Haryana's MBBS and BDS counselling for the 2026–27 academic session has officially opened. This is Round 1 of the state's seat allocation process, run by Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR) Rohtak on behalf of the Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Haryana. The notice sets out the complete timeline from online registration (28 August) through document verification (6–8 September) to final joining (by 9 September). If you have qualified NEET UG 2026 and are eligible for a seat in Haryana's government, government-aided, or private medical and dental colleges—including those under SGT University, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Al-Falah University, and Sanskaram University—you must follow this schedule precisely. Missing any deadline will cost you your seat.

Register online by 31 August 11:59 PM, submit your college choices by the same deadline, pay the provisional fee by 5 September 8:00 PM, attend document verification 6–8 September in person at Rohtak, and join your allotted college by 9 September 4:00 PM—or lose your seat.

What is this counselling round and who needs to apply?

This is Round 1 of Haryana's NEET UG 2026 counselling for MBBS and BDS courses. It covers all government medical and dental colleges in Haryana, all government-aided institutions, and private colleges including those run by SGT University (Budhera, Gurugram), Maharishi Markandeshwar University (Sadhopur, Ambala), Al-Falah University (a minority private university), and Sanskaram School of Medical Sciences (Jhajjar). If you have qualified NEET UG 2026 and are eligible under Haryana's merit and category rules, you can apply in this round.

This is the first round of seat allocation. If you do not get a seat now, or if you do not join, you may be eligible for Round 2 (dates to be announced separately). However, missing deadlines in Round 1 will disqualify you from this round, so treat every date as final.

Complete timeline: every date you must know

The counselling process has nine key steps, each with a fixed date. Below is the exact schedule. Note that all times are in Indian Standard Time (IST). If a deadline says 'till 11:59 PM', you can submit up to one second before midnight. If it says 'Upto 8:00 PM' or '4:00 PM', submissions close at that exact time—not later.

Haryana MBBS/BDS Counselling Round 1 – Complete Schedule

How to register and submit your college choices

Registration and choice submission happen on the same portal at the same time: https://uhsrugcounselling.com. You have from 28 August to 31 August 2026, 11:59 PM to complete both. Do not wait until the last day—the portal may be slow, and you will have no extension if you miss the deadline.

When you register, you will enter your NEET roll number, date of birth, and other personal details. You will then be shown a list of available colleges and courses (MBBS or BDS) based on your NEET rank, category, and state eligibility. You must select your preferred colleges in order of preference—the system will allocate you a seat based on your rank and the choices you have locked. Once you lock your choices, you cannot change them, so think carefully before locking. If you need to edit your information (for example, to correct a spelling error in your name), you can do so until 31 August 11:59 PM, but only before you lock your choices.

After you lock your choices, the system will show you a confirmation. Take a screenshot or print it for your records. You will need this confirmation number when you pay the fee and attend document verification.

  • Portal: https://uhsrugcounselling.com
  • Registration and choice submission: 28 August to 31 August 2026 (till 11:59 PM)
  • You can edit your information until you lock your choices
  • Once you lock your choices, they cannot be changed
  • Keep your confirmation number safe

Provisional allocation and grievance redressal

On 2 September 2026, the system will announce a provisional allocation of seats based on your NEET rank, category, and the choices you submitted. This is not your final seat—it is provisional. You will be able to see which college and course you have been tentatively allocated.

If you believe there is an error in the provisional allocation (for example, if you were not allocated a seat despite being eligible, or if you were allocated a seat in a college you did not choose), you can file a grievance on 2 September 2026. The notice does not specify a time window for grievance filing, so check the portal on 2 September for instructions. After all grievances are reviewed and resolved, the final allocation list will be released on the same day (2 September). This final list is binding—you cannot appeal against it further.

If you do not file a grievance on 2 September, you are deemed to have accepted the provisional allocation as final.

  • Provisional allocation released: 2 September 2026
  • Grievances must be filed on 2 September 2026 (check portal for exact time window)
  • Final allocation released after grievance redressal: 2 September 2026
  • No further appeals after the final allocation is released

Paying the provisional tuition fee

After the final allocation is released on 2 September, you must pay a provisional tuition fee online through the admission portal (https://uhsrugcounselling.com) between 2 September and 5 September 2026, by 8:00 PM. This fee is mandatory—if you do not pay it, you will not be allowed to attend document verification, and your seat will be cancelled.

The notice does not specify the amount of the provisional fee. This information will be displayed on the portal when you log in. The fee must be paid online only through the admission portal—do not send money by any other method (bank transfer, cheque, cash, etc.). Keep your payment receipt and confirmation number.

This is a provisional fee, meaning it is an advance payment. The final fee structure will be determined after you join the college. If you do not join, or if you are rejected during document verification, the fee may be refunded according to the college's policy—check with your allotted college for details.

  • Payment window: 2 September to 5 September 2026 (Upto 8:00 PM)
  • Payment method: Online only, through the admission portal
  • Non-payment will result in cancellation of your seat
  • Keep your payment receipt and confirmation number
  • This is a provisional fee; final fee structure will be determined after joining

Document verification: what you must bring and where to go

Document verification is the most critical step. You must appear in person at Sushruta Auditorium, Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, between 6 September and 8 September 2026. The notice states: 'The personal appearance of the candidates along with all original documents before the Admission committee at Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak is mandatory failing which his/her candidature will not be considered.' This means if you do not show up, or if you show up without original documents, your seat will be cancelled immediately. There are no exceptions.

You must bring all original documents. The notice says 'Detailed category wise schedule of documents verification will be uploaded separately on admission portal & University website.' This means the exact list of documents required will depend on your category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.). You must check the portal and the university website (www.uhsr.ac.in) by 6 September to see the category-wise document list for your category. Do not assume—download the list and prepare accordingly.

The notice does not provide the document list in this public notice, so you must visit the portal and website to find it. Common documents for medical counselling typically include: NEET admit card, NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), income certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate, medical fitness certificate, character certificate, and passport-size photographs. However, the exact list for Haryana may differ, so check the official list before you go.

Arrive early on your assigned date. The notice does not specify individual appointment times, so check the portal for your category's schedule. Bring all documents in a folder, organized in the order specified by the university. If any document is missing or not in the correct format, you will be rejected on the spot.

  • Venue: Sushruta Auditorium, Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak
  • Dates: 6 September to 8 September 2026
  • Personal appearance is mandatory—no exceptions
  • Bring all original documents (category-wise list will be uploaded on the portal)
  • Check www.uhsr.ac.in and https://uhsrugcounselling.com for the category-wise document list by 6 September
  • Arrive early; bring documents organized in the order specified
  • Missing or incorrectly formatted documents will result in immediate rejection

Downloading your admission letter and joining your college

After your documents are verified successfully, you can download your provisional admission letter from the portal between 6 September and 9 September 2026. This letter confirms your admission to the college and course you were allocated. Print it and keep it safe—you will need it when you join the college.

You must join your allotted college by 9 September 2026, 4:00 PM. 'Joining' means physically reporting to the college with your admission letter and any other documents the college asks for. If you do not join by this deadline, your seat will be cancelled, and you will not be eligible for further rounds of counselling in this session. There are no extensions—the deadline is absolute.

  • Download your admission letter: 6 September to 9 September 2026
  • Last date to join your allotted college: 9 September 2026 (Upto 4:00 PM)
  • Non-joining will result in cancellation of your seat
  • No extensions or exceptions

Important trap: colleges covered and eligibility

This counselling covers MBBS and BDS seats in the following institutions in Haryana: (1) all government medical and dental colleges; (2) all government-aided medical and dental colleges; (3) private medical and dental colleges; (4) SGT University, Budhera, Gurugram; (5) Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Sadhopur, Ambala; (6) Al-Falah University (a minority private university); and (7) Sanskaram School of Medical Sciences, Jhajjar (under Sanskaram University).

To be eligible, you must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and meet Haryana's domicile and category requirements. The notice does not detail these eligibility criteria, so you must check the Haryana DMER website (www.dmerharyana.gov.in) or the counselling portal for the full eligibility rules. If you are unsure whether you are eligible, contact the DMER office before registering.

  • Covers government, government-aided, and private MBBS/BDS colleges in Haryana
  • Includes private universities: SGT, Maharishi Markandeshwar, Al-Falah, Sanskaram
  • You must have qualified NEET UG 2026
  • You must meet Haryana's domicile and category requirements
  • Check www.dmerharyana.gov.in for full eligibility criteria

Important trap: amendments and updates

The notice states: 'Any amendments by the State Government/Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/NMC/MCC/NDC/DCI shall be applicable.' This means the schedule, fees, documents, or eligibility rules can change at any time if the central government (Ministry of Health), the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the National Dental Commission (NDC), or the Dental Council of India (DCI) issues new instructions. Similarly, the Haryana state government can change the rules.

The notice also says: 'Public Notices & Amendments (If any) will be notified on admission web portal.' This means you must check the portal (https://uhsrugcounselling.com) regularly—at least once every two days—for any updates or changes. Do not assume the schedule or rules will stay the same. If you miss an amendment and miss a deadline as a result, you will not be given a second chance.

  • Rules can change at any time due to central or state government orders
  • Check the portal (https://uhsrugcounselling.com) regularly for amendments
  • Check the university website (www.uhsr.ac.in) and DMER website (www.dmerharyana.gov.in) for updates
  • Missing an amendment is not an excuse for missing a deadline

Important trap: category-wise document verification schedule

The notice says: 'Detailed category wise schedule of documents verification will be uploaded separately on admission portal & University website.' This means different categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.) will have different dates and times for document verification within the 6–8 September window. You must check the portal and website by 6 September to find out your category's exact date and time. If you show up on the wrong date, you may not be allowed to verify your documents.

Do not assume all candidates verify on all three days. Your category may be assigned to only one day. Check the portal as soon as it is updated, and mark your calendar.

  • Document verification dates are category-wise (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.)
  • Your category's exact date and time will be uploaded on the portal and university website
  • Check by 6 September to find your assigned date
  • Showing up on the wrong date may result in rejection

You must check all three regularly, especially before each deadline. Do not rely on social media, WhatsApp groups, or unofficial sources—they often contain incorrect information.

The provisional allocation will be announced on 2 September 2026. You can check the portal to see which college and course you have been allocated. If you believe there is an error (for example, you were not allocated a seat despite being eligible, or you were allocated a college you did not choose), you must file a grievance on 2 September 2026. The exact time window for grievance filing will be shown on the portal. After grievances are resolved, the final allocation list will be released on the same day (2 September). This final list is binding—you cannot appeal further.

What is the provisional tuition fee, and when must I pay it?

The notice does not specify the amount of the provisional fee. The fee amount will be displayed on the portal when you log in after the final allocation is released. You must pay this fee online through the admission portal between 2 September and 5 September 2026 by 8:00 PM. If you do not pay the fee, you will not be allowed to attend document verification, and your seat will be cancelled. Payment must be made online only—no other payment method is accepted.

What documents do I need to bring for document verification, and where do I go?

You must bring all original documents to Sushruta Auditorium, Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, between 6 September and 8 September 2026. The exact list of documents required depends on your category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.). This category-wise document list will be uploaded on the portal and the university website (www.uhsr.ac.in) by 6 September. You must check the list for your category before you go. Different categories will have different dates and times for document verification within the 6–8 September window. The exact schedule for each category will be uploaded on the portal and the university website by 6 September. You must check the portal to find your category's assigned date and time. Do not assume all candidates verify on all three days—your category may be assigned to only one specific day. If you show up on the wrong date, you may not be allowed to verify your documents.

What happens after document verification, and when must I join my college?

After your documents are verified successfully, you can download your provisional admission letter from the portal between 6 September and 9 September 2026. You must then join your allotted college by 9 September 2026 at 4:00 PM. 'Joining' means physically reporting to the college with your admission letter. Can the schedule or rules change after this notice is released?

Yes. The notice states that any amendments by the central government (Ministry of Health, NMC, MCC, NDC, DCI) or the Haryana state government will be applicable. All amendments will be notified on the admission portal (https://uhsrugcounselling.com). You must check the portal regularly—at least once every two days—for any updates. Missing an amendment is not an excuse for missing a deadline.

Which colleges are covered in this counselling, and am I eligible?

To be eligible, you must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and meet Haryana's domicile and category requirements. Check www.dmerharyana.gov.in for the full eligibility criteria.
