When and Where to Check Your NEET PG 2026 Round 1 Allotment

The MCC will announce round 1 seat allotment results on October 24, 2026, on the official website mcc.nic.in. This is the date you have been waiting for—your allotted college, course (MD or MS), and seat category will be published as a downloadable PDF.

To access your result, visit mcc.nic.in, navigate to the PG counselling section, and locate the round 1 seat allotment result PDF. Use the browser search function (Ctrl+F) to find your name quickly. Download and save the PDF immediately for your records and future reference during reporting and verification.

How MCC Allocates NEET PG Seats Across India

MCC manages 50% of all available MD and MS seats under the All India Quota (AIQ). The remaining 50% are reserved for state quota counselling, which is conducted by individual state authorities. Your allotment in round 1 applies only to AIQ seats; if you are eligible for state quota seats, you will participate in your state's separate counselling process.

Seat allocation is determined by your NEET PG rank, category (General, OBC, SC, ST), reservation eligibility, the choices you filled during the choice-filling window, and seat availability in each college and speciality. MCC conducts four rounds of AIQ counselling—rounds 1, 2, and 3, followed by a stray vacancy round if seats remain unfilled after round 3.

Once your seat allotment is declared on October 24, you must report to your allotted college within a strict timeframe: October 26 to November 2, 2026. This is not a flexible deadline. Failure to report within this window may result in forfeiture of your seat, and you will not be considered for subsequent rounds.

Reporting means physically visiting your college, submitting original documents, and completing the admission formalities. Plan your travel and document collection immediately after the result is announced. If you are unable to report due to unforeseen circumstances, contact your college and MCC without delay to explore options, though extensions are rarely granted.

Documents You Must Carry for Verification on November 3

Data verification—the formal check of your eligibility and credentials—will occur on November 3, 2026. You must bring original copies of all required documents to your college on this date. Incomplete or missing documentation can delay your admission or, in severe cases, lead to cancellation of your allotment.

Ensure you have gathered the following before reporting: your NEET PG admit card and result scorecard, MBBS or BDS mark sheets and degree certificate, internship completion certificate, Medical Council of India (MCI) registration certificate, proof of date of birth, valid government-issued ID, caste certificate (if applicable), and disability certificate (if applicable). Make photocopies as well, as colleges typically require both originals and attested copies.

Choice Filling Deadline: Complete Before Noon on October 23

If you have not yet filled your college and course preferences, the deadline is noon on October 23, 2026. This is your last opportunity to rank your preferred colleges and specialities. Your choices directly influence which seat you are allotted, so rank them carefully based on your NEET PG rank, career goals, and location preferences.

After the choice-filling window closes, MCC will process all submitted preferences and generate the allotment list. You cannot modify your choices once the deadline passes. If you miss this window, you will not receive an allotment in round 1 and will have to wait for round 2 counselling.

Understanding AIQ vs. State Quota in NEET PG Counselling

NEET PG counselling operates on a dual system: 50% of seats are managed by MCC (AIQ) and 50% by state authorities (state quota). If you are allotted an AIQ seat in round 1, you secure admission to that college and speciality. However, you may also be eligible for state quota seats in your home state or other states, depending on your rank and the state's eligibility criteria.

State quota counselling follows a separate schedule and process. Some states conduct counselling before MCC rounds, while others conduct it after. Check your state's official counselling website for dates and procedures. If you are allotted an AIQ seat and also participate in state quota counselling, you must choose one and withdraw from the other to avoid seat blocking.

What Happens If You Don't Report or Withdraw After Allotment

If you are allotted a seat but do not report by November 2, your seat will be cancelled, and you will be considered a non-reporter. You will not be eligible for round 2 counselling. This is a permanent loss of that seat in round 1.

If you report but later decide to withdraw (for example, because you secured a better seat in state quota counselling), you must formally withdraw through MCC before the withdrawal deadline. Withdrawing after reporting may result in a penalty or forfeiture of future rounds, depending on MCC rules. Always clarify withdrawal procedures with your college and MCC before taking action.

Preparing for Round 2 and Beyond

If you are not allotted a seat in round 1, or if you withdraw, you will be eligible for round 2 counselling. MCC typically conducts round 2 within 1–2 weeks of round 1 reporting. The process repeats: choice filling, allotment, and reporting. Rounds 2 and 3 offer opportunities to secure seats that were vacated by candidates who withdrew or did not report.

After round 3, if seats remain vacant, MCC conducts a stray vacancy round with relaxed eligibility criteria. Keep monitoring mcc.nic.in for announcements of subsequent rounds. Do not assume your journey ends if round 1 does not yield an allotment; many candidates secure seats in later rounds.
