JCECEB — Advt. No. 110 dated-23.10.2026 Detailed information regarding Preparation of Merit List for Special Round of online counselling-2026 for admission in All India seats in M.B.B.S. & B.D.S. courOfficial PDF notice published by JCECEB. Always confirm details against the official document.

What is this Special Round and why does it matter?

The Special Round is a fresh counselling cycle opened by Jharkhand to fill vacant All India seats in MBBS and BDS courses that were not filled in the earlier four rounds (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Stray Vacancy). All India seats are seats that any NEET-qualified candidate from any state in India can apply for — they are not reserved for Jharkhand residents only.

Critically, the Board has declared that all merit lists from the previous four rounds are now null and void. This means if you were ranked in an earlier merit list but did not get a seat, or if you did not apply in earlier rounds, you must apply afresh in this Special Round. Your earlier ranking does not carry forward.

This round covers MBBS seats in four colleges — Laxmi Chandravansi Medical College & Hospital (Bishrampur, Palamu), Netaji Subhas Medical College & Hospital (Adityapur, Seraikela-Kharsawan), Sido Kanhu Medical College & Hospital (Dumka), and Birsa Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Khunti — and BDS seats in Vananchal Dental College & Hospital (under Babu Dinesh Singh University, Garhwa).

Important dates: when to apply and when results come out

The entire Special Round process happens in just four days. You must submit your online application by 25 October 2026 at 3:00 PM — this is a hard deadline and no late applications will be accepted. The merit list will be prepared and published on 25 October 2026 itself. On 26 October 2026, the Board will release provisional seat allotment letters, which you can download from the Board's website.

Plan your application carefully: you have from 23 October (today) to 25 October at 3:00 PM — only three days. Do not wait until the last moment, as internet delays or technical issues could prevent your submission.

  • Online application submission: 23 October 2026 to 25 October 2026 (up to 3:00 PM)
  • Merit list publication: 25 October 2026
  • Provisional seat allotment letter download: 26 October 2026

Who is eligible to apply?

To apply for this Special Round, you must meet the age and educational eligibility criteria set by NEET UG 2026. The notice does not repeat these criteria in full — instead, it directs you to refer to Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-52 & 53 dated 08.08.2026, which is available under the 'Important Notice' section on the Board's website (https://jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in).

In brief, you must have passed 12th standard (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and you must have appeared in NEET UG 2026 and scored a valid rank. You must also meet the age requirements specified in the NEET regulations. Since this is a fresh round, all candidates — whether they applied in earlier rounds or not — are eligible to apply, provided they meet these criteria.

Importantly, this round is for All India seats, so there is no state-residency requirement. Any NEET-qualified candidate from any state can apply.

  • Must have passed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
  • Must have appeared in NEET UG 2026 and obtained a valid rank
  • Must meet age eligibility criteria (see Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-52 & 53 on the Board's website)
  • No state-residency requirement for All India seats

Fill in all required information accurately — your NEET roll number, name, date of birth, category, and other details as prompted. Double-check every field before submitting, as errors could lead to rejection or misallocation. Once you submit, you will receive a confirmation. Save this confirmation and note your application reference number.

The application window closes at 3:00 PM on 25 October 2026. After this time, no applications will be accepted, regardless of the reason. Submit well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

  • Visit https://jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in

  • Fill in all details accurately (NEET roll number, name, DOB, category, etc.)
  • Review and submit
  • Save confirmation and note your application reference number
  • Submit before 3:00 PM on 25 October 2026

Documents you need before applying

While the notice does not provide an exhaustive list of documents required at the application stage, you should have the following ready before you begin: your NEET UG 2026 admit card and roll number, your 12th standard mark sheet or certificate, your date of birth proof (birth certificate or school record), and your category certificate if you belong to SC, ST, OBC, or EWS category.

If you have a disability certificate (for PWD category), keep that handy as well. The notice does not specify whether documents must be uploaded at the application stage or later during admission, so check the online form carefully — it will tell you what to upload and in what format (usually PDF, JPG, or PNG).

Ensure all documents are clear, legible, and in the correct format. Blurry or incomplete scans may be rejected during verification.

Merit list and seat allotment: what happens next

On 25 October 2026, the Board will prepare and publish the merit list based on NEET UG 2026 scores. Your rank in this merit list will determine whether you are eligible for a seat and which college/course you are offered. The merit list will be displayed on the Board's website.

On 26 October 2026, the Board will release provisional seat allotment letters. You must download your allotment letter from the Board's website using your application reference number or roll number. This letter will tell you whether you have been allotted a seat, and if so, which college, course (MBBS or BDS), and which campus.

The allotment is provisional — it is not final until you report to the college, submit original documents, and complete the admission process. If you do not report within the specified time, your seat may be cancelled and offered to the next candidate on the merit list.

  • Merit list published: 25 October 2026
  • Provisional allotment letters released: 26 October 2026
  • Download your letter from the Board's website

Why previous merit lists are now void — and what this means for you

The Board has explicitly stated that all merit lists from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Stray Vacancy Rounds are now null and void for this Special Round. This is a critical point: even if you were ranked high in an earlier round but did not get a seat, your earlier ranking does not carry forward. You start fresh.

This rule applies to everyone. If you applied in earlier rounds and were not allotted a seat, you must apply again in this Special Round. If you did not apply in earlier rounds, you can now apply for the first time. The Board is treating this as a completely new counselling cycle with a new merit list based on the same NEET UG 2026 scores.

The reason for this is that the vacant seats available now may be different from those in earlier rounds, and the Board wants to ensure fair allocation based on a fresh merit list prepared from all eligible applicants in this round.

  • All merit lists from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Stray Vacancy Rounds are null and void
  • You must apply afresh — earlier rankings do not carry forward
  • This applies to all candidates, whether they applied before or not
  • A new merit list will be prepared for this Special Round only

Common mistakes that get applications rejected

Submitting after the deadline: The application window closes at 3:00 PM on 25 October 2026. Any submission after this time will be rejected, no matter the reason. Submit at least a few hours before the deadline.

Incorrect or incomplete information: Ensure your NEET roll number, name, date of birth, and category are entered exactly as they appear in your NEET admit card and official documents. Mismatches can lead to rejection or allotment errors.

Wrong category certificate: If you claim SC, ST, OBC, or EWS category, your certificate must be valid and issued by the competent authority. An expired, invalid, or incorrectly issued certificate will be rejected during verification.

Missing or unclear documents: If the form requires you to upload documents, ensure they are clear, legible, and in the correct format. Blurry scans or wrong file types may be rejected.

Not downloading the allotment letter: Even if you are allotted a seat, you must download your provisional allotment letter on 26 October 2026. Failure to do so may result in your seat being cancelled.

  • Submit before 3:00 PM on 25 October 2026 — no late submissions accepted
  • Enter all information exactly as it appears in your NEET admit card
  • Ensure category certificate is valid and issued by competent authority
  • Upload clear, legible documents in the correct format
  • Download your allotment letter on 26 October 2026 to confirm your seat
  • Report to your allotted college within the specified deadline
