Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has released the final provisional allotment list for the stray round of MBBS and BDS counselling for the 2026–27 academic session. The list was published on 23 October 2026 after no objections were received against the provisional list released on 22 October 2026. This is the last chance for candidates who did not secure a seat in earlier counselling rounds. If your name appears on this list, you have been provisionally allocated a seat at a specific college in a specific course and quota category — but this allocation is NOT final and does NOT guarantee admission until you complete document verification and meet all eligibility conditions.

Your provisional allotment is conditional: admission requires successful verification of all original documents, proof of eligibility, and compliance with all rules — any false information or missing documents will result in cancellation of your seat.

What is the Stray Round and Why Does It Matter?

The stray round is the final counselling round in the NEET UG admission process. It is held after all regular counselling rounds are complete, to fill any remaining vacant seats. Candidates who did not get a seat in earlier rounds, or who wish to upgrade to a better college or course, participate in the stray round.

This stray round allotment list is your chance to secure admission to an MBBS or BDS programme in Punjab. The list contains the names of all candidates who have been provisionally allocated seats. If your name is on this list, you must now move to the next step: document verification at your allotted college.

Understanding 'Provisional' Allocation — It Is NOT Final

The word 'provisional' is critical. Your allocation on this list does NOT mean you have been admitted. It means you have been tentatively assigned a seat, subject to verification. The university has made clear that 'mere provisional allocation of a seat shall not confer any right upon the candidate to claim admission to the allotted course or college.'

Admission will only be confirmed after the college verifies all your original documents (mark sheets, certificates, category proof, domicile, etc.), confirms you meet all eligibility rules, and you comply with all applicable regulations. If any document is missing, forged, or if you have withheld or misrepresented any information, your allocation will be cancelled immediately — and you will lose your seat.

How to Find Your Name on the List

The allotment list is a 9-page table containing the following columns for each candidate: M No (serial number), Registration Number, NEET Roll Number, NEET Rank, Candidate Name, Father's Name, Allotted College, Allotted Course, Allotted Quota, Allotted Category, and Status.

Search the list by your NEET roll number or name. Note down your registration number, the exact name of your allotted college, the course (M.B.B.S. or B.D.S), the quota type (Govt. Quota, Open Quota, Management Quota, or Christian Minority), and your allotted category (e.g., Open, Scheduled Caste, Backward Classes, Defence, J&K, 2E). All this information will be needed when you report to your college.

The stray round list includes allocations across multiple medical and dental colleges in Punjab, including government colleges (Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Faridkot, Government Dental College Patiala, Government Dental College Amritsar), private colleges (Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences Jalandhar, Christian Medical College Ludhiana, RIMT Medical College, Desh Bhagat Dental College, Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences, and others), and colleges with management seats.

Courses allocated are M.B.B.S. (5-year Bachelor of Medicine) and B.D.S (3-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery). Quota types include Government Quota (seats filled by the state), Open Quota (merit-based, open to all), Management Quota (seats managed by the college), and Christian Minority (for Christian Medical College). Your quota type determines your eligibility and the rules you must follow.

  • Government Quota: State-funded seats, typically for domicile candidates or those meeting state eligibility
  • Open Quota: Merit-based seats open to all eligible candidates across India
  • Management Quota: Seats managed by the college, often with higher fees
  • Christian Minority: Reserved for Christian Medical College, Ludhiana

Critical: Document Verification and Eligibility Confirmation

Your next step is to report to your allotted college for document verification. You must bring ALL original documents, including: NEET admit card and score card, 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates, graduation certificate (if applicable), category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS if applicable), domicile certificate, migration certificate (if applicable), character certificate, medical fitness certificate, and any other document specified in the college's admission prospectus.

The college will verify that every document is genuine, that you meet all eligibility conditions (age, qualification, category, domicile, etc.), and that the information you provided during counselling matches your original documents. If there is any discrepancy, mismatch, or missing document, your allocation will be cancelled. The university has explicitly stated: 'If, at any stage, it is found that a candidate has withheld, concealed, suppressed or misrepresented any material fact or information, furnished misleading information/document, or has otherwise obtained the provisional allocation by fraud, misrepresentation or suppression of facts, the allocation/admission of such candidate shall be liable to be cancelled forthwith.'

  • NEET admit card and score card
  • 10th mark sheet and certificate
  • 12th mark sheet and certificate
  • Graduation certificate (if applicable)
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) — if applicable
  • Domicile/residence certificate
  • Migration certificate (if applicable)
  • Character certificate
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Any other document required by the college prospectus

What Happens If Your Documents Are Not in Order?

If you cannot produce all original documents, or if any document is found to be incorrect, forged, or does not match the information you provided during counselling, your provisional allocation will be cancelled. This is not a warning — it is a firm rule. The university reserves the right to cancel any allocation at any stage of the admission process if it is found to have been made in error or in violation of rules.

Common reasons for cancellation include: missing or incomplete certificates, category certificate that does not match your application, domicile certificate from the wrong state, age below 17 years on the date of NEET exam, qualification not meeting the prescribed standard, or any evidence of fraud or misrepresentation. Do not assume that a small error will be overlooked — it will not.

Allotted Category and What It Means

The allotment list shows an 'Allotted Category' column, which indicates the specific category under which you have been allocated. This may be 'Open' (unreserved), 'Scheduled Caste', 'Backward Classes', 'Defence', 'J&K' (Jammu & Kashmir migrant), '2E' (Person with Disability), or other categories as per state rules.

Your allotted category must match the category you claimed during counselling and for which you have valid proof (e.g., a caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC, a defence certificate for Defence category). If there is a mismatch, or if you do not have the required certificate, your allocation will be cancelled. Ensure that the category shown on the list is the one you are eligible for and have proof of.

Important Dates and Next Steps

The provisional allotment list was finalized on 23 October 2026. The notice does not specify the exact date by which you must report to your college for document verification, but you should contact your allotted college immediately to confirm the reporting date and time. Do not delay — colleges typically give a short window (3–7 days) for candidates to report.

Once you report and your documents are verified and you are confirmed eligible, you will be issued an admission letter. You will then be required to pay the admission fee and complete any remaining formalities (hostel registration, etc.) as per the college's instructions. Failure to report on time or to complete verification may result in your seat being forfeited.

  • Provisional allotment list finalized: 23 October 2026
  • Contact your allotted college immediately to confirm reporting date
  • Report with all original documents within the college's specified deadline
  • Complete document verification and eligibility confirmation
  • Receive admission letter and pay admission fee

What If Your Name Is NOT on the List?

If your name does not appear on the stray round allotment list, it means you have not been allocated a seat in this round. This could be because: (1) you did not participate in the stray round counselling, (2) you participated but your rank was not high enough to secure any available seat, or (3) you chose not to accept any of the colleges offered to you.

If you believe your name should be on the list, contact BFUHS immediately with your NEET roll number and registration number. If you did not participate in the stray round, check if there are any further counselling rounds or if you can apply for admission through management quota or private colleges. Do not assume that the stray round is your only option — explore all available pathways.

Fraud and Misrepresentation: Serious Consequences

The university has made it absolutely clear that any candidate who has withheld information, concealed facts, suppressed documents, or misrepresented any material fact will face immediate cancellation of their allocation and admission. This is not limited to the admission process — the university reserves the right to take further action against the candidate under applicable rules and law.

Examples of fraud include: claiming a false category, providing a forged certificate, hiding a previous rejection or cancellation, misrepresenting your domicile, or providing false information about your qualifications. If you are unsure about any aspect of your eligibility, disclose it to the college during verification rather than risk cancellation later. Honesty is your best protection.

University's Right to Correct or Cancel Allocations

The university has explicitly reserved the right to correct, modify, withdraw, or cancel any provisional allocation found to have been made erroneously or in contravention of applicable rules, at any stage of the admission process. This means that even after you have been allocated a seat, if an error is discovered (e.g., a duplicate allocation, a rank calculation error, or a rule violation), your allocation can be cancelled and corrected.

This is a safeguard to ensure fairness and integrity in the admission process. It also means you should not assume your seat is secure until you have completed document verification and received your final admission letter from the college.

Frequently asked questions

Does being on the provisional allotment list mean I am admitted?

No. Provisional allocation is NOT admission. It is a tentative assignment of a seat, subject to verification of all your documents and confirmation of your eligibility. Admission is only confirmed after the college verifies your original documents, confirms you meet all eligibility conditions, and you comply with all applicable rules. If any document is missing or incorrect, your allocation will be cancelled.

What documents do I need to bring for verification?

You must bring all original documents: NEET admit card and score card, 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates, graduation certificate (if applicable), category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS if applicable), domicile certificate, migration certificate (if applicable), character certificate, medical fitness certificate, and any other document specified in the college prospectus. Do not bring photocopies — originals are required.

When and where do I report for document verification?

The notice does not specify the exact reporting date. You must contact your allotted college immediately to confirm the reporting date, time, and location. Colleges typically give a short window (3–7 days) for candidates to report. Do not delay — if you miss the deadline, your seat may be forfeited.

What happens if I have a category certificate but it does not match my application?

If your category certificate does not match the category you claimed during counselling or the category shown on the allotment list, your allocation will be cancelled. Ensure that your category certificate is valid, issued by the correct authority, and matches your application. If there is any doubt, clarify it with the college before reporting for verification.

Can my allocation be cancelled after I have been provisionally allotted?

Yes. The university reserves the right to cancel any provisional allocation at any stage of the admission process if it is found to have been made erroneously or in violation of rules. Additionally, if during document verification any discrepancy, missing document, or evidence of fraud is found, your allocation will be cancelled immediately.

What if I have withheld or misrepresented information during counselling?

If you have withheld, concealed, suppressed, or misrepresented any material fact or information, your allocation will be cancelled forthwith, and the university may take further action against you under applicable rules and law. It is better to disclose any uncertainty or issue to the college during verification than to risk cancellation and legal consequences later.

My name is not on the stray round allotment list. What should I do?

If your name is not on the list, contact BFUHS immediately with your NEET roll number and registration number to confirm. If you did not participate in the stray round, check if there are further counselling rounds. You may also explore admission through management quota or private colleges. Do not assume the stray round is your only option.

What is the difference between Government Quota, Open Quota, and Management Quota?

Government Quota seats are state-funded and typically reserved for domicile candidates or those meeting state eligibility rules. Open Quota seats are merit-based and open to all eligible candidates across India. Management Quota seats are managed by the college and often have higher fees. Your quota type determines your eligibility, fee structure, and the rules you must follow.

If I am allocated a seat but do not want it, can I decline and wait for another round?

The notice does not specify the procedure for declining a seat. However, if you do not report for document verification within the college's deadline, your seat will likely be forfeited. Contact your allotted college or BFUHS to clarify the procedure for declining a seat if you wish to do so.

What if I find an error in my allotment (e.g., wrong college or course)?

Contact BFUHS immediately with your NEET roll number and registration number to report the error. The university has the right to correct any allocation found to have been made erroneously. Do not assume the error will be corrected automatically — report it as soon as possible.

Is there a fee for the provisional allotment or for document verification?

The notice does not mention any fee for the provisional allotment or document verification. However, once you are confirmed eligible and admitted, you will be required to pay the admission fee and any other fees as per the college's fee structure. Contact your allotted college for details on fees.

Can the university cancel my allocation after I have paid the admission fee?

Yes. The university reserves the right to cancel any allocation at any stage of the admission process if it is found to have been made erroneously or in violation of rules, or if fraud or misrepresentation is discovered. This right exists even after admission fees have been paid. Ensure all your documents and information are accurate and truthful.

If your name is on the provisional allotment list, contact your allotted college immediately to confirm the reporting date for document verification. Gather all your original documents (NEET score card, mark sheets, certificates, category proof, domicile, etc.) and report on time. Remember: this allocation is provisional and conditional on successful document verification and eligibility confirmation. Any missing, incorrect, or fraudulent document will result in immediate cancellation of your seat. Do not delay — act now.
