Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, which runs Punjab's state NEET UG counselling, has issued a revised schedule for the first round of online counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions in 2026. This is not a new counselling process — it is a date correction to the existing Round 1 schedule already announced by the university. Every step, from choice filling to physical reporting at colleges, has been pushed back by a few days. Candidates who are participating in Punjab's NEET UG 2026 state counselling must follow the new dates below instead of any earlier schedule they may have seen.

Round 1 choice filling for Punjab MBBS/BDS counselling now closes on 23 August 2026 (5 PM), and the seat allotment result will be declared on 27 August 2026 instead of the earlier dates.

Choice filling: what you must do by 23 August

If you are registered for BFUHS Round 1 counselling, you now have until 23 August 2026, 5:00 PM to submit or edit your college and course preferences online. This is nine extra days compared to the original window that was ending on 19 August. Use this extra time to review your preference order carefully — once the window closes, no further changes are possible for this round.

The seat allotment result based on these choices will be displayed on 27 August 2026, five days later than originally planned.

⚠️ Objections to seat allotment must be filed in person, not by email

If you believe there is an error in your provisional seat allotment, you can raise an objection — but the notice is very specific about how. Objections will be accepted ONLY through personal appearance at the Admission Branch, BFUHS, Faridkot, along with your supporting documents. The university has explicitly stated that objections sent by email or any other electronic mode will NOT be entertained.

The revised deadline for filing such objections is 28 August 2026. After objections are reviewed, a revised provisional seat allotment (if any changes are made) will be displayed on 29 August 2026.

  • Objections accepted: in-person appearance only at BFUHS Admission Branch, Faridkot
  • Objections NOT accepted: email or any other electronic submission
  • Deadline: 28 August 2026
  • Bring supporting documents when you appear

Physical reporting to your allotted college (30 August – 5 September)

Candidates who receive a provisional seat allotment must physically report to the college they have been allotted to within the revised window of 30 August 2026 to 5 September 2026. This is the step where your admission is actually finalised, so missing this window can mean losing the seat.

At the college, you will need to go through verification of your original documents, a medical examination (wherever applicable to the course/college), and completion of all admission formalities. You must also pay six months' tuition fee through the University's Online Payment Gateway, which is available in your candidate login on the counselling portal.

  • Report physically to the allotted college — this cannot be done online
  • Carry original documents for verification (as required by the college)
  • Undergo medical examination where applicable
  • Pay six months' tuition fee via the University Online Payment Gateway in your candidate login

Why this matters for your NEET UG 2026 admission plan

This revision resets every downstream deadline in the Round 1 process. If you were tracking the original dates, note that everything — choice filling, result, objections, and reporting — has moved later by roughly five to seven days. Since counselling authorities often run subsequent rounds back-to-back, a delay in Round 1 can also shift when Round 2 or mop-up round dates are announced for Punjab.

Keep checking the official BFUHS admission portal regularly for further updates, as counselling schedules can be revised again.
