Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Andhra Pradesh's NEET-UG counselling authority, has opened online applications for MBBS and BDS admission to 2026–27. This round covers two seat types: Competent Authority (self-financing) seats in new government medical colleges, and Management Quota (Category B1 and B2) seats in private unaided medical and dental colleges across AP. What is this notification about?
NTRUHS has invited online applications for MBBS and BDS seats under two categories for the 2026–27 academic year. The first category is Competent Authority (self-financing) seats in new government medical colleges that were permitted from 2023–24 onwards. These are reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh. The second category is Management Quota seats (B1 and B2) in private unaided medical and dental colleges — both non-minority and minority institutions — affiliated to NTRUHS.
This is a single, unified application window. Once you register and upload your certificates, the same application will be considered for all rounds of counselling. You cannot apply separately for each round. A separate notification will be issued later for Category-C (NRI) seats, so this round does not cover NRI admissions.
Important dates: When to apply
The application window is very short and has two phases. In the first phase, you can apply without a late fee from 12 noon on 2 September 2026 until 9 PM on 6 September 2026. The application fee is ₹11,000. If you miss this deadline, a second phase opens on 7 September 2026 from 9 AM to 9 PM, but you must pay an additional late fee of ₹20,000, making the total ₹31,000.
After 9 PM on 7 September 2026, no further applications will be accepted under any circumstances. There are no extensions. Once you pay the fee, it is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted to any future date or round. Plan carefully and apply well before the deadline.

Who is eligible to apply?
You are eligible to apply if you meet all of the following conditions: (1) You scored the NEET UG 2026 cutoff mark or above in the exam conducted by NTA for 2026. (2) You passed Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany, Zoology, or Biotechnology) combined. If you belong to OBC, BC, SC, or ST category, the minimum is 40% marks. (3) You are at least 17 years old as of 31 December 2026. If you have not turned 17 by that date, you are not eligible and should not apply.
The NEET UG 2026 cutoff varies by category. General (OC/EWS) candidates must score 715–213 (50th percentile). SC/ST/BC candidates must score 212–177 (40th percentile). Persons with disability in the general category must score 212–194 (45th percentile). Persons with disability in SC/ST/BC categories must score 193–177 or 191–178 depending on the category (40th percentile). These lower percentiles are only for determining eligibility to apply — they do not grant any reservation or preference in seat allotment.

Competent Authority (self-financing) seats: Who can apply?
Competent Authority seats are available in new government medical colleges that were permitted from 2023–24 onwards. These seats are reserved exclusively for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh. You must prove that you are a local candidate of AP by meeting one of four criteria.
A local candidate of Andhra Pradesh is defined as: (a) A candidate who studied for 4 years in an educational institution in AP before the qualifying exam (Intermediate), OR (b) A candidate who studied for the maximum period (4 years) in AP out of a total 7-year study period in educational institutions before the qualifying exam, OR (c) A candidate who did not study in an educational institution but resided in AP for 4 years before the qualifying exam, OR (d) A candidate who did not study in an educational institution but resided in AP for the maximum period out of 7 years before the qualifying exam. You must upload study certificates from 6th class to Intermediate to prove your local status.

Management Quota Category B1 seats (15%): Who can apply?
Category B1 seats are 15% of the Management Quota seats in private unaided medical and dental colleges. These seats are open to candidates from all over India — there is no local candidate restriction. Seats are allotted by order of merit from the NEET UG 2026 merit list. You do not need to prove local status or residence in AP to be eligible for B1 seats.

Management Quota Category B2 seats (85%): Who can apply?
Category B2 seats are 85% of the Management Quota seats in private unaided non-minority medical and dental colleges. These seats are reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh only. You must prove your local status using the same four criteria as for Competent Authority seats: 4 years of study in AP, or 4 years out of 7 years of study in AP, or 4 years of residence in AP without study, or maximum residence in AP out of 7 years without study. You must upload study certificates from 6th class to Intermediate to prove local status.

Management Quota seats in private minority colleges: Special rules
Management Quota seats in private unaided minority medical and dental colleges are allotted to Muslim Minority Candidates only. If Muslim Minority Candidates are not available in sufficient numbers, the remaining seats will be allotted to Non-Muslim Minority Candidates in the Stray Vacancy Round of counselling. Muslim Minority Candidates are also eligible to apply for Management Quota seats in other (non-minority) medical colleges if they wish. You must upload a Minority Certificate (Muslim Only) to claim this category.

You must upload scanned copies of all mandatory documents and certificates. The verification of your eligibility will be done based on these uploaded documents in your absence — no custodian certificates will be accepted. All PDF documents must be 500 KB or smaller; photo and signature files must be JPG or JPEG format and 100 KB or smaller. Upload through the website https://drntr.uhsap.in.

How to apply: Step-by-step process
Applications are online only. You must use a desktop or laptop with an internet connection — mobile phones are not supported. Visit the website https://drntr.uhsap.in or https://apuhs-ugadmissions.aptonline.in/MBBSMQ/Home/Home to access the application form.
Step 1: Fill in your personal and academic details in the online form. Step 2: Pay the application and processing fee (₹11,000 by 6 September, or ₹31,000 if applying on 7 September with late fee) through the online payment gateway. Step 3: Upload scanned copies of all mandatory certificates and documents as listed above. Ensure all files are in the correct format (PDF or JPG/JPEG) and within the size limits. Step 4: Submit the form. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation. Step 5: Download and print the confirmation for your records.
Important: You can register only once, regardless of how many times you exercise web options or participate in counselling rounds. No separate notification will be given for verification of original certificates. Therefore, upload all mandatory certificates without fail during this registration window. After registration closes on 7 September, the university will verify your uploaded certificates and display a provisional merit list on the website. You will be notified separately when web options (choice of colleges and courses) open.

Critical traps: What will get your application rejected
Your application will be automatically rejected if you do not upload all mandatory certificates, passport size photo, and specimen signature. Incomplete information or missing documents will result in automatic rejection and your application will not be considered for merit ranking. There is no opportunity to correct or resubmit — you can register only once.
Grade certificates are NOT accepted for the Qualifying Exam Certificate. You must upload the Intermediate Marks Memo or an equivalent certificate showing actual marks, not just grades. If you upload a grade certificate, your application will be rejected.
If you are claiming local candidate status for Competent Authority or B2 seats, you must upload Study Certificates from 6th class to Intermediate. Without these, you cannot prove local status and will not be eligible for these seats. You will be considered only for B1 seats (if eligible) or rejected entirely.
If you have already applied for Competent Authority Quota seats in an earlier notification, you must submit a separate new application for Competent Authority (self-financing) seats and Management Quota seats. Your old application will not be carried forward. However, if you applied for Competent Authority (Convenor) Quota seats, that application will NOT be considered for Management Quota — you must apply separately.
If you have secured admission in medical colleges of other states and joined the course, and you are also blocking seats under Management Quota at Dr. NTR UHS, the university will initiate legal action against you and inform the National Medical Commission. Do not apply if you have already joined another medical college.
If any information in your application is found to be incorrect, false, or forged, or if you submit fake certificates, the university will cancel your seat (even after admission) without notice and take further action as per rules.

What happens after you apply?
After the registration deadline (7 September 2026), the university will verify all uploaded certificates and documents. The verification will be done by university officials and departmental staff in your absence — you do not need to attend in person. A provisional merit list will be displayed on the website https://drntr.uhsap.in based on your NEET UG 2026 rank and category.
Obtaining a merit position does not guarantee that your candidature is accepted. It does not mean that the information you entered in the application is accepted as true and correct. The university reserves the right to reject your candidature if any information is found to be false or if certificates are forged.
After the merit list is released, a separate notification will be issued for exercising web options (choosing colleges and courses in order of preference). You must visit the university website regularly to watch for this notification. The same application will be used for all rounds of counselling — you do not need to apply again.

If you have a qualification from a university or board outside India, you must submit an Eligibility/Equivalence Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, AND an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh. These must be submitted at the time of admission in the college, not during application.

Can I apply for both Competent Authority seats and Management Quota seats in the same application?
