Puducherry NEET UG 2026: 35 MCC Round 3 Candidates Removed from CENTAC Round 3 List

Puducherry CENTAC has removed 35 candidates admitted in MCC Round 3 from the CENTAC Round 3 eligible list. Check if your name is on the weeded-out list and understand what this means for your admission.

MedAdmit News Desk 11 Oct 2026 6 min read

On 10 October 2026, Puducherry's Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) published a list of 35 candidates who have been removed from the CENTAC Round 3 eligible list. These are candidates who were already admitted in MCC Round 3 (the national-level counselling round) and therefore cannot participate in Puducherry's own Round 3 counselling. This removal is automatic and administrative — it prevents double admission. If your name appears on this list, you are already placed through MCC Round 3 and should not expect a seat in CENTAC Round 3.

If your name is on this weeded-out list, you have already been admitted through MCC Round 3 and are ineligible for CENTAC Round 3 counselling.

What is this list and why does it matter?

This is a removal list — it names 35 candidates who must be excluded from CENTAC Round 3 counselling. These candidates were already allocated seats in MCC Round 3 (the national counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee). Since they are already admitted, they cannot be offered seats again in Puducherry's own Round 3 counselling.

The purpose is to prevent double admission. A candidate cannot hold two MBBS or BDS seats simultaneously. Once you are admitted through MCC Round 3, you are locked into that seat and cannot participate in state-level counselling rounds. CENTAC removes such candidates from its eligible pool to ensure seats go only to candidates who are still available.

If your name is on this list, your admission through MCC Round 3 is confirmed. You should not expect any further communication from CENTAC about Round 3 allocation. Your next step is to report to your MCC-allotted college and complete the joining process.

How to check if your name is on the weeded-out list

The list contains 35 candidates identified by their application number (APP NO), name, NEET roll number, NEET score, and NEET All India Rank. To check if you are on this list, you need your application number or name as it appears in your NEET registration.

Search the list carefully. The candidates are listed in order of their application number, starting from APP NO 62600503 (Jana K, NEET score 415) and ending at APP NO 62603339 (Anjanesh M, NEET score 177). If you find your name or application number, you are weeded out from CENTAC Round 3.

If your name is NOT on this list, you remain eligible for CENTAC Round 3 counselling (if you have not already been admitted through another round). Continue to monitor CENTAC's official website for the next round's schedule and instructions.

Who are these 35 candidates?

These are candidates from Puducherry (UTP — Union Territory of Puducherry) and other states who applied for CENTAC Round 3 counselling but were already admitted in MCC Round 3. The list includes candidates from various states, as indicated by their NEET roll numbers (which encode the state code).

Their NEET scores range from 415 (highest, Jana K) to 177 (lowest, Anjanesh M). Their All India Ranks range from 236,833 to 1,191,443. The fact that they were admitted in MCC Round 3 means they met the cutoff for their category and state quota in the national round.

What happens to these candidates now?

These 35 candidates are no longer part of CENTAC Round 3 counselling. They have been allocated seats through MCC Round 3 and must now focus on joining their allotted college. They should not expect any seat offer from CENTAC Round 3.

Their next responsibility is to report to their MCC-allotted medical college (MBBS or BDS) with all required documents, pay the admission fee, and complete the joining formalities within the deadline set by their college. Failure to join on time may result in forfeiture of the seat.

If a candidate from this list does not join their MCC-allotted seat within the prescribed time, they may lose the seat and become ineligible for further counselling rounds in that academic year.

What if you are NOT on this list?

If your name does not appear on the weeded-out list, you remain eligible for CENTAC Round 3 counselling. This means you have not been admitted in MCC Round 3 and are still in the running for a seat through Puducherry's counselling.

Continue to monitor CENTAC's official website (centac.ac.in or the Puducherry Directorate of Higher and Technical Education portal) for the announcement of CENTAC Round 3 schedule, including registration dates, choice-filling window, and allotment date.

Ensure you have all required documents ready (NEET scorecard, 12th mark sheet, category certificate if applicable, domicile certificate, and other documents as per CENTAC's requirements) so you can register promptly when the round opens.

Understanding MCC Round 3 vs. CENTAC Round 3

MCC Round 3 is the national-level counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee. It allocates seats in government medical colleges across India based on NEET scores and merit, following national-level category quotas (General, OBC, SC, ST, etc.). Once you are admitted in MCC Round 3, your seat is confirmed nationally.

CENTAC Round 3 is Puducherry's own state-level counselling round. It allocates seats in Puducherry's government medical colleges to candidates who have not been admitted in earlier rounds (MCC or CENTAC Rounds 1 and 2). CENTAC follows Puducherry's own category and quota rules, which may differ from national rules.

A candidate cannot hold seats in both MCC and CENTAC simultaneously. If you are admitted in MCC Round 3, you are automatically removed from CENTAC's eligible pool to prevent double admission. This is why these 35 candidates have been weeded out.

Important dates and next steps

This weeded-out list was published on 10 October 2026. It is a final administrative action — candidates on this list cannot appeal or request reinstatement to CENTAC Round 3.

If you are on the weeded-out list, your immediate action is to contact your MCC-allotted college and confirm your joining date, fee payment deadline, and document submission requirements. Do not delay — missing the joining deadline will result in loss of your seat.

If you are NOT on the weeded-out list, wait for CENTAC's announcement of Round 3 schedule. Typically, CENTAC publishes the round schedule, registration window, and choice-filling dates on its official website. Register as soon as the window opens and fill your choices carefully.

Frequently asked questions

What does 'weeded out' mean in this context?

Weeded out means removed or excluded. These 35 candidates have been removed from CENTAC Round 3 counselling because they are already admitted through MCC Round 3. They cannot participate in CENTAC Round 3 to prevent double admission.

If my name is on this list, what should I do?

If your name is on the weeded-out list, you are already admitted through MCC Round 3. Your next step is to contact your MCC-allotted medical college immediately, confirm your joining date and fee payment deadline, and complete all joining formalities. No. This is an automatic administrative action based on your admission in MCC Round 3. There is no appeal process. Your admission through MCC Round 3 is final, and you cannot participate in CENTAC Round 3.

If my name is NOT on this list, am I guaranteed a seat in CENTAC Round 3?

No. If your name is not on the weeded-out list, you remain eligible for CENTAC Round 3, but a seat is not guaranteed. Your eligibility depends on your NEET score, category, and the number of available seats. You must register and fill your choices when CENTAC Round 3 opens.

What is the difference between MCC Round 3 and CENTAC Round 3?

What if I don't join my MCC-allotted seat on time?

No. The list includes candidates from Puducherry (UTP) and other states who applied for CENTAC counselling but were already admitted in MCC Round 3. The removal applies to all such candidates regardless of their home state.

What documents do I need if I am on the weeded-out list?

The notice does not specify documents. However, you will need your NEET scorecard, 12th mark sheet, category certificate (if applicable), and other documents as required by your MCC-allotted college. Contact your college directly for the complete list of required documents.
