The Stray Vacancy Round is the concluding phase of UGMAC counselling in Bihar. It exists to fill seats that remain empty after all previous counselling rounds. Once this round concludes, any remaining unfilled seats are forfeited for the academic year, meaning no further admissions occur.
For many NEET UG aspirants, the Stray Round is the final entry point to an MBBS or BDS programme in Bihar. If you did not secure a seat in earlier rounds but still wish to pursue medicine or dentistry in the state, this round is critical. Missing this window means waiting until the next admission cycle.

What happens after the rank card is released?
The release of the rank card marks the penultimate step in the Stray Round process. The next stage is the provisional seat allotment result, which BCECEB is expected to announce within the next few days on its official portal. Once seats are allotted, a reporting schedule will be issued, specifying the dates and deadlines for candidates to report to their allotted colleges.
It is essential to monitor the BCECEB website regularly for these announcements. Missing the reporting deadline will result in forfeiture of your allotted seat. Prepare your original documents, category certificates, and admission fee in advance so you can report promptly.
