Important dates: when to register, fill choices, and attend verification
The counselling runs in two rounds. Round-1 registration and choice filling happen together; Round-2 is for candidates who exit Round-1 or were not allotted a seat. All dates are strict; missing a deadline means you lose that opportunity.
For Round-1: the seat matrix (list of available seats at each college) is posted 21 October. Registration and choice filling open 22 October and close 28 October at 11:59 pm. You must pay the counselling fee and security deposit by the same deadline. The rank card is published 30 October. You must lock your choices by 31 October at 11:59 pm. Provisional seat allotment results are published 4 November; you download your allotment order between 4–9 November and attend document verification at your allotted college 6–9 November.
For Round-2: candidates who took a seat in Round-1 but wish to exit can do so 17–18 November (free exit, no security deposit forfeited). New choice filling for Round-2 is 19 November, with locking by 21 November. Round-2 allotment is published 25 November; download your order 25–30 November and verify documents 27–30 November.

Official round-wise closing ranks with fee and stipend, matched to your rank.
Registration and choice filling happen online at bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. The process has seven steps. First, you authenticate your identity using your NEET (PG)-2026 Roll Number, name, and date of birth. An OTP is sent to your registered mobile number and email (from your NEET application). You create a password and receive a PGMAC ID, which you use for all future steps.
Second, you log in and fill your personal information (name, address, category, etc.). Third, you enter your contact details (permanent and correspondence address). Fourth, you provide educational information (MBBS college, passing year, etc.). Fifth, you enter other details, including whether you claim remote-area service weightage or NRI quota (if applicable), and upload supporting certificates.
Sixth, you upload a scanned colour photograph and signature (same as used for your NEET admit card) and any required documents. Seventh, you review all entries on a preview page. If there are errors, click 'Back to Edit' to correct them. Once satisfied, click 'Final Submit & Proceed to Payment' and pay the counselling fee and security deposit. After payment, you proceed to choice filling.
For choice filling, you select your preferred courses and colleges in order of preference. You can save your choices and edit them until the deadline. You must lock your choices by clicking 'Choice Locking' before the deadline (31 October for Round-1, 11:59 pm). Once locked, you can download and print your choice slip. If you do not lock by the deadline, your choices are automatically locked at 11:59 pm.

Reservation policy: categories and seat distribution
Bihar reserves seats for candidates from scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST), extremely backward castes (EBC), backward castes (BC), economically weaker sections (EWS), and persons with disabilities (DQ). The reservation percentages are: SC 16%, ST 1%, EBC 18%, BC 12%, EWS 10%, and Reserved Category Girls (RCG) 3%. The remaining 40% are unreserved (UR) seats. Disabled Quota (DQ) is 5% of total seats at each institution.
To claim a reserved category seat, you must submit a Caste Certificate issued by the CO or Revenue Officer of your permanent residence district in Bihar. The certificate must state that you are a permanent resident of Bihar and must be based on your father's caste (not your spouse's). Certificates from other authorities or based on spouse's caste are rejected. Your name spelling in your NEET application must match your certificates exactly.
Women candidates domiciled in Bihar are entitled to one-third of total seats (horizontal reservation). If no eligible women candidate is available, vacant women's seats are filled by male candidates from the relevant category. Non-residents of Bihar are not eligible for reserved category seats; they can compete only for unreserved (UR) seats. Candidates of reserved categories competing in the general merit list will not be counted against reserved seats; if they are selected, the reserved seat is compensated from the general merit list.

Special quotas: remote-area service, NRI, and disabled candidates
Medical officers employed by the Bihar Government in remote or difficult areas are eligible for special benefits. If you have served for at least three years in a remote/difficult area notified by the Bihar Health Department, you can claim 50% of PG Diploma seats reserved for this purpose. You must upload a certificate from the Civil Surgeon of your district, countersigned by the District Magistrate, stating your service period and location. If you are allotted a remote-area seat, you must undertake to serve for a further two years in a remote/difficult area after completing your PG Diploma.
Additionally, medical officers in remote/difficult areas can claim incentive marks (up to 30% weightage) for admission to PG Degree courses. This weightage is added to your NEET (PG)-2026 score but does not automatically elevate you to a higher category; you remain in your basic qualified category. You must mention this claim in your online application; otherwise, it will not be considered.
NRI candidates (Non-Resident Indians) can claim NRI quota seats if they meet the eligibility criteria. You must select 'NRI' during registration and submit documents proving NRI status: valid passport, NRI certificate from the Indian Embassy/Consulate, notarised affidavit from the NRI sponsor stating they will fund your entire course, and proof of relationship (verified by a revenue officer). All documents must be in English or accompanied by certified English translations. NRI documents are verified before the rank card is published.
Candidates with benchmark disabilities (40% or more) can claim 5% Disabled Quota (DQ) seats. You must upload a Disability Certificate issued by a designated medical college/institution listed in the prospectus, along with your UDID Card and an affidavit. The certificate must be in the prescribed format. If your disability certificate is found to be false, legal action will be taken. You can opt for any course for which your disability is within acceptable limits and not restrictive.
Every kind of PG seat, one rank
See the real seats your NEET-PG rank can reach.
- Remote-area service: 50% of PG Diploma seats reserved; requires 3 years service in notified remote/difficult area; must undertake 2 more years after PG Diploma
- Incentive marks: up to 30% weightage for PG Degree courses; added to NEET score; does not change category
- NRI quota: requires valid passport, NRI certificate, sponsor affidavit, relationship verification; all documents in English
- Disabled Quota (DQ): 5% of seats; requires 40% or more benchmark disability; certificate from designated medical college; UDID Card and affidavit mandatory
Seat allotment and admission process: Freeze, Float, and Free Exit
After your allotment, you have three options: Freeze, Float, or Free Exit (Round-1 only). If you are satisfied with your allotted seat and do not want to upgrade in the next round, you choose 'Freeze'. You must then visit the allotted college in person during the document verification window (6–9 November for Round-1) with all original documents and self-attested copies. If you do not complete document verification and admission within the deadline, your seat is cancelled and your security deposit is forfeited.
If you want to try for a better seat in the next round, you choose 'Float'. You do not need to visit the college; instead, the college verifies your documents online based on scanned copies you uploaded during registration. If discrepancies are found (blurred documents, missing documents, mismatched information), you are notified via SMS/email and must re-upload corrected documents within the specified time. If you are found ineligible, your seat is cancelled.
If you are allotted a seat in Round-1 but do not want it, you can exit for free (17–18 November) without forfeiting your security deposit. Your choices become 'Null & Void' and you must fill fresh choices for Round-2. If you do not exit and do not complete document verification, your seat is cancelled and your security deposit is forfeited.
Candidates allotted in Round-2 can similarly choose Freeze or Float. If you choose Freeze, you must visit the college 27–30 November. If you choose Float, the college verifies documents online. If you do not complete verification, your seat is cancelled and your security deposit is forfeited. After all rounds, security deposits are refunded to the bank account from which you paid.
- Freeze: visit college in person for document verification; must complete by deadline or seat is cancelled
- Float: college verifies documents online; no need to visit; discrepancies notified via SMS/email; must re-upload corrected documents
- Free Exit (Round-1 only): exit without forfeiting security deposit; must fill fresh choices for Round-2
- Failure to complete verification: seat cancelled, security deposit forfeited
- Security deposit refund: after all rounds, refunded to your bank account
Common mistakes that get applications rejected
Name mismatch is the most common reason for rejection. Your name in your NEET (PG)-2026 application must match exactly with your matriculation certificate and other documents. Even a spelling difference (e.g., 'Raj' vs 'Rajesh') will cause rejection. Check this carefully before submitting your application.
Caste and Residential Certificates are frequently rejected because they are issued by the wrong authority or are incomplete. Caste Certificates must be issued by the CO (Circle Officer) or Revenue Officer of your permanent residence district in Bihar. Certificates from other authorities (e.g., Tehsildar, Sarpanch) are rejected. Residential Certificates must explicitly state that you are a 'permanent resident' of Bihar and must include your complete address, letter number, and date of issue. Certificates stating 'resident' or 'temporary resident' or missing any of these details are rejected.
Caste Certificates based on your spouse's caste are rejected; they must be based on your father's caste. If you claim a reserved category but do not submit the proper certificate, you will be treated as Unreserved (UR) and lose your reservation benefit.
Missing or incomplete documents at verification are another major cause of rejection. You must bring originals and self-attested photocopies of all documents listed in the prospectus. If any document is missing, blurred, or does not match your application, your seat is cancelled. Disability Certificates must be from a designated medical college and must include your UDID Card and affidavit; certificates from other sources are rejected.
Failure to lock choices by the deadline results in automatic locking at 11:59 pm, but if you have not filled choices at all, you are not eligible for allotment. Do not wait until the last minute; complete all steps well before the deadline. If your payment fails, re-pay immediately; do not wait for the failed transaction to be refunded.
If you claim remote-area service weightage or NRI quota but do not upload the required certificates during registration, your claim will not be considered. If you claim Disabled Quota but upload a certificate from an unauthorised centre, it will be rejected and you will lose your DQ eligibility.

- ⚠️ All documents must be originals or self-attested copies; missing or blurred documents cause rejection
- ⚠️ Disability Certificate must be from designated medical college, with UDID Card and affidavit
