Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Andhra Pradesh, has opened the final stray round of web-based counselling for MBBS admission for the 2026–27 academic year. This is the last opportunity to secure a seat in Management Quota (Category B1 and B2) at private medical colleges, or in NRI Lapsed Category seats at government and private colleges across Andhra Pradesh. The option-entry window is extremely short — only 22–23 October 2026 — and classes have already begun on 15 September 2026. If you are eligible and have not yet been allotted a seat, this is your final chance.
The stray round option window closes at 4 PM on 23 October 2026; eligible candidates must log in, select colleges, pay the university fee (₹35,100–₹70,100), and report to their allotted college immediately with original certificates.

Unlock My College ListWhat is the Stray Round and Who Can Apply?
The stray round is the final counselling round after Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III (Mop-up) counselling have closed. It is open only to candidates who have NOT yet been allotted a seat in any of the earlier rounds and who meet the eligibility criteria. This round fills remaining vacant seats in Management Quota (B1 and B2 categories) at private medical colleges, and NRI Lapsed Category seats at government and private colleges, including Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women in Tirupati.
This is a one-time, final opportunity. Once you are allotted a seat in the stray round, you cannot participate in any further counselling rounds, and you cannot resign from the seat you are given.
Who Is NOT Eligible for the Stray Round?
The university has clearly defined who cannot participate. If you fall into any of the following categories, your application will be rejected, so do not waste time applying.
- Candidates who already hold and have joined an MBBS seat under Phase I or Phase II counselling (whether under Competent Authority Quota or Management Quota) at Dr. NTRUHS.
- Candidates who were allotted an MBBS seat under Phase III (Mop-up) counselling at Dr. NTRUHS, regardless of whether they joined or not.
- Candidates whose names appear on the Medical Counselling Committee's list up to the stray round, or who have already joined an MBBS course in another state.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step Process

Critical Rules: What Happens After You Are Allotted a Seat
Every kind of MBBS/BDS seat, one rank
See the real seats your NEET rank can reach.
Once you are allotted a seat in the stray round, several strict rules apply. You MUST report to the allotted college in person within the reporting schedule specified in your allotment order. You must bring all original certificates, your provisional allotment order, and a copy of your final application. You cannot resign from the seat — the university does not permit withdrawals until the closure of the admissions schedule. If you fail to report within the prescribed time, you will forfeit your admission and lose your seat.
Additionally, if you are allotted a seat in the stray round, you are barred from participating in any further counselling rounds. There is no upgradation or free exit after Phase III, so the stray round is truly your last chance. The university also strictly prohibits seat blocking or cancellation of MBBS seats, and any student found involved in seat blocking will face legal action.
- You MUST report to the allotted college within the prescribed schedule — failure to do so forfeits your admission.
- You cannot resign from a stray round seat until the closure of the admissions schedule.
- You cannot participate in any further counselling rounds after the stray round.
- No upgradation or free exit is permitted after Phase III.
- Seat blocking is strictly prohibited; legal action will be taken against violators.
- All terms and conditions of Phase III (Mop-up) counselling apply to the stray round.
Documents You Must Bring to the College
When you report to your allotted college, you must bring specific documents. The college will verify all original certificates during the admission process. If any discrepancy is found between your original certificates and the information in your application, your provisional allotment will be cancelled and action will be taken against you as per university regulations. This is a serious matter — ensure all your documents are genuine and match your application exactly.
- Allotment order (downloaded from the portal after paying the university fee)
- Provisional allotment order
- Final application copy
- All original certificates (10th, 12th, NEET scorecard, category certificate if applicable, etc.)
- Any other documents specified in the counselling procedure instructions
Important Traps and Things That Will Get Your Application Rejected
Several common mistakes can result in your application being rejected or your allotment being cancelled. Read these carefully and avoid them.
First, if you have already joined an MBBS seat in Phase I, Phase II, or Phase III counselling at Dr. NTRUHS, or if you have joined an MBBS course in another state, you are not eligible and your application will be rejected. Second, if your name appears on the Medical Counselling Committee's list up to the stray round, you cannot apply. Third, if you do not pay the university fee within the time specified, you will not be able to download your allotment order and will lose your seat. Fourth, if you do not report to the allotted college within the prescribed schedule, you will forfeit your admission. Fifth, if any discrepancy is found in your original certificates during verification at the college, your allotment will be cancelled. Sixth, exercising web options does not automatically guarantee you a seat — the allotment depends on the algorithm and the availability of seats in your chosen colleges.
- ⚠️ Already joined an MBBS seat in Phase I, II, or III? You are NOT eligible.
- ⚠️ Already joined MBBS in another state? You are NOT eligible.
- ⚠️ Your name on the Medical Counselling Committee list? You are NOT eligible.
- ⚠️ Fail to pay the university fee? You cannot download your allotment order.
- ⚠️ Fail to report to the college on time? You forfeit your admission.
- ⚠️ Discrepancy in original certificates? Your allotment will be cancelled.
- ⚠️ Selecting colleges does not guarantee a seat — allotment depends on availability and the algorithm.
