Who Must Register Today for MP Mop-Up Round

The mop-up round is open to all NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates. However, registration requirements differ based on your participation in earlier rounds. If you applied in Round 1 or Round 2 and your name appears on the state merit list, you are automatically eligible and do not need to register again. Your status carries forward.

If you did not apply in Round 1 or Round 2, you must complete a fresh online registration today to participate in the mop-up round. You will also need to pay the counselling fee as part of this registration. Without fresh registration and fee payment, you will not be considered for seat allotment in this final round.

Registration Portal and How to Apply

All registrations are handled through the official DME MPOnline portal at dme.mponline.gov.in. Candidates must visit this website directly to complete their fresh registration form. The portal will remain open for registrations until 11:59 PM today, October 2, 2026. After this deadline, no fresh registrations will be accepted.

During registration, you will need to provide your NEET UG roll number, qualification details, and personal information. Ensure all details are accurate before submission. After completing registration, you will receive a confirmation and will be eligible to fill your college choices in the next phase.

A critical rule for the mop-up round is that any college choices you submitted in Round 1 or Round 2 will not automatically transfer to this round. Even if you were already registered in earlier rounds, your previous choices are now invalid and will not be considered for seat allotment.

This means every candidate—whether newly registered or previously listed—must fill and lock new college preferences during the choice-filling window from October 4 to 7, 2026. You will have the opportunity to rank colleges based on the updated vacancy list and your preferences. Take time to review the revised merit list and seat availability before making your choices.

Key Dates and Timeline for Mop-Up Round

The mop-up round follows a structured schedule to ensure fair and transparent seat allotment. Understanding these dates will help you plan your next steps and avoid missing any deadlines.

The revised state merit list and category-wise seat vacancy matrix will be published on October 3, 2026. Review this information carefully before filling your choices, as it will show you which seats are available in which colleges and categories. Choice filling and locking will take place from October 4 to 7, 2026, until 11:59 PM. Seat allotment results will be announced on October 10, 2026. Finally, candidates allotted seats must report in person to their assigned college between October 11 and 14, 2026, by 6 PM with all original documents to complete admission.

  • Fresh registration deadline: October 2, 2026, 11:59 PM
  • Revised merit list and vacancy details: October 3, 2026
  • Choice filling and locking: October 4–7, 2026, until 11:59 PM
  • Seat allotment results: October 10, 2026
  • In-person reporting and admission: October 11–14, 2026, until 6 PM

What to Do Before Filling Your Choices

Before the choice-filling window opens on October 4, use October 3 to prepare. The revised state merit list and category-wise vacancy matrix will be released on October 3. Download and study this document carefully. It will show you exactly which MBBS and BDS seats are available in each government and private college, broken down by category (General, OBC, SC, ST, etc.).

Cross-reference this vacancy list with your NEET UG rank and category to identify colleges where you have a realistic chance of getting a seat. Make a shortlist of colleges in order of your preference. Consider factors such as college reputation, location, infrastructure, and placement record. Having a clear plan before choice filling begins will help you make informed decisions quickly during the October 4–7 window.

Reporting and Admission After Seat Allotment

Once seat allotment results are announced on October 10, 2026, check the official portal to see if you have been allotted a seat. If you receive an allotment, you must report in person to the assigned college between October 11 and 14, 2026, by 6 PM. Reporting in person is mandatory; you cannot complete admission remotely.

Bring all original documents with you, including your NEET UG admit card, mark sheet, 10th and 12th certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate, and any other documents specified by the college. Failure to report within the deadline will result in forfeiture of your seat, and it will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list.

Why the Mop-Up Round Matters for Your MBBS/BDS Admission

The mop-up round is often the last opportunity for candidates to secure a seat in government or private medical and dental colleges in Madhya Pradesh. If you did not get a seat in Rounds 1 and 2, this is your final chance before the state counselling process concludes. Seats available in the mop-up round are typically those that remained vacant after earlier rounds due to candidates not reporting, withdrawing, or upgrading to other states.

Mop-up seats can include both government and private college positions. Government seats are particularly valuable due to lower fees and higher prestige. Even if the colleges or seats available in the mop-up round are not your first choice, securing any MBBS or BDS seat now is better than missing this round and having to wait for next year or explore options outside Madhya Pradesh.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Do not assume you are automatically registered if you applied in earlier rounds. Check the official portal to confirm your registration status. If you did not apply in Rounds 1 or 2, register today without delay. Missing the October 2 deadline means you cannot participate in the mop-up round at all.

Do not rely on your previous choices from earlier rounds. They will not be carried forward. You must fill new choices during October 4–7. Also, do not skip the in-person reporting step. Even if you are allotted a seat, you must physically report to the college by 6 PM on or before October 14, 2026, with original documents. Failing to report will result in loss of your seat.
