Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh, has opened web-based counselling for MBBS admission under the NCC Category of Competent Authority Quota seats for the 2026-27 academic year. This is a special counselling round for candidates whose names appear on the Provisional Final Merit List for NCC Category released on 08-10-2026. If you are on this merit list, you must log in and fill your college preferences (web options) immediately — the window opens today at 7 PM and closes tomorrow at 4 PM. This is your chance to secure an MBBS seat; missing this deadline means you lose the opportunity entirely.

If your name is on the NCC Category merit list released on 08-10-2026, you must fill web options between 7 PM today (08-10-2026) and 4 PM tomorrow (09-10-2026) or you will not be considered for any seat.

What is this counselling round?

This is a web-based counselling round specifically for MBBS seats reserved under the NCC Category within Andhra Pradesh's Competent Authority Quota (CAQ). The Competent Authority Quota is a pool of seats that the state government fills through its own counselling process, separate from the national-level NEET counselling. Within this quota, a certain number of seats are earmarked exclusively for candidates who have served in the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

This round is being held after the Provisional Final Merit List for NCC Category was displayed on 08-10-2026. Only candidates whose names appear on that list are eligible to participate. The university has published a seat matrix showing exactly how many NCC seats are available at each medical college across Andhra Pradesh, broken down by category (OC, SC2, SC3, ST, BCA, BCB, BCD, BCE) and gender (F for female, G for general/male).

Who is eligible to fill web options in this round?

You are eligible if and only if your name appears on the Provisional Final Merit List under NCC Category that was displayed on 08-10-2026. The university has explicitly stated that all other candidates are not eligible to exercise web options in this round.

There is one critical exclusion: if you have already availed the FREE EXIT facility in an earlier counselling round, you are not eligible to participate in this NCC counselling. The FREE EXIT facility allows a candidate to withdraw from a previously allotted seat without penalty; if you used it, you cannot now apply for NCC seats.

If you have already joined and are continuing in an MBBS course under Phase-I or Phase-II counselling (either under Competent Authority Quota general seats or Convenor Quota), you may still be eligible under certain conditions — see the section on 'If you have already joined a college' below.

Important dates and web options window

The web options window is extremely short — only 33 hours. It opens at 7:00 PM on 08-10-2026 (today) and closes at 4:00 PM on 09-10-2026 (tomorrow). After 4 PM tomorrow, the portal will close and you will not be able to submit or modify your options. There is no extension or grace period.

The notification was issued on 08-10-2026. The seat matrix showing all available NCC seats across colleges was displayed on the university website on 29-08-2026, so you should review it now to understand which colleges have NCC seats in your category.

  • Notification issued: 08-10-2026
  • Web options open: 7:00 PM on 08-10-2026
  • Web options close: 4:00 PM on 09-10-2026
  • Seat matrix reference date: 29-08-2026

How to access the web options portal

You will log in using your existing login ID (the same credentials you used for earlier counselling rounds). The university has provided two portal URLs; both lead to the same system, so use whichever is more accessible to you.

Once logged in, you will see a list of all colleges where NCC seats are available in your category. If you have already joined a college in an earlier round, that college will be highlighted in green and set as your default last option — you cannot remove it, but you can rank other colleges above it if you wish to upgrade.

How to fill web options: step-by-step

Web options are your ranked list of college preferences. You are telling the system: 'I prefer College A most, then College B, then College C,' and so on. The system will then allocate you to the highest-ranked college on your list where a seat becomes available based on your merit rank and category.

There is no limit on the number of web options you can submit. You can rank every single college that has an NCC seat in your category. The university strongly advises you to do exactly that — the more options you give, the higher your chances of getting a seat allotment.

Rank the colleges in strict order of your preference. Put your most-preferred college first, your second choice second, and so on. The system will match you to the highest-ranked college where you are eligible and a seat is available.

If you have already joined a college under Phase-I or Phase-II counselling, that college will appear as a green-highlighted option at the bottom of your list. You cannot remove it, but you should only rank colleges above it that you genuinely consider better than your current college. If you upgrade to a better college in this round, your previous seat will be automatically cancelled and added back to the general counselling pool.

  • Log in with your existing credentials
  • View all colleges with NCC seats in your category
  • Rank them in order of preference (1st choice, 2nd choice, etc.)
  • Submit your ranked list before 4 PM on 09-10-2026
  • You can rank as many colleges as you wish — there is no upper limit

Understanding the seat matrix and your category

The seat matrix shows every medical college in Andhra Pradesh that has NCC seats available, and exactly how many seats are available in each category. Categories are: OC (Open/General), SC2, SC3, ST (Scheduled Tribe), BCA, BCB, BCD, BCE (various backward classes). Within each category, seats are further divided by gender: F (Female) and G (General/Male).

For example, if the matrix shows 'OC NCC: F=1, G=0', it means there is 1 female OC NCC seat and 0 male OC NCC seats at that college. You can only apply for seats in your own category and gender. If you are an OC male candidate, you can only apply for colleges that show 'OC NCC: G=1' or higher.

The total column shows the total number of NCC seats at each college across all categories. Some colleges have many NCC seats (e.g., 4 at ACSR Govt Medical College, Nellore), while others have just 1. Review the matrix carefully to identify which colleges have seats available in your category.

  • OC = Open/General category
  • SC2, SC3 = Scheduled Caste sub-categories
  • ST = Scheduled Tribe
  • BCA, BCB, BCD, BCE = Backward Class sub-categories
  • F = Female seats
  • G = General/Male seats
  • You can only apply for seats in your own category and gender

Critical trap: Filling web options does NOT guarantee a seat

This is the most important thing to understand: submitting your web options is NOT the same as getting a seat. Filling web options is just the first step. After all candidates have submitted their options, the university will run an allocation algorithm that matches candidates to seats based on their merit rank, category, and the preferences they submitted.

The university has explicitly stated: 'A mere exercising prioritised web option under this notification does not confer any automatic right to secure admission into MBBS Course.' This means even if you fill all your options perfectly, you might not get a seat if your merit rank is not high enough or if all the colleges you ranked have already been filled by higher-ranked candidates.

Seat allocation will follow the procedure laid out in government orders G.O.P.No.646 (dated 10-07-1979) and G.O.Rt.No.550 (dated 30-07-2001) and their amendments. The exact allocation process is complex and depends on your rank, category, and the preferences of all other candidates.

  • Filling web options ≠ getting a seat
  • Allocation is based on merit rank, category, and your preferences
  • Higher-ranked candidates in your category will be matched first
  • You will only get a seat if one is available at a college you ranked

If you have already joined and are continuing in an MBBS course under Phase-I or Phase-II counselling, the rules for this NCC round are complex and depend on which quota you originally joined under. Read your situation carefully below.

**Scenario 1: You joined under Competent Authority Quota (CQ) general seats in Phase-I or Phase-II.** Your existing college will appear as a green-highlighted option at the bottom of your web options list. You cannot remove it. You should only rank other colleges above it if you genuinely believe they are better than your current college. If you upgrade to a better college in this NCC round, your previous seat will be automatically cancelled and added back to the Phase-III general counselling (mop-up) pool. You will have no claim on your old seat after upgradation.

**Scenario 2: You joined under Convenor Quota (CQ) in Phase-I or Phase-II AND you are now found eligible under NCC category.** You will be considered for upgradation within the same college first (your existing general category seat can be upgraded to an NCC category seat at the same college). If you rank other colleges above your current college, you can upgrade to a better college of your choice under NCC category. If you upgrade, your existing seat is automatically cancelled.

**Scenario 3: You joined under general category counselling (not Competent Authority Quota) in Phase-I or Phase-II.** You are NOT eligible for NCC category seats within the same college. You can only apply for NCC seats at other colleges. If you get a seat at a different college, your previous seat is automatically cancelled.

**Key point for all scenarios:** If you upgrade in this NCC round, you lose all claim on your previous seat. It will be cancelled automatically. Do not rank a college unless you are genuinely willing to leave your current college for it.

  • Your existing college appears as a green-highlighted default option
  • You cannot remove your existing college from the list
  • Only rank other colleges if they are genuinely better than your current college
  • If you upgrade, your previous seat is automatically cancelled — no claim on it
  • Your old seat will be added to the mop-up (Phase-III) counselling pool

What happens after you submit web options?

After the web options window closes at 4 PM on 09-10-2026, the university will process all submitted options and run the seat allocation algorithm. The exact date of seat allotment has not been announced in this notification, but it will be published separately by the university.

Once seats are allocated, an allotment list will be released. If your name appears on the allotment list, you will be assigned to one of the colleges you ranked (the highest-ranked college where a seat was available for you). You will then need to report to that college, submit your original documents, and complete the joining process within the deadline specified by the university.

If you do not appear on the allotment list, you did not get a seat in this NCC round. You may be eligible for subsequent counselling rounds (such as Phase-III general mop-up counselling) if they are conducted.

  • Web options close: 4 PM on 09-10-2026
  • Allocation algorithm will be run after the deadline
  • Allotment list will be released on a date to be announced
  • If allotted, you must report to the college and submit documents within the deadline
  • If not allotted, you may be eligible for subsequent counselling rounds

Critical warning: Ineligibility after allotment

The university has issued a stern warning: 'Candidates are cautioned that if a seat is allotted and the candidate is later found ineligible, the allotment will be automatically cancelled without any notice.' This means if you get a seat but the university later discovers that you do not actually meet the eligibility criteria for NCC category (for example, if your NCC certificate is invalid or you do not have the required NCC service), your seat will be cancelled immediately with no warning or opportunity to appeal.

To avoid this, ensure before you fill web options that you genuinely meet all eligibility criteria for NCC category. Your name must be on the Provisional Final Merit List for NCC Category (released 08-10-2026), and you must have valid NCC credentials. If there is any doubt, contact the university before submitting your options.

  • Ineligibility discovered after allotment = automatic cancellation
  • No notice or warning will be given
  • Verify your eligibility before filling web options
  • Ensure your NCC certificate and credentials are valid

Documents and fees

This notification does not specify any documents to be submitted or fees to be paid at the web options stage. The notification states: 'All the other terms and conditions notified vide this office notification and also Instructions on counselling procedure dt: 29-08-2026 remains the same.' This means you should refer to the earlier counselling procedure notification (dated 29-08-2026) for details on documents required at the time of joining and any fees applicable.

Typically, after you are allotted a seat, you will be required to submit your original NEET admit card, 10th and 12th mark sheets, NCC certificate, category certificate (if applicable), and other documents at the college. Fees will be charged as per the college's fee structure. However, the exact requirements are in the 29-08-2026 notification, which you should obtain from the university website.

  • No documents required at web options stage
  • Refer to the 29-08-2026 counselling procedure notification for document requirements
  • Documents will be required at the time of joining the college
  • Fees will be charged as per the college's fee structure

Frequently asked questions

I am on the NCC Category merit list released on 08-10-2026. What do I need to do right now?

You must log in to the web options portal immediately (using https://drntr.uhsap.in or https://apuhs-ugadmissions.aptonline.in/MBBS/Home/StudentLogin) and fill your college preferences before 4 PM on 09-10-2026. The window is only 33 hours long. Rank all the colleges where NCC seats are available in your category, in order of your preference. Do not delay — after 4 PM tomorrow, the portal will close and you will not be able to submit options.

I used the FREE EXIT facility in an earlier round. Can I still apply for NCC seats?

No. The notification explicitly states: 'Candidates who availed FREE EXIT facility are not eligible to exercise web options.' If you used FREE EXIT, you cannot participate in this NCC counselling round.

How many colleges can I rank in my web options?

There is no limit. You can rank every single college that has an NCC seat in your category. The university strongly advises you to do exactly that — the more options you give, the higher your chances of getting a seat. Rank them in strict order of your preference, with your most-preferred college first.

I already joined a college in Phase-I counselling. Can I apply for NCC seats at a different college?

It depends on which quota you joined under. If you joined under Competent Authority Quota general seats, your existing college will appear as a green-highlighted default option, and you can rank other colleges above it if they are better. If you upgrade, your previous seat will be automatically cancelled. If you joined under general category counselling (not CAQ), you cannot get an NCC seat at the same college, but you can apply for NCC seats at other colleges. In all cases, if you upgrade, your old seat is lost permanently.

What happens if I fill web options but don't get a seat?

Filling web options does not guarantee a seat. Seats are allocated based on your merit rank, category, and the preferences of all other candidates. If your rank is not high enough or all the colleges you ranked are filled by higher-ranked candidates, you will not get a seat in this round. You may be eligible for subsequent counselling rounds (such as Phase-III mop-up counselling) if they are conducted.

When will the allotment list be released?

The notification does not specify the date of allotment. It will be announced separately by the university. After the web options window closes at 4 PM on 09-10-2026, the university will process all options and run the allocation algorithm. Check the university website regularly for the allotment date.

I am not sure if I am eligible for NCC category. What should I do?

If there is any doubt about your eligibility, contact Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences immediately before filling web options. The university has warned that if you get a seat but are later found ineligible, your allotment will be automatically cancelled without notice. It is better to clarify now than to lose a seat later.

Can I change my web options after I submit them?

The notification does not explicitly say whether you can modify your options after submission. To be safe, assume you cannot. Fill your options carefully the first time, in strict order of preference, and submit them before the deadline. Do not submit until you are completely sure of your ranking.

What documents do I need to submit with my web options?

No documents are required at the web options stage. You only fill your college preferences online. If you are allotted a seat, you will then need to submit your original documents (NEET admit card, 10th and 12th mark sheets, NCC certificate, category certificate if applicable, etc.) at the college. The exact document requirements are in the 29-08-2026 counselling procedure notification.

If I upgrade to a better college in this NCC round, what happens to my previous seat?

Your previous seat will be automatically cancelled immediately upon upgradation. You will have no claim on it. The seat will be added back to the Phase-III general counselling (mop-up) pool. Do not rank a college unless you are genuinely willing to leave your current college for it.

I am an OC male candidate. Which colleges can I apply for?

You can only apply for colleges that have OC NCC seats available for males (shown as 'G' in the seat matrix). For example, if a college shows 'OC NCC: F=1, G=0', you cannot apply there because there are no male OC NCC seats. Review the seat matrix carefully to identify all colleges with OC NCC male seats, and rank them in order of your preference.

What if I don't fill any web options by the deadline?

If you do not fill web options by 4 PM on 09-10-2026, you will not be considered for any seat in this NCC round. You will lose the opportunity entirely. There is no extension or grace period. Fill your options before the deadline.

If your name is on the NCC Category merit list released on 08-10-2026, you must act immediately. Log in to the web options portal (https://drntr.uhsap.in or https://apuhs-ugadmissions.aptonline.in/MBBS/Home/StudentLogin) and rank all colleges with NCC seats in your category, in order of preference. The deadline is 4 PM on 09-10-2026 — only 33 hours from now. After that, the portal closes and you cannot submit options. Do not delay. If you have any doubts about your eligibility, contact the university before filling options. Remember: filling web options does not guarantee a seat; allocation depends on your merit rank and the preferences of all other candidates.
