Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada has opened the web option entry window for Phase-I of BDS Management Quota counselling for the 2026–27 academic year. This applies to Category B1 (all-India merit), Category B2 (Andhra Pradesh local), and Category C (NRI) seats in private dental colleges across Andhra Pradesh. If your name appears on the Final Merit Position list displayed on 2 October 2026, you must now rank your preferred colleges in order of priority. The window closes on 11 October at 5 PM — missing this deadline means you cannot participate in Phase-I allotment.
Web options for BDS Management Quota Phase-I are open from 6 PM on 9 October to 5 PM on 11 October 2026; eligible candidates must log in and rank colleges by priority, then pay the university fee to download their allotment.

Unlock My College ListWho is eligible to exercise web options?
You are eligible only if your name appears in the Final Merit Position of Management Quota displayed on 2 October 2026 (UPDATED) on the NTRUHS website. The university has already prepared this merit list based on your NEET score and category. If you do not see your name, you are not eligible for Phase-I and cannot exercise options now.
Eligibility is category-specific. Category B1 seats are open to candidates from all over India and Andhra Pradesh. Category B2 seats are reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh only. Category C (NRI) seats are for actual NRI candidates, foreign students, OCI card holders, and children or blood relatives of NRIs who meet strict criteria (see NRI eligibility section below). You must have applied under the correct category during registration to be on the merit list for that category.
Important dates and web option window
The web option entry window is strictly limited. It opens at 6:00 PM on 9 October 2026 and closes at 5:00 PM on 11 October 2026. You have approximately 47 hours to log in, rank your colleges, and submit. After 5 PM on 11 October, the portal will close and no further options can be entered or modified.
Do not wait until the last moment. The portal may experience heavy traffic in the final hours, and technical delays are common. Log in early, review your choices carefully, and submit well before the deadline. Once you submit, you cannot change your options — they are final.

How to exercise web options: step-by-step process
Exercising web options means ranking the dental colleges you wish to join in order of your preference. The allotment algorithm will match you to the highest-ranked college where a seat is available based on your merit position and category.
Follow this process carefully:
After you submit your options, any modifications you make will be automatically saved. However, once the web options window closes at 5 PM on 11 October, no further changes are allowed. The options you have submitted at that time are final and binding — the university will not entertain any request to change the order of colleges or to add or remove colleges after the deadline.
- Log in to the portal using your registration credentials.
- Review the seat matrix and list of available colleges displayed on the website.
- Rank the colleges in order of your preference (1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice, etc.).
- Be careful while entering your choices — read the instructions on the portal.
- When you submit, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile and email.
- Enter the OTP to confirm your submission.
- Take a printout of your saved options for your records.
- Do not attempt to change your options after submission — they are final.

Category-wise seat filling order and eligibility
The university fills seats in a specific order within each college. Understanding this order is crucial because it affects your chances of getting a seat.
**Category B1 seats** are filled FIRST in each college based on merit and your prioritised options. All candidates from across India and Andhra Pradesh are eligible for B1 seats. **Category B2 seats** are filled AFTER all B1 seats in a college are exhausted. Only local candidates of Andhra Pradesh are eligible for B2 seats. **Category C (NRI) seats** are filled for candidates who have opted as NRI on the merit list. If you are eligible for both B and C categories, you must rank colleges in order of priority for both categories — the allotment will follow your preference order and the filling sequence.
If you are a Muslim minority candidate, you can exercise options for Management Quota seats in un-aided private minority dental colleges (currently only Nimra Institute of Dental Sciences, Jupudi). If Muslim minority candidates are not available, these seats will be allotted to non-minority candidates in the Stray Round. Muslim minority candidates are also eligible for Management Quota seats in all other dental colleges.
- B1 seats: filled first; all-India and AP candidates eligible
- B2 seats: filled after B1 exhaustion; AP local candidates only
- C (NRI) seats: for NRI-opted candidates only
- Muslim minority candidates: eligible for minority college seats and all other colleges
NRI category eligibility: who qualifies
NRI (Non-Resident Indian) category seats have strict eligibility criteria. You must fall into one of these categories and submit the required declaration and documents:
**Actual NRI Candidate**: You hold an NRI status as defined by Indian law. **Foreign Students / OCI Card Holders**: You are a foreign national or hold an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) registration. Important: If you registered as PIO or OCI on or after 4 March 2021, you are eligible ONLY for NRI seats and cannot be admitted against any seat reserved for Indian citizens. **Children or Blood Relatives of NRI**: You are a blood relative of an NRI who meets specific criteria (see bullets below). The NRI relative must ordinarily reside abroad and must have looked after you as your guardian — you must provide evidence of this guardianship.
If you claim NRI status through a blood relative, the relative must be one of the following: real uncle/aunt (brother/sister of your father), real maternal uncle/aunt (brother/sister of your mother), grandfather/grandmother (father/mother of your father), maternal grandfather/grandmother (father/mother of your mother), or first-degree paternal or maternal cousin (child of the above). The relative must be NRI, ordinarily residing abroad, and must have acted as your guardian with documented evidence. You must submit a declaration and all required documents proving your NRI status or relationship. The university will verify these documents thoroughly at the time of admission — if any discrepancy is found or documents are false, your seat will be cancelled without notice and further action will be taken.
- Actual NRI candidate
- Foreign student or OCI/PIO cardholder (PIO/OCI registered on or after 4 March 2021 eligible for NRI seats only)
- Child of NRI: real uncle, real aunt, grandfather, grandmother, maternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, or first-degree cousin
- NRI relative must ordinarily reside abroad
- NRI relative must have acted as your guardian with documented evidence
- You must submit declaration and required documents
- Original documents verified at college admission; false documents result in seat cancellation
University fee and tuition fee: what you must pay
Once you are allotted a seat, you must pay two separate fees: the university fee (to download your allotment order) and the tuition fee (to the college). Understand the difference and the amounts clearly.
**University Fee** (paid online to NTRUHS): This is a one-time fee paid through the online payment gateway using your debit card, credit card, or internet banking. You must pay this fee to download your allotment order. The amount depends on your category: Rs. 18,100 for Category B (both B1 and B2), and Rs. 40,100 for Category C (NRI). This fee is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted to any future payment under any circumstances.
**Tuition Fee** (paid to the college): This is the annual fee for your BDS course, paid directly to the college principal. The amount varies by college and category. For Category B seats, the interim tuition fee is Rs. 4,84,000 per annum. For Category C (NRI) seats, the fee ranges from Rs. 5,50,000 to Rs. 14,52,000 per annum depending on the college (see the fee table below). The total fee is collected over 4 years (the full BDS course duration), with year-wise fees collected at the beginning of each academic year. The tuition fee is subject to the outcome of pending court cases (W.P. Nos. 32975, 33162, and 35090 of 2022) and may change.
- University fee: non-refundable, paid online via payment gateway
- Tuition fee: paid to college, varies by college and category
- Total fee collected over 4 years; year-wise at the start of each year
- Tuition fee subject to court case outcomes; may change

Available seats: colleges and seat matrix
A total of 1,300 BDS seats are available across 14 private un-aided non-minority dental colleges and 1 private un-aided minority dental college in Andhra Pradesh for Phase-I Management Quota counselling. The seats are divided into Category B1, Category B2, and Category C (NRI) as per the seat matrix below. Most colleges have an intake of 100 seats; two colleges (Care Dental College, Guntur and G. Pulla Reddy Dental College, Kurnool) have 50 seats each.
The seat matrix shows exactly how many seats each college has in each category. For example, Anil Neerukonda Institute of Dental Sciences, Visakhapatnam has 5 B1 seats, 30 B2 seats, and 15 NRI seats. Use this matrix to understand your chances and to rank colleges strategically. Colleges with more seats in your category may have lower cutoffs.

Critical traps: what gets your seat cancelled
The university will verify all your original certificates at the college of admission. If any discrepancy is found or you are deemed ineligible, your provisional allotment will be cancelled immediately without notice, and action will be initiated against you as per university regulations. This is not a warning — it happens. Read the eligibility criteria carefully before exercising options.
**NRI candidates face heightened scrutiny.** The university has allotted NRI seats based on scanned documents you uploaded during registration, WITHOUT verifying the originals. At the time of admission, the college will verify all original certificates and documents thoroughly. If any discrepancy is found, if you are found ineligible, or if any documents are found to be false, your seat will be automatically cancelled without notice and further action will be taken against you. This means if your NRI status cannot be proven with original documents, or if your guardianship claim is false, you lose your seat and face legal consequences.
**Do not engage in seat blocking or cancellation.** The university explicitly states it does not entertain or support seat blocking. If you are found involved in seat blocking, legal action will be initiated against you as per rules. This includes any attempt to hold a seat while negotiating with other candidates or colleges.
**If you do not report to the allotted college by the joining date and time specified on your allotment letter, your admission will be cancelled automatically.** There is no grace period. If you are allotted a seat in Phase-I but do not join, you can participate in Phase-II counselling, but the Phase-I seat you were allotted will not be available to you again.
- ⚠️ Original certificates verified at college; any discrepancy = seat cancelled without notice
- ⚠️ NRI candidates: false or unverifiable documents = seat cancelled + legal action
- ⚠️ Seat blocking = legal action initiated
- ⚠️ Failure to report by joining date = automatic admission cancellation
- ⚠️ Options are final; no changes allowed after 5 PM on 11 October
What happens after you exercise options: allotment and joining
After the web options window closes on 11 October at 5 PM, the university will process your options and generate allotments based on merit, your category, and your prioritised college choices. You will receive an SMS or message informing you whether a seat has been allotted to you.
Once allotted, you must download your allotment order by paying the university fee online (Rs. 18,100 for Category B or Rs. 40,100 for Category C). After payment, your allotment order will be available for download. You must then report to the Principal of your allotted college before the date and time specified on the allotment letter, bringing all original certificates and the allotment order. At the college, you will pay the tuition fee and college fee to complete the admission process.
If you do not report by the deadline on your allotment letter, your admission will be cancelled automatically. There is no extension or appeal. If you do not report in Phase-I, you can participate in Phase-II counselling, but the Phase-I seat you were allotted will not be available to you in Phase-II.
- Allotment results: you will receive an SMS/message
- Download allotment order: pay university fee online first
- Report to college: bring allotment order and all original certificates
- Pay tuition and college fees at the college
- Deadline: as specified on your allotment letter (non-negotiable)
- Failure to report = automatic cancellation
What to do before exercising options: preparation checklist
Before you log in to exercise options, prepare thoroughly. The window is only 47 hours, and once you submit, you cannot change your choices. Read the prospectus and regulations of Dr. NTR UHS available on the website. Also read the 'Information on Counselling Procedure' document placed on 11 September 2026. These documents explain the full rules, eligibility criteria, and the counselling process.
Review the seat matrix (Annexure-I) to see how many seats each college has in your category. Check the college-wise tuition fees (Annexure-II) to understand the cost at each college. If you are an NRI candidate, ensure you have all required documents ready to prove your NRI status or relationship to an NRI. If you are a Muslim minority candidate, confirm whether you are applying to a minority college or a non-minority college.
Make a list of colleges in order of your preference. Think strategically: rank colleges where you have a realistic chance of getting a seat based on your merit position, but also include your dream colleges. Remember, B1 seats are filled first, then B2, then NRI — so if you are eligible for multiple categories, your ranking across categories matters.
- ✅ Read Dr. NTR UHS Prospectus and Regulations
- ✅ Read 'Information on Counselling Procedure' (11 September 2026)
- ✅ Review seat matrix (Annexure-I) for your category
- ✅ Check college-wise tuition fees (Annexure-II)
- ✅ Prepare NRI documents if applicable
- ✅ Confirm minority status if applicable
- ✅ Make a prioritised list of colleges before logging in

See My CollegesFrequently asked questions
My name is on the merit list. Am I automatically allotted a seat?
No. Being on the merit list means you are eligible to exercise web options. You must log in during the window (6 PM on 9 October to 5 PM on 11 October), rank colleges in order of preference, and submit your options. The allotment is then made based on your merit position, category, and the colleges you have ranked. If you do not exercise options, you will not be allotted a seat in Phase-I.
Can I change my college preferences after I submit my options?
No. Once you submit your options, they are final. The university will not entertain any request to change the order of colleges or to add or remove colleges after the web options window closes at 5 PM on 11 October 2026. Any modifications you make before submission will be automatically saved, but after submission, no changes are allowed. Take a printout of your saved options before the deadline.
What is the difference between Category B1, B2, and C seats?
Category B1 seats are filled first and are open to candidates from all over India and Andhra Pradesh. Category B2 seats are filled after B1 seats are exhausted and are reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh only. Category C (NRI) seats are for NRI candidates, foreign students, OCI/PIO cardholders, and children or blood relatives of NRIs who meet strict eligibility criteria. If you are eligible for multiple categories, you must rank colleges in order of priority across all categories.
I am an NRI candidate. What documents do I need to prove my status?
You must submit a declaration and required documents proving you are an actual NRI, a foreign student, an OCI/PIO cardholder, or a child/blood relative of an NRI. If you claim NRI status through a relative, the relative must be one of: real uncle/aunt, real maternal uncle/aunt, grandfather/grandmother, maternal grandfather/grandmother, or first-degree cousin. The relative must be NRI, ordinarily residing abroad, and must have acted as your guardian with documented evidence. The university will verify all original documents at the time of admission — false documents result in seat cancellation and legal action.
How much will I pay in total for my BDS course?
You will pay two fees: (1) University fee (one-time, online): Rs. 18,100 for Category B or Rs. 40,100 for Category C. This is non-refundable. (2) Tuition fee (annual, to college): Rs. 4,84,000 per annum for Category B, or Rs. 5,50,000 to Rs. 14,52,000 per annum for Category C (varies by college). The tuition fee is collected over 4 years (the full BDS course), with year-wise fees at the start of each year. Total course cost = university fee + (annual tuition fee × 4).
What happens if I do not report to the allotted college by the joining date?
Your admission will be cancelled automatically. There is no extension or appeal. If you do not report in Phase-I, you can participate in Phase-II counselling, but the Phase-I seat you were allotted will not be available to you in Phase-II. You must report before the date and time specified on your allotment letter with all original certificates and the allotment order.
Can I withdraw from the course after joining?
Yes, but only through the college principal and only after paying a course discontinuation fee of Rs. 1,00,000 (as per G.O. Ms. No. 72, HM&FW Dept., dated 15 July 2019). If you submit a withdrawal request directly to the university, it will not be entertained. All withdrawal requests must go through the college principal.
What if my original certificates do not match the scanned documents I uploaded?
Your provisional allotment will be cancelled without notice, and action will be initiated against you as per university regulations. The university verifies all original certificates at the college of admission. Any discrepancy, ineligibility, or false documents result in immediate seat cancellation. This is especially strict for NRI candidates — ensure your documents are accurate and authentic before exercising options.
I am a Muslim minority candidate. Which colleges can I apply to?
You are eligible to exercise web options for Management Quota seats in un-aided private minority dental colleges (currently only Nimra Institute of Dental Sciences, Jupudi). If Muslim minority candidates are not available, these seats will be allotted to non-minority candidates in the Stray Round. You are also eligible for Management Quota seats in all other (non-minority) dental colleges.
What if NRI seats remain vacant after Phase-I?
As per G.O. Ms. No. 134 & 135 (HM & FW Dept., dated 11 September 2026), NRI quota seats that remain vacant after exhausting choices from all NRI applicants will be converted to NRI lapsed seats and filled in Phase-III (Mop Up) or subsequent phases only with candidates who applied for NRI Lapsed category seats. They will not be filled with non-NRI candidates in Phase-II.
How do I know if I am eligible for NRI seats if I am a child of an NRI?
You are eligible only if your NRI relative is one of: real uncle/aunt (brother/sister of your father), real maternal uncle/aunt (brother/sister of your mother), grandfather/grandmother (father/mother of your father), maternal grandfather/grandmother (father/mother of your mother), or first-degree paternal or maternal cousin. The relative must be NRI, ordinarily residing abroad, and must have looked after you as your guardian with documented evidence. You must submit a declaration and all required documents. If you cannot prove this relationship and guardianship with original documents at the time of admission, your seat will be cancelled.
What is the help desk contact for technical issues?
For clarifications on regulations, call 8978780501 or 7997710168 (10 AM to 6 PM on working days only). For technical difficulties or payment-related issues, call 9000780707 or 8008250842. Do not wait until the last day to seek help — contact the help desk early if you have any doubts.
