If you registered for Karnataka's state NEET UG counselling for MBBS or BDS seats, the Round 1 final allotment result is now out, and the next few days matter a lot for whether you keep your seat. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) posted the medical and dental Round 1 allotment lists on its portal on August 28, 2026, and immediately opened a short window for allotted candidates to act. Missing the payment or reporting deadline in this window can mean losing the seat you were allotted, so it's worth understanding exactly what KEA expects from you and by when.

Karnataka NEET UG candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 must pay the seat acceptance fee, download their confirmation slip, and physically report to the allotted college by 6 PM on September 4, 2026 — missing this can cost you the seat.

What KEA announced

The Karnataka Examinations Authority released the final seat allotment result for the first round of its 2026 UGNEET counselling for medical (MBBS) and dental (BDS) programmes on August 28, 2026. The result is available on the official counselling portal, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.

Separate downloadable lists were put up for the medical and dental streams, both dated August 28, 2026. Candidates need to log in with their counselling credentials to view their individual allotment status rather than searching a combined merit-style list.

Round 1 schedule at a glance

KEA has laid out a tight sequence of steps after the allotment announcement. Candidates who are allotted a seat need to move through choice confirmation, fee payment, and physical reporting in the order below.

How to pay the fee and get your confirmation slip

The fee payment and confirmation slip download happen on the KEA login portal, keaonline.karnataka.gov.in, not on a separate site. The process is straightforward but time-bound, so candidates shouldn't leave it for the last day.

The confirmation slip is not a formality — colleges will ask for it at the time of physical reporting, alongside other original documents. KEA has indicated that a full list of documents required for admission will be issued separately, so candidates should keep their NEET admit card, scorecard, rank card, category and domicile certificates, and identity proof ready in advance.

  • Visit keaonline.karnataka.gov.in and log in with your registered credentials.
  • Go to the fee payment link on your dashboard.
  • Pay the seat acceptance fee online and review the form carefully before final submission.
  • Download and save the confirmation slip; keep both a digital and printed copy.

Why this window matters more than it looks

For a Karnataka NEET aspirant, Round 1 allotment is the first real test of whether your rank, category, and choices matched with an actual seat. Because the payment and reporting deadlines fall within roughly a week of the allotment, there is very little room to deliberate at length — decisions about accepting the current seat versus waiting for a possible upgrade in a later round need to be made quickly and with a clear head.

This is also the point where families sometimes lose a seat simply due to administrative delay — a missed payment slot or a reporting deadline crossed by a few hours — rather than any academic shortfall. Treating the KEA schedule as a hard deadline, not a guideline, is the safest approach.

What happens after Round 1

Karnataka's counselling, like most state NEET UG processes, does not end with Round 1. Seats that remain vacant, or that are vacated by candidates moving up in later rounds, are typically carried forward into subsequent rounds and, eventually, into mop-up or stray vacancy rounds if seats are still open. KEA has not yet detailed those later rounds as part of this announcement, so candidates who did not get an allotment this time, or who wish to try for a better college in a later round, should keep tracking the official portal for the next schedule.
