Who is eligible to apply in Round 3?

BFUHS has defined four groups of candidates who can participate in Round 3. Understanding your eligibility is the first step before registering.

You are eligible if you received no seat allotment in Round 1 or Round 2, or if your earlier allotment was cancelled due to a change in your category status. You can also apply if you were allotted a seat in an earlier round but wish to upgrade to a better college or course. Additionally, if you surrendered your seat after the security deposit was forfeited, you remain eligible for Round 3.

Important: If you already hold a seat from Round 1 or Round 2 and do not wish to upgrade, you do not need to re-register. NRI quota applicants have a separate deadline of October 1, 2026 at 2 PM to apply.

  • No prior allotment in Round 1 or Round 2
  • Earlier allotment cancelled due to category change
  • Seeking upgradation after reporting at an allotted college
  • Surrendered a seat after security deposit forfeiture

Registration and security deposit fees for Round 3

The cost of registering for Round 3 varies by your category. Both registration fees include 18% GST and must be paid online during the registration window.

Beyond the registration fee, you must also submit a security deposit when you indicate your willingness to accept a seat. The security deposit amount depends on whether you prefer government colleges, private colleges, or both. Government college preferences attract lower deposits for SC/BC/PwD candidates, while private college preferences require a significantly higher deposit of Rs 2 lakh.

Why Round 3 is your final chance before mop-up

Round 3 is the last state-level counselling round in Punjab. After this, only mop-up counselling remains, which typically has very limited seats and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with minimal choice.

If you are still waiting for a seat, this is your opportunity to secure one through a structured merit-based process. If you were allotted a college in an earlier round but it was not your preferred choice, Round 3 allows you to upgrade. Missing the October 2 deadline means you will have to wait for mop-up counselling, where your options will be severely limited. Act now if you are eligible.

What to prepare before registering

Gather all required documents and information before you start the registration process. This will help you complete it quickly and avoid errors.

Keep your NEET UG 2026 scorecard, admit card, and ID proof (Aadhaar, passport, or voter ID) ready. Have your academic certificates and mark sheets scanned and saved in the correct format. Know your category status and whether you qualify for any reserved category. Prepare a list of colleges you are interested in and their course preferences. Have your bank details ready for online fee payment. Double-check all information before submitting, as corrections may not be possible after registration closes.

  • NEET UG 2026 scorecard and admit card
  • Valid ID proof (Aadhaar, passport, voter ID)
  • Academic certificates and mark sheets (scanned)
  • Category status confirmation
  • List of preferred colleges and courses

What happens after you submit your choices

After you fill and submit your college and course choices on October 6 or 7, BFUHS will process your preferences against the available seats. The provisional allotment result will be released on October 10, showing which college and course you have been allotted based on your merit rank and choices.

You will have until October 11 at 3 PM to raise objections if there is an error in the allotment. The final result will also be released on October 11. If you are allotted a seat, you must report at the college between October 12 and 14 with all original documents and pay the balance fee. Failure to report within this window will result in forfeiture of your seat.
