Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh has released the provisional seat allocation list for the 3rd round of MBBS/BDS counselling for the 2026–27 academic session. This list shows which college and course each candidate has been tentatively allotted based on their NEET UG 2026 rank, category, and quota. The allocation is system-generated and provisional — it is not final and may change. If you find any error in your merit number or allotment details, you must report it immediately to the university. Most importantly, if you are claiming any reserved category or quota benefit (OBC, SC, ST, EWS, defence personnel ward, etc.), your certificates must be valid, updated, and in the exact format specified in the prospectus — any discrepancy will cost you your seat.

Your provisional seat allocation is now live; verify your details and category certificates immediately, report errors by 15 Oct 11 AM, and do not approach your college until you receive the final allotment and download your allotment letter.

What Is This Provisional Seat Allocation?

The provisional seat allocation list released today shows which MBBS or BDS seat has been tentatively assigned to you based on your NEET UG 2026 rank, the category/quota you applied under, and your college preference. The list includes 177 candidates allocated across government medical colleges, government dental colleges, private medical colleges, and private dental colleges in Himachal Pradesh, as well as NRI quota seats.

This allocation is **provisional and indicative only**. It is not your final admission. The university has made it clear that candidates cannot claim any legal right over the allotted seat based on this provisional list, and the allocation cannot be challenged in court. The final allotment will be released after the university completes verification of all documents and eligibility criteria. Until you receive the final allotment and download your official allotment letter from your candidate login, you do not have a confirmed seat.

Important Dates You Must Know

The most critical date is **15 October 2026, 11:00 AM**. This is the deadline to report any discrepancy in your merit number or allotment details. If you notice an error — for example, your name is misspelled, your merit rank is wrong, or you have been allotted a college you did not apply for — you must email the university immediately at **counselling.amruhp@gmail.com** before 11 AM on 15 October. After this deadline, no corrections will be accepted.

The notice does not specify when the final seat allocation will be released or when you must join your college. You will need to monitor the AMRU website (amruhp.ac.in) and your candidate login regularly for updates on the final allotment date and joining instructions.

  • Deadline to report discrepancies: 15 October 2026, 11:00 AM
  • Email for reporting errors: counselling.amruhp@gmail.com
  • Final allotment date: To be announced (check AMRU website regularly)

How to Check Your Provisional Allotment

Your provisional allotment details are in the list released today. You can identify yourself by your application number, name, and NEET UG rank (merit number). The list shows your name, the college allotted to you, the quota you applied under (HP Quota, Management Quota, NRI Quota), the category you applied under (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.), and the quota and category you have been allotted.

Critical Trap: Category and Quota Certificates Must Be Valid and in Prescribed Format

This is the single most important warning in this notice. If you have claimed any reserved category or quota benefit — whether OBC, SC, ST, EWS (Economically Weaker Sections), widow/ward of ex-serviceman, defence personnel ward, single girl child, backward area, or physically handicapped — your supporting certificates **must be valid, updated, and in the exact format specified in the AMRU prospectus**.

The university has stated explicitly: **'In case of any discrepancy, outdated/invalid certificate, or non-submission of the prescribed document, the candidate shall not be entitled to claim the benefit of the respective category/quota.'** This means if your certificate is even slightly wrong — wrong date, wrong format, expired, or missing required information — you will **lose your seat allocation** and be treated as a general category candidate. Your provisional allotment will be cancelled, and you will not be admitted.

You must act now. Before the final allotment is released, obtain fresh certificates from the issuing authority if yours are outdated or in the wrong format. Check the AMRU prospectus carefully to see exactly what format and information each certificate must contain. If you are unsure, contact AMRU immediately at coemedicaluniv.mandi@gmail.com or 01905-243967.

  • ⚠️ All category/quota certificates must be valid and in the prescribed format
  • ⚠️ Outdated, invalid, or incorrectly formatted certificates will result in loss of category benefit and seat cancellation
  • ⚠️ Get fresh certificates NOW if yours are outdated or wrong format
  • ⚠️ Check the AMRU prospectus for exact certificate requirements
  • ✅ Contact AMRU if you are unsure about certificate format: coemedicaluniv.mandi@gmail.com or 01905-243967

Colleges and Seats in This Round

The 3rd round allocation includes seats across multiple government and private medical and dental colleges in Himachal Pradesh. Government colleges include Indira Gandhi Medical College Shimla, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College Nerchowk Mandi, Dr Radhakrishanan Government Medical College Hamirpur, Dr Yashwant Parmar Government Medical College Nahan Sirmour, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College Chamba, and H.P. Government Dental College Shimla. Private colleges include Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College Kumarhatti, Bhojia Dental College Nalagarh, Himachal Dental College Sunder Nagar, and Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences Paonta Sahib.

Seats are allocated under three main quotas: **HP Quota** (for Himachal Pradesh domicile candidates), **Management Quota** (private college seats filled by the institution), and **NRI Quota** (for Non-Resident Indian candidates). Within each quota, candidates are further categorized as General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, defence personnel ward, widow/ward of ex-serviceman, single girl child, backward area, or physically handicapped. The allocation list shows both the quota and category you applied under and the quota and category you have been allotted.

  • Government medical colleges: Shimla, Mandi, Hamirpur, Sirmour, Chamba
  • Government dental colleges: Shimla
  • Private medical colleges: Maharishi Markandeshwar (Kumarhatti)
  • Private dental colleges: Bhojia (Nalagarh), Himachal (Sunder Nagar), Himachal Institute (Paonta Sahib)

What Happens If Your Category Claim Is Rejected During Verification

Even if you are allotted a seat in this provisional list under a reserved category, your final admission is subject to verification and approval by the Admission Committee of your allotted college. During the verification process, the college will check your category certificates. If the committee finds that your certificate is invalid, outdated, or does not meet the prescribed format, your category claim will be rejected.

If your category claim is rejected, you will be treated as a general category candidate. This may mean you lose your seat entirely if there are no general category seats available at your college, or you may be offered a different seat (if any) in the general category. Your provisional allotment will not protect you — the notice makes clear that provisional allotment does not confer any right of admission.

Frequently asked questions

Is this provisional allotment my final seat?

No. This is a provisional and indicative allocation only. You cannot claim any legal right over the allotted seat based on this list. Your final admission is subject to verification of your documents and eligibility by the college's Admission Committee. The final allotment will be released later. Do not approach your college until you receive the final allotment and download your official allotment letter.

What should I do if I find an error in my allotment?

Email counselling.amruhp@gmail.com immediately with your application number, name, merit number, and a clear description of the error. The deadline is 15 October 2026 at 11:00 AM. After this time, no corrections will be accepted. Be specific about what is wrong and include your contact details.

I claimed OBC/SC/ST/EWS category. What happens if my certificate is outdated or in the wrong format?

You will lose your category benefit and your seat allocation will be cancelled. The university has stated clearly that any discrepancy, outdated certificate, or incorrectly formatted document will result in loss of category benefit. You must ensure your certificates are valid and in the exact format specified in the AMRU prospectus. Get fresh certificates now if yours are outdated or wrong format.

When will the final allotment be released?

The notice does not specify the final allotment date. You must monitor the AMRU website (amruhp.ac.in) and your candidate login regularly for updates. The university will announce the final allotment date separately.

Can I approach my allotted college now?

No. The notice explicitly states that you should approach your college only after the final allotment is released and after downloading your final allotment letter from your candidate login. Colleges will not admit you without AMRU's final seat allocation. Approaching your college now will be a waste of time.

What documents do I need to bring when I join my college?

The notice does not specify the exact documents required at the time of joining. However, you will definitely need your final allotment letter from AMRU and all category/quota certificates (if applicable). Check the AMRU prospectus and your college's joining instructions for the complete list of documents required. Contact your college directly if you are unsure.

I am an NRI candidate. What is different for me?

NRI quota seats are allocated separately. If you have been allotted an NRI quota seat, the same rules apply — your allotment is provisional, you must verify all details, and you must wait for the final allotment before joining. The process is the same as for other candidates.

What if I was allotted a Management Quota seat?

Management quota seats are filled by private colleges. Your provisional allotment is still subject to verification and final confirmation. You must still wait for the final allotment and download your final allotment letter before approaching your college. The same rules about category certificate verification apply.

Can I challenge this provisional allotment in court?

No. The notice explicitly states that the provisional allocation cannot be challenged before a court of law. You cannot claim any legal right over the allotted seat based on this provisional list. Your only recourse is to report errors to the university by 15 October 11 AM.

What happens if my category claim is rejected during verification?

If the college's Admission Committee finds that your category certificate is invalid or incorrectly formatted, your category claim will be rejected. You will be treated as a general category candidate. You may lose your seat entirely if there are no general category seats available, or you may be offered a different seat in the general category. Your provisional allotment will not protect you.

How do I download my allotment letter?

Log in to your candidate account on the AMRU counselling portal using your application number and password. Your provisional allotment letter should be available for download. Save it and keep it safe. When the final allotment is released, you will download your final allotment letter from the same login.

What if I don't see my name in the provisional allocation list?

If your name is not in the list, it means you have not been allotted a seat in this round. This could be because your rank is below the cutoff for your category and quota, or because you did not meet the eligibility criteria. Check the AMRU website for information on further rounds or counselling options. Contact AMRU at coemedicaluniv.mandi@gmail.com or 01905-243967 for clarification.

Your provisional seat allocation is now live. Check your allotment immediately, verify all details, and ensure your category certificates are valid and in the prescribed format. If you find any error, report it to counselling.amruhp@gmail.com by 15 October 2026 at 11:00 AM — this is a hard deadline. Do not approach your college until the final allotment is released and you have downloaded your final allotment letter. Monitor the AMRU website (amruhp.ac.in) and your candidate login regularly for updates on the final allotment date and joining instructions.
