Haryana NEET UG 2026 MBBS/BDS Counselling Round 1: Dates, Documents & Process

Haryana's MBBS and BDS counselling for the 2026–27 academic session has officially opened. This is Round 1 of the state's seat allocation process, run by Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR) Rohtak on behalf of the Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Haryana. The notice sets out the complete timeline from online registration (28 August) through document verification (6–8 September) to final joining (by 9 September). What is this counselling round and who needs to apply?

This is Round 1 of Haryana's NEET UG 2026 counselling for MBBS and BDS courses. It covers all government medical and dental colleges in Haryana, all government-aided institutions, and private colleges including those run by SGT University (Budhera, Gurugram), Maharishi Markandeshwar University (Sadhopur, Ambala), Al-Falah University (a minority private university), and Sanskaram School of Medical Sciences (Jhajjar). If you have qualified NEET UG 2026 and are eligible under Haryana's merit and category rules, you can apply in this round.

This is the first round of seat allocation. If you do not get a seat now, or if you do not join, you may be eligible for Round 2 (dates to be announced separately). However, missing deadlines in Round 1 will disqualify you from this round, so treat every date as final.

Complete timeline: every date you must know

The counselling process has nine key steps, each with a fixed date. Below is the exact schedule. Note that all times are in Indian Standard Time (IST). If a deadline says 'till 11:59 PM', you can submit up to one second before midnight. If it says 'Upto 8:00 PM' or '4:00 PM', submissions close at that exact time—not later.

How to register and submit your college choices

Registration and choice submission happen on the same portal at the same time: https://uhsrugcounselling.com. You have from 28 August to 31 August 2026, 11:59 PM to complete both. Do not wait until the last day—the portal may be slow, and you will have no extension if you miss the deadline.

When you register, you will enter your NEET roll number, date of birth, and other personal details. You will then be shown a list of available colleges and courses (MBBS or BDS) based on your NEET rank, category, and state eligibility. You must select your preferred colleges in order of preference—the system will allocate you a seat based on your rank and the choices you have locked. Once you lock your choices, you cannot change them, so think carefully before locking. If you need to edit your information (for example, to correct a spelling error in your name), you can do so until 31 August 11:59 PM, but only before you lock your choices.

After you lock your choices, the system will show you a confirmation. Take a screenshot or print it for your records. You will need this confirmation number when you pay the fee and attend document verification.

Provisional allocation and grievance redressal

On 2 September 2026, the system will announce a provisional allocation of seats based on your NEET rank, category, and the choices you submitted. This is not your final seat—it is provisional. You will be able to see which college and course you have been tentatively allocated.

If you believe there is an error in the provisional allocation (for example, if you were not allocated a seat despite being eligible, or if you were allocated a seat in a college you did not choose), you can file a grievance on 2 September 2026. The notice does not specify a time window for grievance filing, so check the portal on 2 September for instructions. After all grievances are reviewed and resolved, the final allocation list will be released on the same day (2 September). This final list is binding—you cannot appeal against it further.

If you do not file a grievance on 2 September, you are deemed to have accepted the provisional allocation as final.

Paying the provisional tuition fee

After the final allocation is released on 2 September, you must pay a provisional tuition fee online through the admission portal (https://uhsrugcounselling.com) between 2 September and 5 September 2026, by 8:00 PM. This fee is mandatory—if you do not pay it, you will not be allowed to attend document verification, and your seat will be cancelled.

The notice does not specify the amount of the provisional fee. This information will be displayed on the portal when you log in. Document verification: what you must bring and where to go

Document verification is the most critical step. You must appear in person at Sushruta Auditorium, Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, between 6 September and 8 September 2026. The notice states: 'The personal appearance of the candidates along with all original documents before the Admission committee at Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak is mandatory failing which his/her candidature will not be considered.' Downloading your admission letter and joining your college

After your documents are verified successfully, you can download your provisional admission letter from the portal between 6 September and 9 September 2026. This letter confirms your admission to the college and course you were allocated. Print it and keep it safe—you will need it when you join the college.

You must join your allotted college by 9 September 2026, 4:00 PM. 'Joining' means physically reporting to the college with your admission letter and any other documents the college asks for. If you do not join by this deadline, your seat will be cancelled, and you will not be eligible for further rounds of counselling in this session. There are no extensions—the deadline is absolute.

Important trap: colleges covered and eligibility

This counselling covers MBBS and BDS seats in the following institutions in Haryana: (1) all government medical and dental colleges; (2) all government-aided medical and dental colleges; (3) private medical and dental colleges; (4) SGT University, Budhera, Gurugram; (5) Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Sadhopur, Ambala; (6) Al-Falah University (a minority private university); and (7) Sanskaram School of Medical Sciences, Jhajjar (under Sanskaram University).

Important trap: amendments and updates

The notice states: 'Any amendments by the State Government/Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/NMC/MCC/NDC/DCI shall be applicable.' This means the schedule, fees, documents, or eligibility rules can change at any time if the central government (Ministry of Health), the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the National Dental Commission (NDC), or the Dental Council of India (DCI) issues new instructions.
