The Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU) in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, has released the final seat allotment for NEET UG 2026 Round 1 counselling. If you have received an allotment letter for an MBBS or BDS seat in a Himachal Pradesh government or private college, you now have a critical window to report in person. Missing the September 3 deadline means forfeiting your seat entirely—it will not carry forward to Round 2. This guide walks you through what you need to do and what documents to bring.

Allotted candidates must physically report at their assigned college between September 1 and September 3, 2026, with all original documents and two sets of photocopies, or lose the seat.

What Has Been Released and When

AMRU released the provisional allotment on August 27, 2026, followed by the final allotment on August 28, 2026. The allotment covers both state quota and management quota seats across MBBS and BDS programmes in Himachal Pradesh colleges. Seats were assigned based on your NEET UG 2026 rank and the order in which you ranked your college choices during the choice-filling stage.

How to Download Your Allotment Letter

Your allotment letter is available on the official AMRU portal. Follow these steps to access it:

  • Visit amruhp.ac.in
  • Click the NEET UG 2026 counselling link on the homepage
  • Log in using your NEET UG 2026 roll number and password
  • View and download your Round 1 seat allotment letter from your dashboard
  • Print a copy to carry to the college

Documents You Must Carry When Reporting

Bring all originals along with two self-attested photocopies of each document. The college will verify these during admission.

  • Round 1 seat allotment letter from AMRU
  • NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard
  • Class 10 certificate (for date of birth proof)
  • Class 12 mark sheet and pass certificate
  • Himachal Pradesh domicile or bonafide certificate
  • Category certificate (if applicable—SC, ST, OBC, etc.)
  • Government-issued photo identity (Aadhaar, passport, or driving licence)
  • Recent passport-size photographs matching your NEET application photo

Why the September 3 Deadline Is Non-Negotiable

If you do not report by September 3, 2026, your seat will be cancelled. You will not be able to claim it in Round 2 or any later round. Instead, that seat becomes available for other candidates in the next round of counselling. This is a hard cutoff—extensions are not granted except in extraordinary circumstances with documented proof, and even then, approval is rare. Plan your travel and document collection now to avoid missing this window.

What to Do If There Is an Error in Your Allotment Letter

If you notice any discrepancy in your name, category, allotted college, or course, contact AMRU immediately before travelling to the college. Email counselling.amruhp@gmail.com with details of the error and supporting documents. Verify all information carefully before you leave home—correcting errors after reporting can be time-consuming and may jeopardise your admission.

What Happens After You Report

Once you report at the college with your documents, the college will verify your credentials, check your original documents against photocopies, and confirm your eligibility. You will then be asked to pay the admission fee as per the college's fee structure. After fee payment and document verification, your seat is confirmed and you are officially admitted. The college will provide you with further instructions regarding hostel allotment, course registration, and the start date of your programme.

What to Expect in Round 2

AMRU is expected to release the Round 2 schedule and the matrix of vacant seats soon. If you did not get an allotment in Round 1, or if you are waitlisted, watch the AMRU portal for Round 2 registration dates and the fresh choice-filling window. Candidates who forfeited their Round 1 seat by not reporting will not be eligible to participate in Round 2.
