JCECEB — Advt. No. 109 Dated-23.10.2026 Important Notice regarding correction in State Merit List/Merit Lists Based on NEET (UG)-2026 Result — ViewOfficial PDF notice published by JCECEB. Always confirm details against the official document.

What is this notice about?

This is a correction notice issued by JCECEB for candidates who appear in the State Merit List/Merit Lists for NEET UG 2026 counselling. The Board published merit lists on 19 October 2026 for admission to MBBS, BDS, and B.H.M.S. courses in Jharkhand state quota and all-India seats. Some candidates have requested the opportunity to correct errors in their personal details and certificate information.

The Board has decided to allow these corrections, but ONLY if they are submitted according to the specific rules laid out in the original advertisement (Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-47 dated 06.08.2026). This means not every correction request will be accepted — only those that follow the Board's procedures will be considered. If you are on the merit list and have errors, this is your chance to fix them before counselling proceeds.

Who needs to resubmit their application?

You must resubmit your application if your name appears in the State Merit List/Merit Lists published on 19 October 2026 AND you have any errors or corrections needed in your personal or certificate details. This applies to all candidates in the merit lists for MBBS, BDS, and B.H.M.S. courses.

The notice specifically mentions that corrections may be needed in: date of birth (DOB), gender, name, and certificate updates (Caste Certificate, Income & Assets Certificate, and I.R.C. of Jharkhand). If none of your details are incorrect, you do not need to resubmit. However, if you are unsure whether your details are correct, it is safer to check your merit list entry and resubmit if needed.

  • Your name must be in the State Merit List/Merit Lists published on 19 October 2026
  • You have errors or corrections needed in DOB, gender, name, or certificate details
  • You are applying for MBBS, BDS, or B.H.M.S. in Jharkhand state quota or all-India seats

Critical dates and deadlines

The resubmission window is extremely tight. You have only 4 days to submit your corrected application. The deadline is 26 October 2026 at 6:00 PM. No applications will be accepted after this date and time, regardless of the reason. The Board has made it clear: 'No request received after the stipulated date & time or without the requisite supporting documents shall be entertained under any circumstances.'

This means if you miss the deadline by even one minute, your correction request will be rejected. If your application is rejected due to a missed deadline, you will not be able to correct your details later, and you may face issues during counselling and seat allotment. Mark this date on your calendar and plan to submit well before 6:00 PM on 26 October.

  • Resubmission window opens: 23 October 2026
  • Resubmission deadline: 26 October 2026 at 6:00 PM
  • No extensions or late submissions will be accepted

What corrections can you submit?

The notice specifies that you can submit corrections for the following details: date of birth (DOB), gender, name, and certificate updates. Certificate updates include your Caste Certificate, Income & Assets Certificate, and I.R.C. (Income & Resource Certificate) of Jharkhand. These are the only corrections the Board will consider during this window.

If you have errors in other details (such as your NEET roll number, marks, or other information), those cannot be corrected through this process. The Board is specifically addressing category and personal particular corrections that affect your eligibility and counselling placement. Make sure the corrections you submit are limited to the categories mentioned above.

  • Date of birth (DOB)
  • Gender
  • Name
  • Caste Certificate
  • Income & Assets Certificate
  • I.R.C. (Income & Resource Certificate) of Jharkhand

Important certificate requirements — what the Board will accept

The Board has set a strict rule about which certificates it will accept: ST/SC/BCI(NCL)/BCII(NCL)/I&A (for EWS) certificates must be issued by an Officer not below the level of Sub-divisional Officer (Civil) of the Jharkhand State. This is a critical requirement. If your caste or income certificate was issued by a lower-ranking officer, it will NOT be accepted, and your application will be rejected.

This is a common trap. Many candidates have caste certificates issued by Tehsildars or other lower-level officers, which do not meet this requirement. Before you resubmit, check the issuing authority on your certificate. If it does not meet the Sub-divisional Officer level requirement, you will need to obtain a fresh certificate from the correct authority. Do not submit a certificate that does not meet this standard — it will result in automatic rejection.

  • Caste certificates (ST/SC/BCI(NCL)/BCII(NCL)) must be issued by a Sub-divisional Officer (Civil) or higher in Jharkhand
  • Income & Assets Certificate (I&A) for EWS must also be issued by a Sub-divisional Officer (Civil) or higher
  • Certificates issued by lower-ranking officers (Tehsildar, etc.) will NOT be accepted
  • Check your certificate issuing authority before resubmitting

How to resubmit your corrected application

You must submit a fresh application (not an amendment or update) through the official JCECEB portal. In your application, clearly mention the required minor correction(s) you are making — for example, if your DOB is wrong, state the correct DOB; if your gender is incorrect, state the correct gender; if your caste certificate needs updating, provide the new certificate details.

You must submit all requisite supporting documents along with your application. This means if you are correcting your caste certificate, you must upload the new caste certificate. If you are correcting your income certificate, you must upload the new income certificate. Do not submit an application without the supporting documents — it will be rejected immediately. The Board has stated: 'No request received after the stipulated date & time or without the requisite supporting documents shall be entertained under any circumstances.'

  • Submit a fresh application (not an amendment) through the JCECEB portal
  • Clearly mention each correction you are making (DOB, gender, name, certificate type, etc.)
  • Upload all supporting documents for each correction
  • Do not submit without documents — automatic rejection
  • Submit by 26 October 2026 at 6:00 PM

Where to submit your application

You must submit your corrected application via email to the Board's official email address: controller.jceceb@gmail.com. This is the only submission method mentioned in the notice. Do not submit through any other channel, portal, or email address — only applications sent to controller.jceceb@gmail.com will be considered.

When you email your application, include all the required documents as attachments. Make sure your email clearly states your name, NEET roll number, and the specific corrections you are requesting. Send your email well before the 6:00 PM deadline on 26 October to ensure it is received on time.

  • Email address: controller.jceceb@gmail.com
  • Subject line: Include your name, NEET roll number, and 'Merit List Correction'
  • Attach all supporting documents as PDFs
  • Send before 6:00 PM on 26 October 2026
  • Keep a copy of your email for your records

What happens if your correction is accepted?

If your corrected application is accepted by the Board, your details in the merit list will be updated. This updated information will be used for counselling and seat allotment. If your correction changes your category (for example, if you correct your caste certificate and move from General to SC category), your position in the merit list may change, and you may be eligible for different seats or quotas.

The Board will not send you a separate confirmation email or letter. You will need to check the updated merit list on the JCECEB website after the correction window closes. If your details have been updated, they will appear in the revised merit list. If your correction was rejected, your original details will remain in the merit list.

  • Accepted corrections will update your merit list entry
  • Updated details will be used for counselling and seat allotment
  • Check the JCECEB website for the revised merit list after 26 October
  • No separate confirmation will be sent — check the website

What happens if your correction is rejected?

If your corrected application is rejected — either because it was submitted after the deadline, did not include required documents, or did not meet the Board's rules — your original details from the 19 October merit list will remain in effect. You will not be able to submit another correction request. Your counselling and seat allotment will proceed based on your original (incorrect) details.

This is why it is critical to submit your correction on time and with all required documents. A rejected correction cannot be appealed or resubmitted. If you believe your original details are incorrect and your correction is rejected, you may face issues during counselling, and you should contact the Board immediately to understand your options.

  • Rejected corrections cannot be resubmitted
  • Your original details will be used for counselling
  • No appeals or extensions are available
  • Contact the Board immediately if your correction is rejected

Common mistakes that will get your application rejected

The most common reason for rejection is submitting an application without all required supporting documents. If you are correcting your caste certificate, you must attach the new certificate. If you are correcting your income certificate, you must attach the new certificate. If you submit an application saying 'I need to correct my caste certificate' but do not attach the new certificate, your application will be rejected immediately.

Another critical mistake is submitting a certificate issued by the wrong authority. As mentioned earlier, caste and income certificates must be issued by a Sub-divisional Officer (Civil) or higher in Jharkhand. If your certificate is issued by a Tehsildar or other lower-ranking officer, it will be rejected. Check your certificate before submitting.

A third common mistake is missing the deadline. The Board has been very clear: no applications will be accepted after 6:00 PM on 26 October 2026. If you submit at 6:01 PM, your application will be rejected. Do not wait until the last minute — submit well before the deadline.

Finally, do not submit an application if you do not have any corrections to make. The Board is only accepting applications from candidates who have errors in their details. If your details are correct, submitting an unnecessary application may cause confusion and could delay the counselling process.

  • Missing supporting documents — automatic rejection
  • Certificate issued by wrong authority (below Sub-divisional Officer level) — automatic rejection
  • Submitted after 6:00 PM on 26 October 2026 — automatic rejection
  • Submitting without any actual corrections needed — unnecessary and may cause issues
  • Submitting through wrong email address or channel — will not be considered

Reference to the original advertisement rules

The Board has stated that only corrections submitted 'in accordance with the provisions of clause 7 mentioned in the advertisement no. JCECEB/46/26-47 dated 06.08.2026' will be considered. This means the rules for corrections are already defined in the original advertisement published on 6 August 2026. If you want to understand the full scope of what corrections are allowed and what documents are required, you should refer to that original advertisement.

The original advertisement is available on the JCECEB website under the 'Important Notice' column. If you have any doubts about whether your correction is allowed or what documents you need to submit, review clause 7 of that advertisement. This will give you the complete picture of the Board's correction policy.

  • Refer to Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-47 dated 06.08.2026, clause 7, for full correction rules
  • Available on JCECEB website under 'Important Notice' column
  • Only corrections following these rules will be accepted

What if I do not have any corrections to make but I want to confirm my details are correct?

Do not submit an application if you do not have corrections to make. The Board is only accepting applications from candidates who have errors in their details. If your details are correct, you do not need to resubmit. Simply wait for counselling to proceed with your current details.

The original advertisement (Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-47 dated 06.08.2026) is available on the JCECEB website under the 'Important Notice' column. Refer to clause 7 of that advertisement for the complete rules on what corrections are allowed and what documents are required.
