The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Board (OJEE) has released the Provisional State Merit List for the 2026-27 MBBS/BDS state-quota counselling. This list has been prepared using NEET UG ranks, after OJEE checked the documents that candidates uploaded during registration. This is not the final admission list — it only tells candidates whether they qualify to take part in the counselling rounds. OJEE has opened a very short window for candidates to flag mistakes in the list before it is finalised.
Candidates have only until 3:00 PM on 14 August 2026 to email OJEE if they find an error in the provisional merit list — after that, no complaint will be entertained.
What exactly has OJEE published?
OJEE has finished checking the documents uploaded by candidates who successfully registered for Odisha's state-quota MBBS/BDS counselling. Based on this check and each candidate's NEET UG rank, OJEE has now put out a Provisional State Merit List.
This list decides the order in which candidates will be considered for seat allotment in the state quota — the 85% of seats in Odisha's medical and dental colleges that the state fills through its own counselling (as opposed to the 15% All India Quota filled by MCC).
Being on the list does not mean you have a seat
OJEE has explicitly warned candidates not to assume too much from this list. It only means the candidate is eligible to take part in the counselling process. It is not a guarantee of admission and not a seat allotment.
Even if a candidate is later shown a seat allotment based on this merit list, that allotment will only be confirmed after the candidate's original documents are verified again in person (or as instructed) during the admission process. If the originals do not match what was uploaded, the allotment can still be cancelled.
Found an error in your rank or position? Act immediately
If a candidate believes there is a mistake in the provisional merit list — for example, a wrong category, an incorrect rank position, or a document that was misread — they can raise it directly with OJEE.
This must be done by email, with supporting documentary evidence attached, to the ID below. There is no other channel mentioned for raising objections.
- Email: odishaojee.mbbsquerry@gmail.com
- Deadline: 14-08-2026, up to 3:00 PM (Odisha time)
- Attach: relevant supporting documents that prove the error
- Any email received after 3:00 PM on 14-08-2026 will not be considered — there is no grace period mentioned
The trap: this window is extremely short
The notice is dated 13-08-2026 and the objection deadline is the very next day, 14-08-2026, at 3:00 PM. Candidates who do not check the merit list immediately risk missing this window entirely.
Because the deadline is a fixed date and time (not 'within X days'), waiting even a few hours after noticing an error could mean losing the chance to correct it before the merit list is finalised and used for seat allotment.
What to do right now
Every candidate who registered for Odisha state-quota MBBS/BDS counselling should check the provisional merit list without delay, verify their NEET rank, category, and any details shown, and email OJEE immediately if anything looks wrong.
- Log in to the OJEE counselling portal and locate your entry in the Provisional State Merit List
- Cross-check your NEET UG rank, category, and any other details shown against your own records
- If there is a discrepancy, gather proof (certificates, rank letter, ID proof, etc.)
- Email odishaojee.mbbsquerry@gmail.com with the proof before 3:00 PM on 14-08-2026
- Keep checking www.ojee.nic.in and www.odishajee.com for the next notice — likely the final merit list or the choice-filling/allotment schedule

See My CollegesFrequently asked questions
Does appearing on the provisional merit list mean I have got admission?
No. OJEE has clearly stated that being on the list only means you qualify for the counselling process. It does not guarantee admission or a seat allotment.
How was this merit list prepared?
OJEE verified the documents uploaded by candidates who had successfully registered, and then prepared the list in order of NEET UG rank.
I think there is an error in my rank or category on the list. What do I do?
Email odishaojee.mbbsquerry@gmail.com with supporting documentary evidence proving the error. This must reach OJEE by 3:00 PM on 14-08-2026.
What happens if I send my objection after 14-08-2026, 3:00 PM?
The notice states that any representation received after the stipulated date and time will not be considered. There is no exception mentioned.
If I get a seat allotment later based on this list, is it final?
No. Any allotment made using this merit list will be confirmed only after your original documents are successfully verified during the admission process.
Where can I check for further updates on Odisha MBBS/BDS counselling?
OJEE has asked candidates to regularly check the official websites www.ojee.nic.in and www.odishajee.com for further notices on the counselling process.
Is this list for All India Quota seats too?
No. This is the State Quota merit list, covering the seats Odisha fills through its own counselling. All India Quota seats are handled separately by MCC.
Check the provisional merit list on the OJEE counselling portal today and verify every detail against your own documents. If you spot any mistake, email OJEE with proof before 3:00 PM on 14 August 2026 — this window will not be extended. Keep an eye on www.ojee.nic.in and www.odishajee.com for the final merit list and the next counselling step.
