The Rajasthan NEET UG counselling board has issued an urgent notice: today, 7 October 2026, is the final deadline for both security deposit payment and choice filling for Round 3. The security deposit must be paid by 5 PM, and all choice selections must be filled and saved by 11:45 PM — after which the system will automatically lock and no further changes will be allowed. This is your last chance to participate in Round 3 upgradation or to confirm your seat. If you have already joined a college in an earlier round and want to try for a better seat, or if you are a new candidate eligible for Round 3, you must act today.

Today, 7 October 2026, marks the final day for two critical actions in Rajasthan's Round 3 NEET UG counselling: paying your security deposit and filling your choice of colleges and courses. The board has set two separate deadlines to ensure candidates complete both steps.
The security deposit must be submitted by 5 PM today. This is a non-refundable amount that confirms your participation in the round. Without it, your choice filling will not be processed.
Choice filling — selecting which colleges and courses you wish to be considered for — must be completed and saved by 11:45 PM today. After 11:45 PM, the online portal will automatically lock, and no further edits or submissions will be accepted. This is a hard deadline; there are no extensions.
Who must complete these steps today?
Two groups of candidates must act today:
1. **Candidates who have already joined a college in Round 1 or Round 2** and wish to participate in Round 3 upgradation. If you joined a seat earlier but want to try for a better college or course, you can fill fresh choices in Round 3. Your previously joined college will automatically remain as your last choice — if you are not upgraded, you will retain that seat.
2. **New candidates eligible for Round 3** who have not yet been allotted or joined a seat. This includes candidates from special categories (NRI, WDP, WPP, PwBD/PwD) whose verification was completed and who appear on the Round 3 merit lists released on 6 October 2026.
Security deposit: amount and payment method
The notice does not specify the exact amount of the security deposit. You must check the Rajasthan NEET UG counselling portal (ug.neetrajasthan.com) or contact SMS Medical College, Jaipur, for the deposit amount applicable to your category and course (MBBS or BDS).
The deposit must be paid by 5 PM today. Ensure you complete the payment well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues. The portal will show you the payment gateway and options available.
Keep your payment receipt or confirmation number. You will need it as proof of deposit if there are any disputes or if you need to claim a refund later (if applicable under the rules).
Choice filling: what you must do
After paying the security deposit, log into the counselling portal and navigate to the choice-filling section for Round 3. You will see a list of available seats across all colleges and courses for which you are eligible.
Select the colleges and courses you wish to be considered for, in order of your preference. Rank them from your first choice (most preferred) to your last choice (least preferred). The system will allot you the highest-ranked seat for which you qualify based on your merit position and category.

**Important for candidates who joined earlier:** Your previously joined college will automatically appear as your last choice. You do not need to add it again. If you are not upgraded to a better seat in Round 3, this seat will be retained for you.
Once you have filled all your choices, click 'Save' to submit them. Do not just fill the form and close the browser — you must explicitly save your choices. After saving, the portal will show a confirmation message. Take a screenshot or note of this confirmation.
**Critical:** After 11:45 PM today, the system will auto-lock. No further changes, additions, or deletions to your choices will be possible. If you have not saved by then, your choices will not be recorded, and you will not participate in Round 3.
- Log in to ug.neetrajasthan.com
- Navigate to Round 3 choice filling
- Select and rank colleges/courses by preference
- Click 'Save' to submit (do not just close the browser)
- Confirm your choices were saved
- Complete this by 11:45 PM today
Important dates and times — today only
All deadlines are on 7 October 2026 (today):
Security deposit payment: must be completed by 5 PM (17:00 hours).
Choice filling: must be filled and saved by 11:45 PM (23:45 hours).
After 11:45 PM, the system will automatically lock. No changes will be accepted after this time, regardless of technical issues or personal circumstances.
| Action | Deadline | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Security deposit payment | 7 October 2026 | 5:00 PM |
| Choice filling and saving | 7 October 2026 | 11:45 PM |
| System auto-lock (no further changes allowed) | 7 October 2026 | After 11:45 PM |
What happens after 11:45 PM today?
Once the system locks at 11:45 PM, the counselling board will process all saved choices. Merit lists will be generated based on your rank, category, and the preferences you submitted.
An allotment list will be released (date to be announced separately). This list will show which seat, if any, has been allotted to you based on your merit and choices.
If you are allotted a seat, you will be required to report to the college and complete joining formalities (payment of fees, submission of documents, etc.) by a date specified in the allotment notice.
If you are not allotted a seat in Round 3 and you had joined a college in an earlier round, your earlier seat will be retained. You will remain admitted to that college unless you formally resign.
Special note for candidates who joined earlier
If you joined a college in Round 1 or Round 2, you are eligible to participate in Round 3 upgradation. This means you can fill fresh choices and try to get a better seat (a college with a higher rank, a better course, or a more preferred location).
Your current joined seat will automatically be set as your last choice in Round 3. This is a safety net: if you do not get upgraded to a better seat, you will keep your current seat.
You must still pay the security deposit and fill fresh choices today to participate. Simply not filling choices means you will not be considered for upgradation, and your current seat will remain yours.

If you are upgraded to a new seat, you will need to resign from your current college (if required by the rules) and join the new college. The board will issue separate instructions for this process.
Common mistakes that will cost you your seat
**Not paying the security deposit by 5 PM:** If you skip this step, your choice filling will not be processed, and you will not participate in Round 3. You will lose any chance of upgradation.
**Filling choices but not saving:** Many candidates fill their preferences but forget to click the 'Save' button. If you do not save, your choices are not recorded. The system will treat you as if you did not fill any choices.
**Saving after 11:45 PM:** The system auto-locks at 11:45 PM sharp. If you try to save after this time, the portal will reject your submission. There are no exceptions, no extensions, and no manual overrides.
**Not ranking choices in order of preference:** If you select colleges but do not rank them, the system may not process your choices correctly. Always arrange them from most preferred to least preferred.
**Assuming your old seat is automatically included:** If you joined earlier, do not assume your old seat is in your choices. The board says it will be automatically set as your last choice, but verify this on the portal before saving. If it is not there and you do not add it, you may lose it.
What to do right now
1. **Check your eligibility:** Confirm that you are eligible for Round 3. Check the merit lists released on 6 October 2026 (available on the portal) to see if your name appears. If you joined in an earlier round, you are automatically eligible.
2. **Know the security deposit amount:** Visit ug.neetrajasthan.com or call SMS Medical College, Jaipur, to find out the exact security deposit amount for your category and course.
3. **Arrange payment:** Ensure you have the funds ready and access to a payment method (debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI) to pay the deposit by 5 PM.
4. **Log in and check the portal:** Log into your counselling account and verify that you can access the Round 3 choice-filling section. If there are any login issues, resolve them now, not at 11 PM.
5. **Prepare your choice list:** Before you log in to fill choices, write down the colleges and courses you are interested in, ranked in order of preference. This will help you fill the form quickly and accurately.
6. **Complete both steps by the deadlines:** Pay the deposit by 5 PM, then fill and save your choices by 11:45 PM. Do not delay.
