Seats are allocated across four quota categories: Government Quota (seats filled by the state government), Management Quota (seats managed by private colleges), Minority Quota (reserved for minority community institutions), and NRI Quota (for Non-Resident Indian candidates). The eligible list applies to all these quotas.

Who Appears on the Round 2 Eligible List?
Two groups of candidates appear on the Round 2 eligible list. First, all candidates who were admitted in Round 1 are automatically included — this is true whether or not they submitted willingness for Round 2. If you joined a course in Round 1 and did not submit willingness for Round 2, you will be retained in that same course unless you actively participate in Round 2.
Second, candidates who submitted willingness for Round 2 AND paid the Round 2 registration fee are included. If you are a new candidate (did not join in Round 1) or a Round 1 candidate who wants to change your course, you must have both submitted willingness and paid the fee to appear on this list.

Critical Condition: You Must Pay the Fee AND Fill Preferences to Get an Allotment
Being on the eligible list is not enough. CENTAC has made clear that only candidates who meet BOTH of these conditions will actually be considered for Round 2 allotment: (1) you must have submitted your willingness for Round 2 and paid the registration fee (if you have not yet joined a course), OR paid the tuition fee (if you already joined in Round 1), and (2) you must have filled in your course preferences — if your preferences are empty, you will not be considered for allotment.
This is a major trap. Many candidates appear on the eligible list but fail to pay the fee or leave their preferences blank, and then are not allotted any seat in Round 2. Do not assume being on the list means you will get a seat.

Special Rule for Puducherry SC/ST/EBC and Government School Students
Candidates from Puducherry who belong to SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), or EBC (Other Backward Class) categories, or who studied in government schools, and who joined a course in Round 1 under Government Quota, are subject to an additional requirement. If they have submitted willingness for Round 2, they will be considered for allotment ONLY if they have paid the Round 2 registration fee.
This means that even if you joined in Round 1 under Government Quota with a reserved category or government school status, you cannot move to a different course in Round 2 unless you pay the Round 2 registration fee. If you do not pay, you will remain in your Round 1 course.

What Happens If You Joined Round 1 but Did Not Submit Round 2 Willingness?
If you were admitted and joined a course in Round 1, and you did not submit your willingness for Round 2, you will be retained in the same course you joined. You will not be moved to a different course, and you will not participate in Round 2 allotment. Your Round 1 admission stands as is.
This is an important protection: if you are happy with your Round 1 seat and do nothing, you keep it. You only move to Round 2 if you actively submit willingness and pay the fee.
How to Check If You Are on the Eligible List
The Round 2 Eligible Candidates List is published on the CENTAC website at www.centacpuducherry.in. You can access it using your login credentials (your registration number and password). Search for your name or registration number on the list to confirm you are included.
CENTAC has also sent an SMS to all candidates for information. If you have not received an SMS or cannot find your name on the list, contact the CENTAC helpline immediately.

How to Raise an Objection If Your Name Is Missing or Incorrect
If you believe you should be on the eligible list but your name is missing, or if there is an error in your details, you can submit an objection. The deadline for submitting objections is 12 September 2026 at 11:00 AM — this is a hard deadline, so do not delay.
When you submit an objection, clearly explain why you believe you should be on the list or what error needs to be corrected. CENTAC will review your objection and respond. Do not wait until after the deadline; if your objection is not submitted by 11:00 AM on 12 September, it will not be considered.

Do not assume these steps have been completed. Many candidates miss one of these and then are not allotted a seat. Check each one carefully. If you have not paid the fee, pay it immediately. If you have not filled preferences, fill them now. The next round of allotment depends on these actions.
