What is CAP Round 2 and why does it matter?

How to fill your choices online

After the seat matrix is published on 7 September, you will log into the official counselling portal (www.mahacet.org) using your NEET UG 2026 credentials. You then fill in your choice/preference form, listing the colleges and courses you wish to be considered for, in order of preference. The system will rank your choices, and the allotment algorithm will match you to the highest-ranked choice for which you are eligible.

You have from 8 September 2026 at 00:00 (midnight) until 10 September 2026 at 11:59 pm to complete and submit your choices. This is a strict deadline—the portal will close at 11:59 pm on 10 September, and no late submissions are accepted. Selection List and how allotment works

On 12 September 2026, the Maharashtra State CET Cell will declare the Selection List (also called the merit list or allotment list). Physical joining: documents, fees, and the joining window

Group A courses only—what this means

What happens if you do not join by 18 September?
