Maharashtra's State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the third round of seat allotments for NEET UG candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS programmes. A total of 11,340 candidates have received seat offers—8,811 for MBBS and 2,529 for BDS. If you have received an allotment letter, you must now complete the reporting process at your assigned college by a strict deadline of October 14, 2026. This is a critical step: failure to report and submit required documents on time will result in cancellation of your seat.

All candidates allotted seats in Maharashtra NEET UG Round 3 must report to their assigned college and submit original documents by 5:30 PM on October 14, 2026, or their seat will be cancelled.

What the Round 3 Allotment Means for Your Admission

The allotment result you receive is provisional—it is not yet a confirmed admission. Your seat becomes final only after the college verifies your original documents, confirms your eligibility against the NEET UG 2026 brochure requirements, and you pay the required fees. This verification step is mandatory and happens during the reporting process at the college.

The allotment is based on seats approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI), National Medical Commission (NMC), or the Directorate of Colleges (DC). If you have been allotted a seat, it means a vacancy exists in your chosen programme and college, and you meet the eligibility criteria based on your NEET rank and category.

The deadline to report to your allotted college is October 14, 2026, by 5:30 PM. This is a hard deadline—no extensions are granted. You must physically visit the college, submit your documents, and complete the admission formalities within this window. Additionally, you must fill and submit the 'Status Retention Form' at the college by the same date and time.

Missing this deadline has serious consequences: your seat allotment will be automatically cancelled, and you will not be able to proceed to the next round of counselling or secure admission through this allotment. Plan your travel and document collection well in advance to avoid any last-minute rush.

Complete List of Documents You Must Carry

The college will verify your eligibility by checking original documents against your NEET application and the information you provided during counselling registration. Bring both originals and photocopies of every document listed below. Missing even one document may delay your admission or result in rejection.

  • NEET UG 2026 Admit Card
  • NEET UG 2026 Scorecard or Mark Sheet
  • Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (downloaded from the portal)
  • Copy of your Maharashtra NEET UG Online Application Form
  • Class 10 (SSC) Pass Certificate and Marksheet (proof of date of birth)
  • Class 12 (HSC) Marksheet and Passing Certificate
  • School Leaving Certificate (SLC) or Transfer Certificate (TC)
  • Migration Certificate (if you studied outside Maharashtra)
  • Nationality proof: valid Indian Passport, or School Leaving/Birth Certificate explicitly stating Indian nationality
  • Maharashtra Domicile Certificate (mandatory if you are claiming the 85% state quota seats)
  • Government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, or Passport)
  • Medical Fitness Certificate issued by an authorised medical officer
  • Passport-size photographs (8–12 copies, matching the photo on your NEET application)
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste Validity Certificate (CVC) (if applicable)
  • Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate (if claiming OBC-NCL category)
  • EWS Eligibility Certificate (if claiming Economically Weaker Section category)
  • Special Reservation Certificates (if applicable)
  • Religious or Linguistic Minority Certificate or Affidavit (if applicable)

Why Document Verification Is Non-Negotiable

The college's verification process is not a formality. The admitting institute will cross-check every claim you made in your NEET application and counselling form against your original documents. If there is any discrepancy—such as a mismatch in your date of birth, name spelling, category, domicile status, or educational qualifications—your admission can be rejected even after allotment.

Pay special attention to your domicile certificate if you are claiming a state quota seat. Maharashtra reserves 85% of MBBS and BDS seats for candidates with a valid Maharashtra domicile certificate. If your certificate is invalid, expired, or does not meet the state's criteria, you may lose your seat and be shifted to the all-India quota category, which could affect your final placement.

Fee Payment and Seat Confirmation

After document verification, you must pay the required admission fees at the college within the stipulated time. The fee structure varies by college and category (general, OBC, SC, ST, EWS). Ask the college for the exact fee amount and payment method when you report.

Failure to pay fees within the deadline will result in automatic cancellation of your seat. Once you have paid fees and completed all formalities, your admission is confirmed, and you will receive an admission letter or receipt from the college.

What Happens If You Don't Report by October 14

If you do not report to the college by 5:30 PM on October 14, 2026, your seat allotment will be cancelled automatically. You will not be eligible for any further rounds of counselling based on this allotment. Your seat will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list.

If you have a genuine emergency or are unable to report by the deadline, contact the college and the Maharashtra CET Cell immediately to request an extension. However, extensions are rarely granted, and there is no guarantee. It is always safer to report on time.

Understanding the Provisional Allotment Status

The allotment result you receive is labelled 'provisional' because it is conditional on document verification and fee payment. This does not mean your seat is uncertain—it simply means the college has not yet confirmed your eligibility. Once you report, submit documents, and pay fees, the provisional status becomes a confirmed admission.

Do not delay or assume you can report later. The word 'provisional' does not give you extra time; the October 14 deadline applies to all candidates regardless of allotment status.
