Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Andhra Pradesh, has opened a fresh application window for MBBS Stray Round and BDS Phase III (Mopup) counselling under Management Quota Category B and Category C (NRI Lapsed) seats for the 2026-27 academic year. This is a critical opportunity for candidates who were on the merit list for Category B seats but wish to switch to NRI Lapsed category, as well as for new applicants eligible for these seats. The application window is extremely short — it closes on 21 October 2026 at 11:00 AM. Candidates must pay application fees and submit a notarized affidavit proving parental financial capacity to fund the entire course.
Apply by 21 October 2026 at 11:00 AM for MBBS Stray Round or BDS Phase III (Mopup) under NRI Lapsed category; pay ₹6,000 to switch from Category B or ₹31,000 for new registration, plus mandatory security deposit before seat selection.

Unlock My College ListWhat is this notification about?
This is an application notification for two separate counselling rounds: MBBS Stray Round and BDS Phase III (Mopup) onwards, both under Management Quota Category B and Category C (NRI Lapsed). The Stray Round is the final round of MBBS counselling after Phase III (Mopup), designed to fill any remaining unfilled seats. For BDS, this is Phase III (Mopup) and subsequent phases.
The notification serves two groups of candidates: (1) those already on the merit list displayed on 2 October 2026 for Category B1/B2 seats who now wish to apply for NRI Lapsed category seats, and (2) entirely new applicants who are eligible for Category B or Category C (NRI Lapsed) seats. This is a last-chance opportunity to secure a management quota seat in Andhra Pradesh medical or dental colleges.
Important dates and application window
The application portal opens on 19 October 2026 at 9:00 PM and closes on 21 October 2026 at 11:00 AM. This is a 50-hour window only — candidates must apply immediately and cannot delay. After 11:00 AM on 21 October, the portal will close and no further applications will be accepted.
Candidates can apply through two websites: https://drntr.uhsap.in or https://apuhs-ugadmissions.aptonline.in/MBBSMQ/Home/Home. Both portals are live and functional; use whichever is more accessible to you.
- Application opens: 19 October 2026, 9:00 PM
- Application closes: 21 October 2026, 11:00 AM
- Websites: https://drntr.uhsap.in or https://apuhs-ugadmissions.aptonline.in/MBBSMQ/Home/Home
Who is eligible to apply?
Two categories of candidates can apply: (1) Candidates already on the merit list displayed on 2 October 2026 for Category B1 or B2 seats (but NOT registered under NRI category) who now wish to change their status to NRI Lapsed category. These candidates pay a lower fee of ₹6,000. (2) Entirely new candidates who have not applied before and are eligible for Category B or Category C (NRI Lapsed) seats. These candidates pay ₹31,000.
To be eligible, you must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and meet the criteria for Management Quota admission in Andhra Pradesh. The notification does not specify additional eligibility criteria beyond NEET qualification, so refer to the Prospectus dated 1 September 2026 and the notification dated 13 September 2026 for full details.
- Already on merit list for Category B1/B2 (non-NRI) and switching to NRI Lapsed
- New applicants eligible for Category B or Category C (NRI Lapsed)
- Must have qualified NEET UG 2026
- Must meet Management Quota eligibility criteria (see Prospectus 1-9-2026)
Who is NOT eligible?
The notification explicitly lists three categories of candidates who cannot apply: (1) Candidates who already joined MBBS in Phase 1 or Phase 2 counselling (under either Competent Authority Quota or Management Quota) at any NTRUHS college. (2) Candidates who were allotted MBBS seats in Phase III (Mopup) counselling (under either quota) at any NTRUHS college. (3) Candidates whose names appear on the Medical Counselling Committee's list up to the Stray Round.
Additionally, if you have already secured admission in a medical college in another state and joined the course, you cannot apply. Doing so would constitute 'seat blocking' and the university will initiate legal action and report you to the National Medical Commission. This is a serious penalty — do not apply if you are already studying medicine elsewhere.
- Already joined MBBS in Phase 1 or Phase 2 (CQ or MQ)
- Already allotted MBBS in Phase III (Mopup) (CQ or MQ)
- Name on Medical Counselling Committee list up to Stray Round
- Already joined MBBS/medical course in another state
- Ineligible candidates obtaining merit position will NOT be admitted
Application fees: what you must pay
The fee depends on your category. If you are already on the merit list for Category B1/B2 and are changing your status to NRI Lapsed, you pay ₹6,000 as a late fee for the status change. If you are a new applicant (not on any previous merit list), you pay ₹31,000, which comprises: Application and Processing Fee ₹11,000 + Late Fee ₹20,000.
CRITICAL: These fees are non-refundable and non-adjustable under any circumstances. Once you pay, the money is gone — even if you are rejected, ineligible, or do not join. The university will not refund or adjust this amount to any future round or date. Before paying, carefully read the Prospectus (1 September 2026) and the notification (13 September 2026) to confirm your eligibility. Many candidates lose money by paying without checking eligibility first.
- Category B to NRI Lapsed status change: ₹6,000 (non-refundable)
- New registration (Category B or C, NRI Lapsed): ₹31,000 (non-refundable)
- Breakdown of ₹31,000: Application & Processing Fee ₹11,000 + Late Fee ₹20,000
- Fees are final — no refund or adjustment under any circumstance
Mandatory security deposit before seat selection

Official 2023–2025 closing ranks and fees, matched to your rank.
After your application is accepted and you are placed on the merit list, you must pay a security deposit BEFORE you can exercise web options (select colleges and courses). This security deposit is separate from the application fee and is compulsory. For MBBS, the security deposit is ₹3,00,000. For BDS, it is ₹1,00,000.
This is a large sum and must be paid in advance. The notification does not specify when this deposit must be paid, but it states it must be paid 'before exercising web options.' Watch for a separate notification about the web options window and deposit payment deadline. Failure to pay the security deposit will prevent you from selecting your college and course, even if you are on the merit list.
- MBBS security deposit: ₹3,00,000 (mandatory before web options)
- BDS security deposit: ₹1,00,000 (mandatory before web options)
- Separate from application fee
- Must be paid before you can select colleges and courses

The NRI Lapsed Affidavit: what it is and why it matters
If you are applying under NRI Lapsed category, you must upload a Notarized Affidavit of Parental Financial Status (Annexure-II). This is a legal document signed by your parent/guardian and notarized by a notary public. It declares your family's total annual income from all sources for the financial year 2025–2026, and the specific sources of that income (salary, business, agriculture, savings, loans, etc.). You must also declare that your family has the financial capacity to pay the full annual tuition fee and other fees for the entire duration of the course (4.5 years for MBBS, 4 years for BDS) without default.
This affidavit is a legal declaration. If any information in it is found to be false, incorrect, or misleading at any stage, your admission will be cancelled and you will face legal and penal action. Do not exaggerate income or hide sources. Be truthful and complete. The affidavit template is provided in Annexure-II of the notification — fill it out carefully with your parent's signature and candidate's signature, then take it to a notary public to get it notarized. The notarized copy must be scanned and uploaded as a PDF (max 2000 KB).
- Required for all NRI Lapsed category applicants
- Must be notarized by a notary public (not just signed)
- Declares family's total annual income for FY 2025–2026
- Lists all sources of income: salary, business, agriculture, savings, loans, etc.
- Declares financial capacity to pay full course fees without default
- False or misleading information leads to cancellation of admission and legal action
- Template provided in Annexure-II — fill carefully and get notarized
Available seats: which colleges and how many?
Annexure I of the notification lists all unfilled seats under Management Quota after Phase III (Mopup) counselling. A total of 222 seats are available across 28 colleges in Andhra Pradesh — all under Category C (NRI Lapsed). There are zero seats available under Category B1 and Category B2. This means if you are applying for Category B seats, you are applying for seats 'subject to availability' — i.e., if any Category B seats become available due to non-joining of allotted candidates, they will be filled in this Stray Round. However, as of now, no Category B seats are unfilled.
The 222 Category C seats are distributed across government colleges (e.g., Government Medical College Paderu with 7 seats, Government Medical College Vizianagaram with 3 seats) and private colleges (e.g., Anna Gowri Medical College Tirupati with 23 seats, Katuri Medical College Guntur with 19 seats). Some colleges are minority institutions (e.g., Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences with 15 seats, NIMRA Institute with 17 seats). Review Annexure I to see which colleges have seats and how many.
- Total unfilled seats: 222 (all Category C / NRI Lapsed)
- Category B1 seats: 0
- Category B2 seats: 0
- Category B seats available 'subject to availability' only if candidates do not join
- 28 colleges participating (government, private, and minority)
- Seats range from 1 to 23 per college
Step-by-step application process
Step 1: Before applying, read the Prospectus (1 September 2026) and the notification (13 September 2026) to confirm your eligibility. Check the list of ineligible candidates (already joined, already allotted, on MCC list, or joined elsewhere). If you are ineligible, do not apply — your fee will not be refunded.
Step 2: Prepare all required documents. Scan them in the correct file format (PDF or JPG/JPEG) and ensure they are within the size limits (500 KB for most, 2000 KB for NRI affidavit, 100 KB for photos). If applying for NRI Lapsed, get the Affidavit (Annexure-II) notarized by a notary public.
Step 3: Visit the application portal (https://drntr.uhsap.in or https://apuhs-ugadmissions.aptonline.in/MBBSMQ/Home/Home) between 9:00 PM on 19 October and 11:00 AM on 21 October 2026. Create a login or use your existing login if you were on the previous merit list.
Step 4: Fill in your personal and academic details. If you are changing from Category B to NRI Lapsed, upload the Notarized Affidavit. If you are a new applicant, fill in all details as a new registration.
Step 5: Upload all scanned documents in the correct order and format. Double-check that each file is legible, within size limits, and in the correct format before uploading.
Step 6: Pay the application fee online. For Category B to NRI Lapsed change: ₹6,000. For new registration: ₹31,000. Keep the payment receipt.

Common mistakes that get applications rejected
Mistake 1: Uploading Grade Certificate instead of Marks Memo. The notification explicitly states that Grade Certificate is NOT accepted for the Qualifying Exam. You must upload the Intermediate Marks Memo or an equivalent document showing marks, not a grade certificate. If you upload a grade certificate, your application will be rejected.
Mistake 2: Missing the NRI Affidavit or uploading an un-notarized affidavit. If you are applying for NRI Lapsed category, the Notarized Affidavit is mandatory. It must be signed by both parent and candidate AND notarized by a notary public. A simple signed copy is not enough. If you upload an un-notarized affidavit or no affidavit at all, your application will be rejected.
Mistake 3: Uploading documents that exceed file size limits. Each document has a maximum file size (500 KB for most, 2000 KB for NRI affidavit, 100 KB for photos). If your scanned file is too large, the upload will fail or the document will be rejected. Compress your PDFs and JPGs before uploading.
Mistake 4: Uploading unclear or illegible scans. If the scanned document is blurry, faded, or unreadable, it will be rejected. Ensure your scans are clear, well-lit, and legible before uploading.
Mistake 5: Applying when ineligible. If you have already joined MBBS in Phase 1 or Phase 2, or were allotted in Phase III (Mopup), or are on the MCC list, or have joined MBBS elsewhere, you are ineligible. Applying anyway will result in rejection and loss of your application fee. Check the ineligibility list carefully before applying.
Mistake 6: Providing false information in the NRI Affidavit. If your affidavit contains false, incorrect, or misleading information, your admission will be cancelled and you will face legal action. Be truthful about income and sources.
Mistake 7: Applying after 11:00 AM on 21 October. The portal closes at 11:00 AM on 21 October 2026. Applications submitted after this time will not be accepted. Do not wait until the last minute — apply early.
- Do NOT upload Grade Certificate — must be Marks Memo
- NRI Affidavit must be notarized (not just signed)
- All documents must be within file size limits
- Scans must be clear and legible
- Do not apply if ineligible (already joined, already allotted, on MCC list, joined elsewhere)
- Do not provide false information in affidavit
- Do not apply after 11:00 AM on 21 October 2026
What happens after you apply?
After you submit your application and pay the fee, the university will verify your documents and eligibility. If everything is in order, you will be placed on the merit list. The notification does not specify when the merit list will be displayed, but it will be posted on the university website (https://drntr.uhsap.in). Check the website regularly for updates.
Once you are on the merit list, you must pay the security deposit (₹3,00,000 for MBBS, ₹1,00,000 for BDS) before you can exercise web options. A separate notification will be issued for the web options window and the deadline for paying the security deposit. During the web options window, you will log in and select your preferred colleges and courses in order of preference. The allotment will be based on merit and your choices.
If your application is rejected due to missing documents, ineligible status, or false information, you will be notified. The notification does not specify how you will be informed (email, SMS, or portal message), so check your email and the portal regularly. If rejected, your application fee is non-refundable.
- University verifies documents and eligibility
- Merit list displayed on website (date not specified)
- Check website regularly for updates
- Pay security deposit before web options window
- Exercise web options during notified window
- Allotment based on merit and your choices
- If rejected, fee is non-refundable

See My CollegesFrequently asked questions
I was on the merit list for Category B seats on 2 October 2026. Can I now apply for NRI Lapsed seats?
Yes, if you were on the merit list for Category B1 or B2 seats (but not registered under NRI category) and wish to apply for NRI Lapsed category seats, you can do so by uploading a Notarized Affidavit of Parental Financial Status and paying a late fee of ₹6,000. You must apply between 9:00 PM on 19 October and 11:00 AM on 21 October 2026.
I have already joined MBBS in Phase 2 counselling at an NTRUHS college. Can I apply for the Stray Round?
No, you are not eligible. The notification explicitly states that candidates who have already joined MBBS in Phase 1 or Phase 2 counselling cannot participate in the Stray Round. If you apply anyway, your application will be rejected and your fee will not be refunded.
What is the NRI Lapsed Affidavit and why do I need it?
The NRI Lapsed Affidavit is a legal document signed by your parent/guardian and notarized by a notary public. It declares your family's total annual income for FY 2025–2026 and confirms that your family has the financial capacity to pay the full course fees (4.5 years for MBBS, 4 years for BDS) without default. It is mandatory for all NRI Lapsed category applicants. If any information in it is false, your admission will be cancelled and you will face legal action.
I uploaded a Grade Certificate for my Qualifying Exam. Will my application be accepted?
No. The notification explicitly states that Grade Certificate is NOT accepted. You must upload the Intermediate Marks Memo or an equivalent document showing marks. If you uploaded a Grade Certificate, your application will be rejected. You will need to reapply with the correct document if the portal allows resubmission, but the application window closes on 21 October 2026 at 11:00 AM.
What is the security deposit and when must I pay it?
The security deposit is a mandatory payment required before you can exercise web options (select colleges and courses). For MBBS, it is ₹3,00,000. For BDS, it is ₹1,00,000. This is separate from the application fee. You must pay it after you are placed on the merit list and before the web options window opens. A separate notification will specify the deadline for paying the security deposit.
I applied for Category B seats but there are no Category B seats available. What happens?
Category B seats are available 'subject to availability.' As of now, there are zero unfilled Category B1 and B2 seats. However, if any Category B candidates do not join after being allotted, their seats will become available and may be filled in this Stray Round. If no Category B seats become available, you will not be allotted a seat. You can still apply and hope that seats become available, but there is no guarantee.
Can I apply if I have already joined MBBS at a medical college in another state?
No, you are not eligible and you must not apply. If you have already joined MBBS in another state and apply for NTRUHS seats, you will be blocking seats. The university will initiate legal action against you and report you to the National Medical Commission. This is a serious penalty. Do not apply if you are already studying medicine elsewhere.
What is the deadline to apply and what happens if I miss it?
The application deadline is 11:00 AM on 21 October 2026. The portal will close at this time and no further applications will be accepted. If you miss this deadline, you cannot apply. There is no extension or late submission. Apply as early as possible — do not wait until the last minute.
My application fee is ₹31,000 for new registration. Can I get a refund if I am rejected or do not join?
No. The notification explicitly states that the application fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable under any circumstances. Once you pay, the money is gone — even if you are rejected, ineligible, or do not join. Before paying, carefully confirm your eligibility by reading the Prospectus (1 September 2026) and the notification (13 September 2026).
I am a local Andhra Pradesh candidate claiming Category B2 seats. What extra documents do I need?
You must upload Study Certificates from 6th class to 10+2 (in PDF format, 500 KB each) to prove that you studied in Andhra Pradesh. These are in addition to all other mandatory documents. If you do not upload these certificates, your application may be rejected.
When will the merit list be displayed and when can I exercise web options?
The notification does not specify the date for the merit list or the web options window. The university will issue a separate notification for these. Check the official website (https://drntr.uhsap.in) regularly for updates. Do not assume dates — wait for the official notification.
What if I find an error in my application after submitting it?
The notification does not mention a process for correcting errors after submission. Once you submit, your application is locked. If there is an error, contact the university helpline (8978780501, 7997710168) immediately to ask if corrections are possible. However, it is best to avoid errors by carefully reviewing your application before submitting.
Apply immediately — the window closes on 21 October 2026 at 11:00 AM. Before applying, confirm your eligibility by reading the Prospectus (1 September 2026) and the notification (13 September 2026). Prepare all required documents, get the NRI Affidavit notarized if applicable, and upload everything in the correct format and size. Pay the application fee (₹6,000 or ₹31,000) and submit. After you are placed on the merit list, pay the security deposit (₹3,00,000 for MBBS, ₹1,00,000 for BDS) before exercising web options.
