application will not be considered for those colleges. Also, do not apply to female-only colleges if you are male, as your application will be rejected.
- Identify colleges with seats in your eligible category
- Write down college codes and names
- Log into KNRUHS counselling portal for Phase 4
- List colleges in order of preference (most preferred first)
- You can apply to multiple colleges but will be allotted only one
- Do not apply to colleges with zero seats in your category
- Do not apply to female-only colleges if you are male
Colleges with the Most Available Seats
If you are looking for colleges with the highest number of available seats in Phase 4, here are the standouts: Nova Institute of Medical Sciences, Hayathnagar (5 LOCAL, 3 UR, 34 NRI) has the most NRI seats available among medical colleges. Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences has 26 UR seats available, making it a strong option for unreserved candidates. Chalmeda Ananda Rao Inst of Medical Sciences, Karimnagar has 16 NRI seats. For dental colleges, Thirumala Institute of Dental Sciences, Nizamabad has the most seats overall (8 LOCAL, 3 UR, 15 NRI), followed by Meghana Institute of Dental Sciences, Mallaram, Nizamabad (10 LOCAL, 1 UR, 12 NRI).
However, remember that seat availability does not guarantee admission. Your NEET score must meet the college's cutoff, and you must be in the correct category. Colleges with many available seats may have higher cutoffs because they are more popular. Conversely, colleges with fewer seats may have lower cutoffs. Check the college's previous-year cutoff data and prospectus before deciding.
Every kind of MBBS/BDS seat, one rank
See the real seats your NEET rank can reach.
- Medical — Most NRI seats: Nova Institute (34), Chalmeda Ananda Rao (16)
- Medical — Most UR seats: Neelima Institute (26)
- Medical — Most LOCAL seats: Surabhi Institute (4), Nova Institute (5)
- Dental — Most seats overall: Thirumala Institute (26 total), Meghana Institute (23 total)
- More seats ≠ lower cutoff; check previous-year data
Colleges with No Available Seats (Full)
Several colleges show zero seats across all categories, meaning they are completely full and have no Phase 4 vacancies. These colleges are: Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Hyderabad; Kamineni Academy of Medical Sciences & Research Center, LB Nagar, Hyderabad; Mamata Academy of Medical Sciences, Bachupally; Maheshwara Medical College, Patancheru; Bhaskar Medical College, Moina Bad; Dr. Patnam Mahender Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences, Chevella, Rangareddy; Deccan College of Medical Sciences, Kanchanbagh Hyderabad; Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences, Himayath Sagar Road, Hyderabad; and Sri Balaji Dental College, Yenkapally, Moina Bad (dental).
Do not waste time applying to these colleges in Phase 4. Your application will not be considered because there are no seats to fill. Focus your efforts on colleges that have at least one seat available in your eligible category.
- Medical colleges with zero seats: APLO, KMHD, MAMS, MAHE, BASK, DPMR, DCMS, SHDN
- Dental colleges with zero seats: BLJI
- Do not apply to these colleges in Phase 4
Understanding CAT-B vs. NRI Fees and Eligibility
CAT-B seats are significantly cheaper than NRI seats. A CAT-B seat typically costs ₹25–30 lakh for the entire 5.5-year MBBS course, while an NRI seat costs ₹1.5–2 crore or more. This is a massive difference. If you are eligible for both CAT-B and NRI seats (i.e., you are an NRI but also have Telangana domicile), prioritize CAT-B seats in your preference list because they are far more affordable.
However, NRI seats are easier to get because fewer candidates compete for them. If your NEET score is not high enough to secure a CAT-B seat at your preferred college, an NRI seat at that same college may be within reach. But be aware of the financial commitment: NRI fees are very high, and you must be certain your family can afford them before accepting an NRI seat. Some colleges also require NRI candidates to pay a large upfront deposit (sometimes ₹50 lakh or more) at the time of admission.
- CAT-B seats: ₹25–30 lakh for full course (affordable)
- NRI seats: ₹1.5–2 crore or more (very expensive)
- NRI seats have lower competition but much higher fees
- If eligible for both, prioritize CAT-B in your preference list
- Confirm your family can afford NRI fees before accepting an NRI seat
- Some colleges require large upfront NRI deposits at admission
What Happens After Phase 4?
Phase 4 is the final round of counselling for the 2026-27 academic year. After Phase 4 allotments are announced, any seats that remain unfilled are typically not filled through further counselling rounds. Instead, colleges may conduct their own spot admissions or keep the seats vacant. This means Phase 4 is your last chance to secure a seat through the official KNRUHS counselling process.
If you do not get allotted a seat in Phase 4, you have limited options: you can contact colleges directly to inquire about spot admissions (if they conduct them), or you can consider applying in the next academic year. Some colleges may also offer seats to candidates on a waitlist if allotted candidates do not join. Check with the college directly for these possibilities.
- Phase 4 is the final official counselling round
- Seats not filled in Phase 4 may not be filled through further counselling
- If not allotted in Phase 4, contact colleges for spot admissions
- Waitlist seats may become available if allotted candidates do not join
- Consider reapplying in the next academic year if needed

What is Phase 4 counselling?
Phase 4 is the final round of NEET-UG counselling for Telangana, held after Phases 1, 2, and 3. It is also called the 'stray vacancy' phase. In Phase 4, any seats that remain unfilled after earlier phases — because candidates rejected them, were not eligible, or were held back — are opened for fresh applications. If you did not get a seat in Phases 1–3, Phase 4 is your last chance through official counselling.
What is the difference between CAT-B and NRI seats?
CAT-B seats are allocated by the state government to private colleges and are affordable (₹25–30 lakh for the full course). NRI seats are for Non-Resident Indians and cost much more (₹1.5–2 crore or higher). CAT-B seats are divided into LOCAL (for Telangana residents) and UR (Unreserved, for any Indian). NRI seats have lower competition but much higher fees. If you are eligible for both, prioritize CAT-B because it is far cheaper.
How do I know which colleges have seats available for me?
Check this seat matrix and find colleges with available seats in your eligible category. If you are a Telangana resident, look for CAT-B LOCAL seats. If you are from another state, look for CAT-B UR seats. If you are an NRI, look for NRI seats. Colleges showing zero seats in your category have no Phase 4 vacancies — do not apply to them.
Can I apply to multiple colleges in Phase 4?
Yes, you can list multiple colleges in your preference order when you apply. However, you can only be allotted one seat. The counselling system will match your NEET score and category to available seats and allot you the highest-ranked college on your preference list where you are eligible and where a seat is available. Arrange your preferences carefully, with your most-preferred college first.
What if I am a male candidate and want to apply to Raja Rajeshwari Institute or Dr. V.R.K. Women's Medical College?
You cannot apply to these colleges because they are reserved for female candidates only. Your application will be rejected. All other colleges in the matrix are open to both male and female candidates.
What documents will I need for Phase 4 admission?
This seat matrix does not list the required documents. KNRUHS will provide a detailed list of documents in the Phase 4 notification and on the counselling portal. Typically, you will need your NEET admit card, NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets, domicile certificate (if applying for LOCAL seats), caste certificate (if applicable), passport (if applying for NRI seats), and other certificates as specified by the college. Check the Phase 4 notification carefully when it is released.
When will Phase 4 counselling happen?
This seat matrix was released on 23 October 2026, but it does not specify the exact dates for Phase 4 application, allotment, and joining. KNRUHS will announce these dates in a separate notification. Watch the KNRUHS website (knruhs.telangana.gov.in) and your registered email and phone number for the Phase 4 schedule. Do not miss the application deadline.
What happens if I do not get a seat in Phase 4?
Phase 4 is the final official counselling round. If you are not allotted a seat, you can contact colleges directly to inquire about spot admissions (if they conduct them). Some colleges may also offer seats to candidates on a waitlist if allotted candidates do not join. If neither option works, you can consider reapplying in the next academic year.
Why do some colleges show zero seats while others have many?
Colleges with zero seats are completely full — all their Management Quota seats were filled in Phases 1–3. Colleges with available seats had candidates reject them, or seats were held back for Phase 4. More available seats does not mean lower cutoffs; popular colleges with many seats may still have high cutoffs. Check the college's previous-year cutoff data before deciding.
Can I change my preference list after submitting my Phase 4 application?
This seat matrix does not specify whether preference lists can be edited after submission. Check the Phase 4 notification and the KNRUHS counselling portal for the exact rules. Typically, you can edit your preferences until the application deadline, but not after. Submit your final preference list carefully.
What is the fee for CAT-B seats vs. NRI seats?
CAT-B seats typically cost ₹25–30 lakh for the entire 5.5-year MBBS course. NRI seats cost ₹1.5–2 crore or more, depending on the college. Some colleges also require NRI candidates to pay a large upfront deposit (sometimes ₹50 lakh or more) at the time of admission. Check the college's prospectus for exact fee details.
Do I need to be a Telangana resident to apply for CAT-B UR seats?
No. CAT-B UR (Unreserved) seats are open to any Indian candidate, regardless of state of residence. However, CAT-B LOCAL seats are reserved for Telangana permanent residents only and require a domicile certificate. If you are from another state, apply for CAT-B UR seats, not LOCAL seats.
This seat matrix is your reference for Phase 4 Management Quota counselling. Identify colleges with available seats in your eligible category, note their codes and names, and prepare your preference list. Watch the KNRUHS website for the Phase 4 application schedule — it will be announced separately. When Phase 4 opens, log into the counselling portal, submit your application, and list your preferred colleges in order. Phase 4 is your final chance to secure a seat through official counselling, so act promptly when dates are announced.
