Understanding the quota you were allotted under

First, the allocation is purely provisional. A seat appearing next to your name today does not by itself guarantee you a place in that college.
Second, mere provisional allocation does not give you any right to claim admission. Your admission will only be confirmed after successful document verification, fulfilment of all eligibility conditions, and compliance with the applicable rules.
Third, and most serious: if at any stage it is found that you have withheld, concealed, suppressed, or misrepresented any material fact, or furnished any false, incorrect, or misleading information or document, or obtained your allocation through fraud or misrepresentation, your allocation or admission can be cancelled forthwith — and you could face further action under the applicable law.
Fourth, the university/competent authority has reserved the right to correct, modify, withdraw, or cancel any allocation found to have been made erroneously or in contravention of the rules — at ANY stage of the admission process, not just now. This means even after you report to your college, an allotment discovered to be wrong can still be reversed.
