Andhra Pradesh NEET UG 2026 MBBS/BDS Management Quota: Apply by Sept 7

Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Andhra Pradesh, has opened online applications for MBBS and BDS admissions for 2026-27 under two categories: Competent Authority (Self-financing) seats in new government medical colleges permitted from 2023-24 onwards, and Management Quota Category-B seats in private un-aided medical and dental colleges. This is a critical window for NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates in Andhra Pradesh and those eligible for all-India Category-B1 seats. Applications are entirely online; no offline forms are accepted. The registration deadline is 6 September 2026 without late fee, or 7 September with a ₹20,000 late fee. After 7 September, no further registrations will be allowed under any circumstances.

What This Prospectus Covers

This prospectus governs admissions into MBBS and BDS courses for the academic year 2026-27 under two distinct seat categories:

1. **Competent Authority (Self-financing) seats** in new Government Medical Colleges permitted from 2023-24 onwards — these are 35% of the total intake in each college, allocated to local candidates of Andhra Pradesh.

2. **Management Quota Category-B seats** (35% of intake) in private un-aided non-minority and minority medical and dental colleges — split into B1 (15%, all-India merit) and B2 (85%, Andhra Pradesh local candidates only).

A separate notification will be issued later for Category-C (NRI) seats. The admissions follow NMC (National Medical Commission) and DCI (Dental Council of India) rules and are conducted through separate counsellings using a common online application.

Application Fee & Late Fee Structure

The application and processing fee (including verification fee) is **non-refundable** and will not be adjusted to any future date under any circumstances. Read the prospectus carefully before paying.

**Important:** Bank charges are extra and will be added to the fee amount. Once paid, no refund or adjustment is possible, even if you do not receive a seat or withdraw later.

Who Is Eligible: NEET Score & Age Requirements

To be eligible, you must have qualified in NEET UG 2026 by securing the cut-off marks or higher, and you must meet all other eligibility criteria. The rank and score in NEET UG 2026 are the sole basis for selection.

**Minimum age:** You must complete 17 years of age by 31 December 2026. If you have not turned 17 by this date, you are not eligible and should not apply.

**Educational qualification:** You must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent, securing at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany, Zoology, or Biotechnology) combined. For SC/ST/BC/OBC/PwBD candidates, the minimum is 40%. These lower percentages apply only to determine eligibility for cut-off scores — they do not grant any reservation, as there are no reserved quotas under these categories for Management Quota seats.

NEET UG 2026 Cut-Off Scores by Category

You must have scored at or above the cut-off for your category to be eligible to apply. The cut-off scores (out of 720) are set by NTA and are final.

Seat Categories Explained: Who Can Apply Where

**Competent Authority (Self-financing) Seats in New Government Medical Colleges:**

These seats are reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh only. A 'local candidate' means you have either studied 4 years in an educational institution in AP preceding your qualifying exam, or studied the maximum period (4 years) out of 7 years in AP, or resided 4 years in AP (if you did not study in an institution), or resided the maximum period out of 7 years in AP. Seats are filled by merit order from the merit list.

**Category-B1 Seats (15% of Management Quota intake in private colleges):**

Open to candidates from all over India. Filled first by order of merit from the merit list. If you are from outside Andhra Pradesh, you can only apply for B1 seats in private colleges, not B2 or Competent Authority seats.

**Category-B2 Seats (85% of Management Quota intake in private non-minority colleges):**

Reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh State only. Same local status definition as Competent Authority seats. Filled by merit order after B1 seats are filled.

**Category-B Seats in Private Minority Medical Colleges:**

Reserved for Muslim Minority candidates only. If Muslim Minority candidates are not available, seats will be allotted to Non-Muslim Minority candidates in the Stray Phase. Muslim Minority candidates are also eligible for Management Quota seats in other (non-minority) medical colleges.

Documents Required: Complete Checklist

You must upload scanned copies of all the documents listed below. The application will be automatically rejected if any mandatory document is missing or if documents are not clearly visible. All PDFs must be ≤500 KB; photos and signatures must be JPG/JPEG ≤100 KB. Use only desktop or laptop to upload — mobile phones are not supported.

**Critical trap:** If you are claiming local status for Category-B2 or Competent Authority seats, you MUST upload study certificates from 6th class onwards to Intermediate. Without these, your local status claim will be rejected and you will not be eligible for these seats.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step Process

**Step 1: Prepare your documents** Before you start, gather and scan all required certificates. Keep them ready on your computer. Download and read the prospectus and user manual from https://drntr.uhsap.in.

**Step 2: Visit the application portal** Go to https://drntr.uhsap.in or https://apuhs-ugadmissions.aptonline.in/MBBSMQ/Home/Home using a desktop or laptop (mobile phones are not supported). Do NOT use a mobile phone.

**Step 3: Fill the online form** Enter your basic details to receive a Registration Number on your registered mobile phone. **Keep this number confidential** — do not share it with anyone. Fill in all required information carefully. Incorrect information will lead to automatic rejection.

**Step 4: Upload scanned documents** Upload scanned copies of all required certificates and documents. Ensure all documents are clearly visible and within the file size limits. Invisible or illegible documents will result in rejection.

**Step 5: Pay the application fee** Pay the application and processing fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Internet Banking. The fee is non-refundable. Bank charges are extra.

**Step 6: Print and sign** After submission, print the online application form and sign it in the declaration area. You do NOT need to send this printout to the university.

**Step 7: Keep documents ready for admission** When you report to your allotted college (if you get a seat), bring the printed application form, downloaded Provisional Verification form, and original certificates with you.

**Important:** If you have already applied for Competent Authority Quota seats in an earlier notification, you must submit a **separate online application** for Management Quota seats. An application for Competent Authority seats alone will NOT be considered for Management Quota seats.

Critical Traps: What Gets Applications Rejected

**1. Incorrect or false information:** If you furnish false information or upload fake or forged documents at any stage — even after admission — the university will cancel your seat and admission without notice and take legal action. This is non-negotiable.

**2. Invisible or illegible documents:** If your scanned documents are not clearly visible or are too small to read, your application will be automatically rejected. Ensure all scans are high-quality.

**3. Grade certificates instead of marks memos:** The prospectus explicitly states that Grade Certificates are NOT accepted. You must upload your Intermediate Marks Memo or equivalent marks certificate, not a grade card.

**4. Missing study certificates for local status:** If you are claiming Category-B2 or Competent Authority seats as a local candidate of Andhra Pradesh, you MUST upload study certificates from 6th class to Intermediate. Without these, your local status will not be verified and you will be rejected.

**5. Applying after the deadline:** After 7 September 2026 at 9:00 PM, the portal closes permanently. No late applications will be accepted under any circumstances.

**6. Not uploading mandatory documents:** The three mandatory documents are NEET Rank Card, Birth Certificate, and Qualifying Exam Certificate. Missing any one will result in automatic rejection.

**7. Paying the wrong fee or forgetting to pay:** The application fee must be paid online. If you do not pay, your application will not be submitted. The fee is non-refundable, so verify the amount before paying.

**8. Using a mobile phone to apply:** The portal only works on desktop or laptop. If you try to apply on a mobile phone, you may face technical issues and your application may not be submitted properly.

Merit List, Counselling & Seat Allotment

After the application deadline, the university will verify all uploaded certificates and determine your eligibility. A **Provisional Merit Position** will be released on the website https://drntr.uhsap.in, calling for objections. You will have a chance to raise objections if you believe there is an error.

The university will then release the **Final Merit Position** of eligible candidates. Merit is determined solely by your NEET UG 2026 score and rank, subject to eligibility rules.

**Web counselling notifications** will be issued separately and placed on the website. You will be asked to exercise your web options (choose colleges and courses in order of preference). No individual intimations will be sent — you must check the website regularly.

Seats will be allotted based on your merit rank, your web options, and seat availability. The same online application will be used for all rounds of counselling, including the Mop-Up round.

**Important:** Merely submitting an application does not guarantee a seat. You must be eligible, appear in the merit list, and exercise your web options to be considered for allotment.

Fees After Admission: University Fee, Tuition Fee & Security Deposit

**University Fee (payable to download allotment order):**

Once you are allotted a seat, you must pay a University fee to download your allotment order. This fee varies by college type:

- New Government Medical Colleges / Private Non-Minority & Minority Colleges: Medical ₹35,100, Dental ₹18,100 - NRI Category / Category-C (NRI) / SVIMS: Medical ₹70,100, Dental ₹40,100

**Tuition Fee (payable to the college):**

After downloading your allotment order, you must report to the college and pay the annual tuition fee:

- **Competent Authority (Self-financing) in Government Colleges:** ₹12,00,000 per annum - **Management Quota Category-B in Private Colleges:** MBBS ₹14,52,000 per annum; BDS ₹4,84,000 per annum - **Category-C (NRI):** MBBS up to ₹43,56,000 per annum; BDS up to ₹14,52,000 per annum

**Note:** Private college fees are subject to the outcome of pending court cases (W.P. Nos. 32975, 33162 & 35090 of 2022). Fees may change based on court orders.

**Security Deposit (for Phase-III Mop-Up and later rounds):**

If you participate in Phase-III (Mop-Up) or subsequent counselling rounds, you must pay a refundable security deposit to avoid seat blocking: MBBS ₹3,00,000; BDS ₹1,00,000. This will be refunded after closure of admissions if you join your allotted seat or if you are not allotted a seat. It will be forfeited if you do not join or if your admission is cancelled.

Colleges & Seat Availability for 2026-27

The prospectus lists all affiliated colleges and the number of seats available under each category. A total of **900 MBBS seats** are available in new government medical colleges (270 Competent Authority self-financing + 113 NRI). In private colleges, **3,600 MBBS seats** are available under Management Quota (187 Category-B1 + 1,067 Category-B2 + 546 Category-C NRI). For **BDS**, 1,300 seats are available in private non-minority colleges and 100 in minority colleges.

The list includes colleges in Eluru, Machilipatnam, Nandyal, Rajahmundry, Vizianagaram, Paderu, and Piduguralla (government colleges), and private colleges across Andhra Pradesh including Apollo (Chittoor), Alluri Sitaramaraju Academy (Eluru), Great Eastern (Srikakulam), Katuri (Guntur), and many others.

**Important:** Seat availability is tentative and subject to permission from the Government of India, NMC/NDC approval, and affiliation by Dr. NTRUHS for 2026-27. The actual number of seats may change.

Special Rules: Local Status, Minority Candidates & PIO/OCI

**Local Status for Andhra Pradesh:**

If you are claiming local status for Category-B2 or Competent Authority seats, you must prove that you have either studied 4 years in an educational institution in Andhra Pradesh before your qualifying exam, or studied the maximum period (4 years) out of 7 years in AP, or resided 4 years in AP (if you did not study in an institution), or resided the maximum period out of 7 years in AP. You must upload study certificates from 6th class to Intermediate to prove this.

**Candidates from Telangana migrating to Andhra Pradesh:**

If you have migrated from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh and are claiming local status, you must obtain a Migration Certificate (Form-III) from the Tahsildar of the concerned district in Andhra Pradesh. This certificate must be issued online and uploaded with your application.

**Muslim Minority Candidates:**

If you are a Muslim Minority candidate, you can apply for Category-B seats in Minority Medical Colleges (reserved for Muslim minorities). You can also apply for Category-B seats in other (non-minority) colleges. If Muslim Minority candidates are not available for Minority College seats, they will be allotted to Non-Muslim Minority candidates in the Stray Phase.

**PIO/OCI Cardholders:**

If you registered as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholder on or after 4 March 2021, you are eligible only for Non-Resident Indian seats or supernumerary seats. You are NOT eligible for seats reserved exclusively for Indian citizens.

After Admission: Discontinuation & Ragging

**Discontinuation Fee:**

If you wish to withdraw from the course after the closure of admissions or in the middle of the course, you must submit a request through the college Principal to the university along with a discontinuation fee: MBBS ₹3,00,000; BDS ₹1,00,000. This must be paid by demand draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, payable at Vijayawada.

**Ragging:**

Students who join MBBS/BDS courses must not indulge in any agitation, strike, or ragging activity inside or outside the college campus. Students found participating in such activities will be expelled from the course and college at any point during their study, and legal proceedings or criminal action will be initiated against them. The National Medical Commission (Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging in Medical Colleges and Institutions) Regulations, 2021 are available on the university website.
