The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published the detailed day-by-day schedule for Round 2 of NEET UG 2026 online counselling. This round covers the 15% All India Quota (AIQ — the pool of seats every state government medical college sets aside for MCC to fill through national counselling), 100% seats in Deemed and Central Universities, AFMC, AIIMS institutions, and JIPMER (Puducherry & Karaikal), for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing courses. This is a schedule announcement, not a result — it tells candidates exactly which dates to register, pay fees, fill and lock choices, and later report for admission. Every date and deadline below is fixed by MCC and stated in server time, so candidates must complete each step well before the cut-off, not on the last day.
Round 2 registration and payment for NEET UG 2026 AIQ/Deemed/Central/AFMC/AIIMS/JIPMER counselling run from 3rd to 8th September 2026, choice locking closes by 10:00 AM on 9th September 2026, results come out on 11th September 2026, and admitted candidates must report to their allotted college between 12th and 18th September 2026.
Who this schedule applies to
This Round 2 schedule is for candidates seeking admission through MCC's central counselling for the following quotas and institutions, for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing courses: the 15% All India Quota (seats in state government medical/dental colleges reserved for candidates from anywhere in India), 100% seats in Deemed and Central Universities, AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College, Pune), AIIMS institutions, and JIPMER at Puducherry and Karaikal.
If you already registered and participated in Round 1 but did not get a seat, or you are eligible and want to try for a seat now, you need to follow this Round 2 timeline. Candidates who already joined a seat in an earlier round through this counselling should check MCC's rules on whether they can still upgrade or must stay allotted, since this notice only gives the schedule and not the upgrade/withdrawal policy.
Full Round 2 schedule (dates and timings)
The table below reproduces the exact dates given in the official notice. All timings are 'as per server time' — the clock on MCC's counselling website, not your phone or laptop clock. Always keep a buffer and do not wait for the last hour.
| Stage | Dates | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Verification of tentative seat matrix by participating institutes | 1st & 2nd September 2026 | 2 days |
| Registration / Payment | 3rd to 8th September 2026 — registration up to 3:00 PM on 8th Sept; payment facility open till 6:00 PM on 8th Sept | 6 days |
| Choice Filling / Locking | 3rd to 9th September 2026 — choice filling available up to 10:00 AM on 9th Sept; choice locking window: 4:00 PM on 8th Sept to 10:00 AM on 9th Sept | 7 days |
| Processing of Seat Allotment | 9th to 10th September 2026 | 2 days |
| Result | 11th September 2026 | 1 day |
| Reporting / Joining at allotted institute | 12th to 18th September 2026 | 7 days |
| Verification of joined candidates' data by institutes | 19th September 2026 | 1 day |
Step 1 — Registration and fee payment (3rd to 8th September 2026)
Candidates who want to participate in Round 2 must register on the MCC counselling portal within this window. Note the two separate cut-off times on the last day, 8th September 2026: registration itself closes at 3:00 PM, but the payment facility stays open a little longer, till 6:00 PM. This means you must complete registration by 3:00 PM even if you plan to pay later the same evening — if you have not registered by then, you cannot pay afterward.
Do not leave registration or payment to the final hour. Server load is heavy near deadlines, and a failed or delayed payment after the window closes will mean you cannot take part in this round at all.
Step 2 — Choice filling and locking (3rd to 9th September 2026)
Choice filling — selecting and ranking the colleges/courses you want, in order of preference — is open from 3rd September and closes at 10:00 AM on 9th September 2026.
Choice locking is the final step where you confirm your ranked list so it cannot be changed further. This locking window opens only from 4:00 PM on 8th September 2026 and closes at 10:00 AM on 9th September 2026. If you do not lock your choices in this window, the system will consider whatever choices you last saved as your final list for allotment — so it is safer to actively lock your preferences rather than rely on this.
- Choice filling opens: 3rd September 2026
- Choice filling closes: 10:00 AM, 9th September 2026
- Choice locking opens: 4:00 PM, 8th September 2026
- Choice locking closes: 10:00 AM, 9th September 2026
Step 3 — Seat allotment processing and result (9th to 11th September 2026)
After choice locking closes, MCC processes the seat allotment over 9th and 10th September 2026. The Round 2 result — that is, the list showing which candidates have been allotted a seat, and in which college and course — will be declared on 11th September 2026.
Candidates should check the result on the official MCC counselling website using their credentials as soon as it is out, since the reporting window begins the very next day.
Step 4 — Reporting and joining at the allotted college (12th to 18th September 2026)
Candidates who are allotted a seat in Round 2 must report to their allotted institute for document verification and admission within this seven-day window: 12th to 18th September 2026. Missing this window generally means losing the allotted seat, so plan travel and document readiness in advance.
The notice does not list the specific documents required for reporting — candidates should refer to MCC's general counselling information bulletin or their allotment letter for the exact document checklist (such as NEET admit card, scorecard, class 10/12 certificates, category/domicile/PwD certificates where applicable, and ID proof), since this schedule notice covers only dates.
Final step — Verification of joined candidates (19th September 2026)
This last stage is for the participating institutes, not candidates: colleges must verify and confirm their joined-candidate data with MCC on 19th September 2026. This closes the Round 2 cycle before the next round (if any) is planned.

It covers the 15% All India Quota seats in state government medical/dental colleges, 100% seats in Deemed and Central Universities, AFMC, AIIMS institutions, and JIPMER (Puducherry and Karaikal), for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing courses.
What is the last date to register for Round 2?
Registration is open from 3rd to 8th September 2026, with registration closing at 3:00 PM on 8th September 2026 (server time). Payment can be completed slightly later, up to 6:00 PM the same day, but only if you have already registered by 3:00 PM.
When does choice locking close, exactly?
Choice locking opens at 4:00 PM on 8th September 2026 and closes at 10:00 AM on 9th September 2026. Choice filling itself also closes at 10:00 AM on 9th September 2026.
When will the Round 2 result be declared?
The result is scheduled for 11th September 2026.
By when must I report to my allotted college if I get a seat?
The reporting/joining window is 12th to 18th September 2026. You must complete document verification and joining at your allotted institute within this period.
What does 'as per server time' mean, and why does it matter?
It means the deadline is governed by the clock on MCC's official counselling website, not the time shown on your own device. Always check the portal's displayed time and do not wait until the last minute, since server delays near deadlines are common.
Is B.Sc Nursing also part of this schedule?
Yes, the official notice lists B.Sc Nursing along with MBBS and BDS as courses covered under this Round 2 schedule. However, this article focuses on the MBBS/BDS process since that is MedAdmit's coverage area; B.Sc Nursing candidates should still follow the same dates given here.
What documents do I need for reporting after allotment?
This particular notice only gives the schedule and does not list documents. Candidates should refer to MCC's counselling information bulletin or their allotment letter for the full document checklist before reporting.
Mark these dates now: registration and payment close on 8th September 2026, choice locking ends by 10:00 AM on 9th September 2026, and the result is out on 11th September 2026. If you are allotted a seat, be ready to travel and report to your college between 12th and 18th September 2026 — this window will not be extended for late arrivals. Keep checking the official MCC counselling website for the exact document checklist and any further instructions before you report.
