What exactly was published on 31 August 2026
CENTAC has put up the Updated Revised Draft Merit List for NEET-based courses on its website, www.centacpuducherry.in. This list applies to MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BVSc&AH (National Self-Supporting and NRI categories) seats under four quota types: Government Quota, Management Quota, Management (Telugu Minority) Quota and NRI Quota.
Along with the main list, CENTAC has also published special category lists for Union Territory of Puducherry candidates who qualify under: Meritorious Sports Person, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), Freedom Fighter, Ex-Servicemen, and Government School Students. If you belong to any of these categories, check the relevant list separately on the website.
Whose applications have already been rejected
CENTAC has stated clearly that applications of candidates who opted for Government Quota in the Union Territory of Puducherry AND in another state at the same time — by claiming dual nativity — have been rejected outright. Government Quota seats are reserved for a single home state/UT's residents, and claiming residency in two places simultaneously is not permitted.
If your application shows this rejection, it means CENTAC found you had claimed nativity/domicile in Puducherry as well as another state for Government Quota purposes. There is no provision in this notice to reverse this specific rejection — candidates in this situation should stop claiming dual nativity and check if they are eligible under any other quota (Management, NRI, etc.).
The one-day window to fix your application — 1 September 2026, 11:00 AM
This is the most time-critical part of the notice. CENTAC has given candidates until 1 September 2026, 11:00 AM to take two kinds of corrective action, and after this cut-off no further changes will be entertained for this round of the draft list.
First, every candidate should log in to their dashboard and check their 'verification status' — this tells you whether your submitted documents have been accepted, rejected, or flagged for a query. If anything is wrong or a certificate is missing, you must use the OBJECTIONS link on the dashboard to raise the issue or upload the correct certificate.
Second, if your claim (for a reservation category, domicile, or any benefit) was rejected specifically because you did not submit a recently renewed Revenue Certificate, you must upload a proper, currently valid Revenue Certificate before the same deadline. An expired or outdated Revenue Certificate will not be accepted — this is a common and avoidable reason for rejection.

Seat matrix released — update your course preferences now
CENTAC has also published the Seat Matrix for UG NEET-based courses on its website. This shows how many seats are available in each college, course and quota. Candidates should review this seat matrix and update their course preferences on the dashboard if needed, ahead of Round 1 seat allotment.
This is a critical action point: CENTAC has explicitly warned that candidates whose course preference list is empty will NOT be considered for allotment at all. Simply having applied and being on the merit list is not enough — you must actively fill in and save your ranked list of course/college preferences.

Rules that can cancel your candidature — read carefully
CENTAC has laid down strict consequences for certain lapses, and these apply to every candidate in the counselling process, not just those with pending objections.
- Duplicate applications: If a candidate has submitted two applications, BOTH are rejected and the candidate's candidature is cancelled entirely — not just one of the duplicates.
- False information: Any false information given in the application leads to rejection of the application, or cancellation of admission if discovered later.
- Physical verification: Final admission is subject to physical verification of original documents at the time of reporting. This means the draft/online approval is not final.
- Forged documents: If a candidate is found submitting forged documents, their candidature will be cancelled and legal action will be initiated against them.
